27 Things I’m Grateful For On My Birthday
Happy Wednesday! I’m excited to share 27 things I’m grateful for on my birthday. Well my birthday was last Sunday but I wanted to take a few days off to just have some me time. I haven’t been doing too great with blogging but I’m trying to change that. My routine has been turned upside down lately so I just have to get back to normal and writing this post really helped and I can share about my day. I started this tradition on my 24th birthday when I wrote about 24 lessons I learned in 24 years which you can read here and from there I wrote a lifestyle ind of reflection post every year since. For my 25th I wrote about what I wanted to achieve in that year here and last year for my 26th I wrote a letter to my 16 year old self here. Now this year for my 27th I am writing 27 things I’m grateful for on my birthday. It’s quite fun reading through these posts and I’m glad to have started this tradition and have it as a journal entry of what I was thinking at that current age. I’m feeling really grateful for turning 27 so it’s such a great theme for this year. So without further ado, here is 27 things I am grateful for.
I am grateful for…
I mean this has to be the first, right? I am so grateful for living on this planet for 27 years. Even though in my head I feel like I’m getting so old on the other hand I think I’m so young and just starting as well. It’s weird but I am thankful for getting to the age of 27 and having many more to come.
Being able to document my birthdays
I noticed I have many of my birthdays documented here on the blog. I went through my archieves and I can just link you to a certain post about my birthday. I started documenting my birthdays at 19 and have been since so that is just so cool and I am grateful for that.
Being healthy & alive
Nothing thing you take for granted is health and being alive so I am grateful for that. I am a healthy and normal 27 year old now and you don’t realize that until you think about it so I had to add it to the list.
My mom living through a health scare
Speaking of that I’m grateful my mom recovered and is still with us. I don’t normally share stuff like this but I did want to mention that she is better now. She has her days and still needs to be cared for but other than that she survived and I am grateful for that.
Having my dad be with me
Now on to my dad. he visited me for my birthday last year but stayed longer than expected but it has been so fun hanging out with him one on one and going on fun adventures which I have documented. I know some don’t have theirs with them so I am super grateful to have mine and I’m such a daddy’s girl.
Lived in another country
It is so fun that I got to live in another country for 10 years and looking back at it I am so grateful for that experience and it is so cool to say I lived in another country because not many can say that.
Learning a second language
I am also grateful I learned another language too. I can’t believe that I can speak another language and I was able to learn one later on in my life. I was about 16-17 maybe when I learned Filipino and I’m sometimes not the best but I can get by and I’m super proud of that skill.
Getting a college degree
This blows my mind that I have a bachelors degree. I worked so hard for it and sometimes it slips my mind that I finished my education and can say I have a degree.
Moving to LA on my own
Now this was quite an accomplishment and I am grateful for deciding on this and moving out on my own to a country I haven’t been to. So cool I did and it was the best choice and so grateful I made it.
Being independent & my own person
I am so grateful I learned to be more independent. I was so used to having things done for me and not doing anything for myself so now I’m being my own person.
Started a blog & Youtube channel
This was another good decision I made and I am so grateful that I came up with this idea and have stuck with it. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t.
Made my hobby a career
Then I turned that small hobby into my job and I am so grateful for what I do and I can say it is so nice I can do this everyday and wake up and do it again and again.

Traveling to places I always wanted to go
Now this was something I am very grateful for. There are still so many places I need to go but I crossed off so many places off my bucket list and for that I am super grateful.
Going to New York City
I had to mention this because this was the number one place I wanted to travel to and I did. My NYC experience was like a movie like seriously if I tell you the story you would say it was a plot to a movie and I am so grateful for that memory and that time.
Seeing a Broadway musical
This is something I wanted to do since I went to theater school in college and I said I will go to one and I did so again that experience was something to be grateful for.
Seeing my favorites in concert
I never was a concert person until 2016 when I went to my first concert to see Little Mix and it was the best. I also saw Fifth Harmony before they broke up too. So I am so grateful to be able to go to concerts I always wanted to.
Meeting my fave celebrity
This was something I am truly grateful for and I was so not expecting this so having this experience is something to be very grateful for and will cherish the memory forever.
All the tech I own
With everything going on right now I love that I have all the gadgets. They are so expensive so having them is such a great thing so why not be thankful for all the technology nowadays and being able to say you own them and can use them whenever.
Getting to own my dream bed
I never got to have my dream bed until I was an adult so since my pictures reminded me of that I had to mention it because having a nice bed is such a good thing to be grateful for.
Buying my teddy bear and having him
Then it reminded me of my teddy bear too. He was my NYC souvenir and he was $35 which is a lot but honestly he was worth every penny and I sleep with him every night. I don’t have a pet here with me in LA yet so having a teddy bear really helps my anxiety and I can hug him and feel like myself so he is truly helpful and I am so grateful for buying him even though he was pretty pricey.
Lucky to have an apartment in West Hollywood
Having a roof over my head is something to be thankful for but living in a good area in West Hollywood is even more amazing. I have my family friend to thank and without them I don’t think everything would fall in place so I am grateful how things turned out and having an apartment in Weho!
Being a happy & smiley person
I always get complements on being such a smiley and happy person so I guess that is something to be grateful for because I need to at a time like this.
Learning how to do my makeup
Not too long ago I did not know how to do my makeup or even wear it so I am so grateful I learned and have so much fun doing it.
Reaching & achieving my goals
I am so grateful to reach and cross off things off my list of goals. I got to do so many things I didn’t think I would but I have and that is so cool.
Growing comfortable in my own skin
As a teen I was not comfortable in my skin and didn’t like my body but I grew to love it and except my flaws so I am grateful to have grown and not ashamed of how I am and how my body is.
Becoming true to myself and never giving up
I think this was a big one and learning to be who I am and not giving up. I am stubborn and will not give up so I am grateful that attitude has saved me many times and learning to be my authentic self is amazing.
Finding my path in life
Last thing I am grateful for is finding my own path and that took me a while to learn. I feel comfortable in who I am and where I am in my life so I am super grateful for that.
Those were 27 things I’m grateful for on my birthday. I guess since we are on lock down and in quarantine for my birthday this year I thought the theme of sharing what I was grateful for was appropriate and you realize how these little things really impact your life. Some were small and some were big. Some were random and some were not. A lot of the things I mentioned in this list I talked about before on my blog which means I have a lot of things saved here which I can look back on and think that is so cool. So I hope you enjoyed reading this and I can’t wait to see what I come up with next year for my birthday. Let me know one thing you are grateful for right now! Thanks for reading about 27 things I’m grateful for on my birthday.
