Zoella x Colourpop Brunch Date Collection Review
Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing a first impression of the Zoella x Colourpop Brunch Date collection review. I just got it last week and I was so excited to play with the collection. I haven’t tried anything new from Colourpop in a while but I love their matte liquid lipsticks but haven’t tried anything else. As soon as I saw Zoe announced this collection I knew it appealed to me and looked so cute. So I’m just going to share my thoughts of the Zoella x Colourpop Brunch Date collection review!
I started following Zoe back when she was a blogger back in the olden days when everyone was first starting out. I then discovered her channel and have been watching her ever since. I just love her vlogs and I live for her Vlogmas videos every year and I think I’ve watched them ever since she started doing it. I think this is the first time I have ever bought a collection from a Youtuber I watch. I think I might have bought others accidentally and found their channel through the product. I guess this is the first time I went out of my way to wait up and purchase something. I did finally buy something from her Zoella Beauty range after seeing it in Target and it was featured in my last post here. Now that I live in the US it is much easier to buy merch from my fave Youtubers and not be charged so much in shipping and I can even go to some stores and buy it in person. That’s really great for me but bad for the bank balance.
Zoe’s Colourpop collection is just gorgeous. I love the concept and really can relate to the aesthetic of it. It’s made me “play” with makeup for the first time and I’m loving every minute of it. I’ve found my ideal way to do my makeup recently but I was getting bored and wanting to try new products. That’s why I picked up a few beauty things recently which I just wrote about here including this. I haven’t bought new makeup in forever and I’ve been sticking to those products so I knew this would be perfect for me. That’s why when she said it’s for those who aren’t really makeup artists and just want to play with their makeup and can also be used for everyday it sounded great for me and just what I was looking for.
Zoella PR Collection Kit // $89
I settle on just splurging and getting the whole collection. I didn’t know they would be offering it so I had the eyeshadow palette, the liquid eyeshadows and one of the lip bundles in mind originally. Then I saw they offered the whole set and I knew it would be cheaper instead of buying everything individually and since I hadn’t bought any new makeup in a while I treated myself. So yes I bought this with my own money but I’m glad you can get the whole PR collection. Maybe one day I would be sent a PR package from any brand so I’m putting that in the universe that it will come true.
Zoella X Colourpop Supernova Shadow Group Hug Bundle // $14
The Supernova shadows were one of the things I was super excited to try. I’ve always wanted to play with liquid shadows and now I get a chance to. The first is OG and it is such a pretty golden champagne with little silver sparkles in it. It’s more subtle and I love the glitter in it and I created a fun look with it. The other color is kind of similar and it’s called Bellini and it is a metallic rose gold with a copper finish to it. It’s a bit more rosy and I love this shade when I want more a pink eye look or if I want a smokey night look with it. I can already see myself playing with these when I want to add an extra something to my make up with zero effort. They work as the perfect shadow base, to use as a cut crease which I have no idea how to do but I can try with these and if you fancy putting it all over the lid for a full glitz and sparkly look then it’s perfect for that.
Brunch Date Pressed Powder Shadow Palette // $18
I think this is now my everyday palette. I’ve been using this one here and love it and I’ll still use it but I’m so excited to try different eye looks with this palette. The colors are just what I’m looking for and comfortable with except the blue. I have flashbacks of back during my childhood dance days where my mom would use this color all over my eyelids so I can stand out on stage. There was no blending just dark blue on my eyes so I’m hoping I will not repeat that and learn to use it properly. I actually can see myself wearing Sunday Funday as I love hot pink and I think I can rock it especially for an event I have coming up. I don’t have a favorite yet but once I start getting into it I might. Maybe once I get more familiar with it I can post a few eye looks I’ll create with it and a more in depth review of the eyeshadow with swatches.
Xoxo Crème Gel Liner // $5
I’m not much of an eyeliner person. I use liquid liner to create a cat eye flick but I haven’t used any cream pencil in a while. Honestly I probably wouldn’t have bought this but since it came with it I’m going to maybe start using it. I’m not sure how to do but again I will have fun playing with it. The black I find is nicely pigmented and really creamy. I guess if I wanted a dark smokey eye this can go good with that.
Sincerely Yours Crème Gel Liner // $5
The brown is very pretty and I can see myself using this on the waterline and being for everyday looks. When I tried it though it is not as creamy as the black. I’m not sure why that is but it drags a bit unlike the black which glides on smoothly. I’ve tried it both on my hand and my eyes and it drags a bit more than the black one. I will test it out some more and I will give feed back if it is still like that. Maybe I just need to warm it up and use it more because it’s new. It is a pretty color though and very pigmented so it does have a plus as well.
| Soul Mate Pressed Powder Blush // $8 | Swipe Right Pressed Powder Highlighter // $8 |
Next is the blush and highlighter. I’m going to start with the blush as I hate to say it but love it more than the highlighter. I didn’t know I would like it as I’m not much of a blush but as soon as I tried it I knew it would become a staple. I love the color and it’s a gorgeous soft coral pink and gives such an amazing natural flush to the cheeks. It is very pigmented so I start off swirling my brush a little and just building it up or else it can be really pink. I definitely recommend it if you are needing a new blush to try out.
As for the highlighter, I like it but I love the blush more. They look lovely together when you use them. The highlighter is subtle and you can’t even see it in the swatch. I promise it is there but I guess it didn’t show up as well. If you are looking for a blinding glow then this isn’t the best highlighter to use. I like my subtle everyday glow so this is just right. In the pan it looks like a champagne with a little gold tint but when you apply it then it’s more of a pinky champagne glow. You can definitely build it up if you want to though. If you don’t like a subtle glow or have something similar then maybe you don’t need it but if you don’t then it is a very nice highlighter.
Give Us The Goss Lip Bundle // $11.50
Now we have the lip bundles! There are a total of three and all three are stunning. I’m going to start off with the red lip bundle. I do love a good red lippie and love it for the holidays. The shade is called Self Love Club and the lip liner is called Bossy. It’s a true red and looks so good on. I used to have a red lip from Colourpop and it was my go to Christmas color that I even wrote about here. This reminds me of that and it’s so pigmented and goes on smoothly. I love the ultra matte formula and the way it dries makes it look so pretty. I love this red and can’t wait for the holidays to wear this or if I’m feeling bold and want a red lip one day.
My Day Ones Lip Bundle // $11.50
The next is a nude lippie. This is such a pretty nude color and I’ve been on a hunt for my perfect nude color. The shade is called Little One and the lip liner has the same name Little One to match it. I’m still deciding if this color nude suits me but it is the closet one that looks semi-decent on me. I love the tone and maybe with a darker lip pencil I can make it work. I will try it out more with different eye looks to see if it really suits my complexion. It’s very nice though and if you want a pretty nude lipstick that is very nude and not pink or mauve tone then this is the one (little one) to be exact!
What Happens At Brunch Lip Bundle // $11.50
The last color is more of a pinky mauve. It still has a touch of nude but more pink to it. That shade is called @ Me and the lip pencil is called Oh Snap. I think so far this is my favorite shade. I mean it is a little to early to tell but I love this shade and I love pinky nudes like this. If you like more of a pink tone then this will be the perfect lip color. I can see this being my everyday shade and I’ll be grabbing for it especially for spring coming up.
Brunch Date Makeup Bag // $10
The last thing that I thought I would talk about is the actual makeup bag that it comes in. You can actually buy it separately and if you are thinking about getting it then I guess if you need a clear makeup bag then I can say it is cute and pretty big. It will hold a lot of makeup and will be great for traveling. If it didn’t come with the collection I would have passed over it but having it is super cute. Unfortunately I think you only get the stickers with the collection. They are super cute and you can decorate the makeup bag with it or stick to whatever you want. I secretly love it and can’t wait to play with stickers again.
That was the Zoella x Colourpop Brunch Date collection review! I hope you enjoyed this and the mini review and first impression I think of the products. I am so excited to use this more and figure out different ways to use it. I’d love to know if any of these interest you or if you picked up something from the range. Now that is it for Zoella x Colourpop Brunch Date collection review but stayed tuned as I’m hoping to do more eye looks with the palette. Hope you liked the post as I worked so hard on taking the pictures and love how they turned out.
Loved this! I actually don’t have anything from Colourpop, so I enjoyed seeing everything! Looks like some great products! That eyeshadow palette is GORG!
