Wearing My Favorite Color & How I Style Hot Pink
Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing another outfit of me wearing my favorite color & how I style hot pink! I love this casual summer outfit featuring a bright color because I’m all about bold colors and prints during the summer months. It’s still really hot in LA so this is perfect for everyday and my go to style. So I thought today I would be talking about this cute outfit and me wearing my favorite color & how I style hot pink!
If you couldn’t tell by my blog colors, or by my outfits then you don’t know that my favorite color is hot pink. I’m obsessed with it and if something comes in that color variant then you best believe I will by it in that color way. I never used to be a hot pink girl. I guess we can head down memory lane on why I fell in love with the color. I’m not sure if I told the story before on the blog but here it goes anyways.
The Back Story on Why I Love Hot Pink
I never used to like pink. I mean as a baby my mom dressed me in pink and bought me pink things. Then when I got old enough to pick a favorite color, I would say it was blue. I wasn’t that much of a tomboy but I liked blue. I think since it was my dad’s favorite color and I wanted to be like him I liked the color too. I still remember my grandparents who are unfortunately not here anymore come over one weekend. I don’t know who bought me a blue curtain and a blue blanket for my bed but I loved it and I felt like such a big girl with my own room. I think I was 5 or 6 and it was the most amazing thing. I even remember and get reminded sometimes that I told my grandparents I wanted a blue bra when I was older. I know cringe that I told my grandpa that. I guess at the time they thought it was cute. By the way, I still don’t own a blue bra at this age. Now flash forward and I was in school and everyone liked pink and I liked blue. A few years later it changed and I started to like pink but at that point all the girls liked blue and made fun of me because pink was for little girls. I then changed my mind and liked purple instead to stop the bullying.
I liked purple for a few years. I had an all purple bike, purple blankets on my bed and wore purple all the time. It was my color and I was finally accepted because I liked purple and not pink. (Also why are girls so harsh?) Moving on and I was in middle school, 8th grade to be exact. My dad was allowing me to get a new cell phone for either my birthday or Christmas. The new Motorola Razors came out and had such cute colors. Please tell me I’m not too old and showing my age by sharing that. Anyways, they didn’t have a purple that I wanted but they had this light pink that was more a lilac. I told my dad I wanted that and so he said yes. I open it up and low and behold inside was a hot pink razor. I was very angry and told him he got the wrong one. He said it was all they had because only Verizon had that color and I was under his AT&T plan so they only had this. I was mad at him but I had a new cell phone that not many girls had at school so it made up for it. I was so popular because of that hot pink phone. I had it for quite a long time and soon my favorite color started to change. I was attracted to this bright pink shade.
Now I call it my signature color. Everything is hot pink. It is my aesthetic and I love it so much. Anything and everything is hot pink. It is exactly how I see my personality. My dad asked me the other day while I was buying a phone case if it had to be hot pink because they had a light pink next to it and it’s still pink. I told him he started this mess so it’s his fault everything has to be hot pink. So yes I still have a hot pink cell phone (kinda) and I love it so much. That was a long story but glad you know why I love hot pink so much. Now onto how I wear hot pink and style it so you too can rock the color too.
Outfit Details
This has been an outfit I throw on when I need to head out right now. It’s pretty hot and I feel uncomfortable in the heat. Nothing much has changed so a tee and some denim shorts are great. I love a good t-shirt and they are such a good basic. These white lace denim shorts are the cutest and the comfiest. They have been a great summer essential and do recommend them.

I recently bought this top from Nordsrtom. It was actually in the bag during this outfit shoot here. It was the first thing I bought at Nordstrom and it took me forever to choose. I wanted a basic as they were on sale and there was so many colors. I went back and forth but I finally narrowed it down to 2. I then had to Facetime my dad as he was outside in the food court. It was between this and a light pink v-neck tee. I asked my dad and again he came through and said “pick your favorite color because I know it makes you happy.” He was right again. I liked the style of the other top better but wasn’t happy with the color and this was my favorite color but not in the style I wanted. In the end I choose this and don’t regret it. I surprisingly don’t own too many hot pink items of clothing but I do own a few. It’s such a fun color in the summer and I wear it mostly then. I sometimes wear it year round but it depends. I love how bright the color is and looks good on. It will be my forever summer color and hopefully my all time favorite color.
As for the accessories, I have been wearing these tie up espadrille wedges. Such a great shoe and they dress up a casual outfit like this one. You can find them here. My bag is just my hot pink bag that has been great with all my hot pink outfits. I wore it with another hot pink outfit here. My jewelry I wore only one necklace, a bangle and my pearl chunky bracelet then the rest of my everyday jewelry as well. Lastly, my hot pink bow that I lost in my room but found again just in time for this outfit. By the way, my hot pink lippie is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa which is the perfect hot pink shade I own.
That was me wearing my favorite color & how I style hot pink! I enjoyed shooting these pictures! I saw this pretty flower bush around my neighborhood but the problem was it was in the middle of a street with a mini roundabout. So of course I had to get my dad and I stand in the middle of the street to get these shots. Did I risk our lives for the blog/Instagram? Yes I did but it was very empty out and we got out of the way when there were cars. It wasn’t the first time I’ve done something like that. Don’t worry we were safe and not blocking any traffic. The people passing did look to see what we were doing. I think they’re used to it by now with all the influencers around LA doing the same thing. By the way, I just published a post about how I grew my confidence to shoot in public places here. I have been discovering some great places right outside my door and it is so nice. Hopefully I can do a roundup of my fave places to shoot around LA if you’re interested. So I hope you enjoyed this long rambly story time and outfit post. Let me know you’re favorite color and if you would wear hot pink like me. I love it so much so I had to share me wearing my favorite color & how I style hot pink for an everyday casual look.
