Shacket Outfit Idea For The Holidays
I’m a girly girl. I admit to that especially here but sometimes you have to wear an edgy outfit and own it. This isn’t really out of my comfort zone as I thought it would. I felt so confident and like a boss babe in this. This outfit idea is for anyone who loves this trend. I added a pop of red for the holidays but you can do a full neutral look, a monochromatic look or any pop of color that is your favorite.
I was actually walking around my neighborhood a few days ago and spotted this house and knew it would be perfect for photos especially with this outfit. I’ve actually shot in front of this house a few times but I keep going back as it is the perfect backdrop. So sad I didn’t notice the loose bow in the background but it must have blown off. Props to whoever lives here because you totally made my day with the decorations and it was so nice.
A fun fact about this outfit is that this jacket is actually my dad’s so I am taking the dad coat trend to a whole new level because it is his. I didn’t have to go out and buy one because I borrowed my dad’s. I love that and it was the perfect oversized fit on me. It’s a black and white plaid which is also on trend so it ticks all the boxes being a trendy jacket. He actually has a few so I could choose which one to wear.
I went with this old off the shoulder bodysuit (linked similar here) and then these faux leather leggings I picked up in the Nsale. I’m finally getting around to wear them as it is colder now and I don’t sweat so much in them. They aren’t as high waisted as I thought but they work with the outfit. I did link the Nordstrom version here and the Spanx version here. A few years ago I would never wear a bodysuit like this that showed my arms with leggings that hugged my body but I’m so much more confident now and playing with my style.
The rest of my accessories are simple and perfect for the holidays with the red. I went with the red lip and nails of course and then my earrings are actually bows as well. My necklace is the popular pearl initial and it complimented the neckline of the bodysuit. Lastly I found it cool that the leggings are a shiny faux leather and my boots are a velvet suede and I love the contrast of them both together. I don’t think I would have paired them together too a few years ago. Let me know if I’m actually breaking fashion rules by wearing them together as I’m unsure.
I couldn’t do a full edgy outfit because I had to add my girly touch which is a bow. You know it’s my fave hair accessory and made the holiday vibes even stronger with the holiday decor. I love the pop of red and it finished the look off.
My bag is a designer dupe that looks so similar to a Chanel Boy Bag. I actually got sent this on accident after ordering the pink version but I ended up not returning it and keeping it and it came in handy. So now I have a pink and red version which I am not mad about and they can go with so many outfits. I love how fitting the bag goes with this particular outfit and it gives more of the vibes I was going for.
That was a shacket outfit idea for the holidays! I’m hoping this gives you inspo for what to wear if you do an outfit idea. I know it’s quite a weird time that’s why I haven’t really done any holiday outfits like I normally do. I usually have so many planned and shoot so much but I felt like we aren’t doing many dressy things this year. You can still be extra if you want on Christmas and wear this at home. I might or I might stick to Christmas pajamas. Let me know your thoughts on the shacket trend and how you would wear and style it into your aesthetic. I’d love to know and if there are other trends I need to add to my wardrobe. Thanks for reading about my shacket outfit idea for the holidays!
