How I Style A Dress with Sneakers
Happy Wednesday! Today I’m sharing how I style a dress with sneakers! I was never a sneaker girl until two years ago. I loved feminine footwear like heels, sandals and ballet flats so the thought of sneakers were the last thing I wanted to incorporate in my outfits and girly style. Well I used to love sneakers and tennis shoes as I used to call them growing up and wore them so much I probably got tired of them and when I had a choice of dressing myself as I was getting older I didn’t want to wear sneakers anymore. That changed when I needed comfy footwear for a trip to Palawan two years ago (I wrote a travel guide here by the way) and I was looking high and low until I found some feminine sneakers that I loved. I wear them constantly now and you will see them in so many of my outfit posts. A few days ago I picked up a new and crisp white pair of sneakers and it sparked the idea of this blog post. I always think of dresses to be girly and so I pair it with heels or wedges and when I want to dress it down then I pair it with ballet flats. However now I loved very casual dresses and sneakers and it is such a cute look. So here is how I style a dress with sneakers!

sneakers // sunglasses // bow
I am sharing the cutest spring dress with my new favorite shoes! This dress is the perfect shade of all year round dress and I love the floral print and color. You can dress it up with a wedge too if you want to make it more girly. I actually styled this dress before here where I transitioned it from summer to fall. That’s why I think it’s such a versatile piece and can look so cute with just about anything in your closet. Since it’s been a bit chilly I just threw on my cream cable knit cardigan with the dress and it made the look more cozy. I absolutely love this cardigan as it feels like you are wearing a soft robe outside.
Now these white sneakers are just the best. I have an eyelet lace pair and they are showing their age so when I saw these at the mall a few days ago then I knew it was time to pick them up and slowly replace my beloved pair. I think any dress will look good with some white canvas sneakers. It’s a more feminine looking sneaker and I prefer that. I know that those old chunky 90’s looking ones are very popular at the moment but honesty they aren’t my style and I think they aren’t the cutest. I did used to rock them as an elementary school kid and have pictures in them but right now I don’t think I’ll buy a pair. I mean you never know I might change my mind later on. As for now I love simple white sneakers and they look great with making a dress causal for an everyday look.
As for accessories I styled with this look and make it more casual I went with this cross-body bag I found in the back of my closet. I forgot all about it and I love the color with this dress. To match the white sneakers I went with mostly white accessories including my bow I’ve been obsessed with and these sunglasses that are the perfect spring accessory. I think it just completes the causal and girly look to compliment my shoes.
So that is how I style a dress with sneakers! I love this look and how feminine and perfect it is for an everyday spring outfit. I now need all the spring dresses so I can wear this combination on repeat. I actually wore this outfit for a quick lunch with my dad at my roommate’s work and then some shopping afterwards. It was such a great day and I love how this impromptu location shoot turned out. My dad and I stumbled upon this neighborhood filed with so many flower bushes and got these snaps which I totally love. I love spring and all the pretty flowers everywhere. So let me know your favorite footwear and what you prefer something comfy or something girly. I’d love to know as this is how I style a dress with sneakers and my choice!
I was never a fan of sneakers with more feminine items but I completely changed my mind a couple of years ago. And I prefer the more feminine and canvas sneakers too, they look better with my style and are way easier to style with feminine pieces like dresses, skirts, florals and every colour of the rainbow haha
