How To Wear A Neutral Outfit For The Holidays
Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing how to wear a neutral outfit for the holidays! I absolutely love this outfit and how I styled it so of course I had to post about it. I have been very colorful lately and wearing a lot of red which you will be seeing more of but for right now here is an all black outfit with a pop of nude. This is quite different for me but I thought I would do it and take in the people who don’t go all out and wear the holiday red for this time of year. I did a twist and did something out of my comfort zone for once. So here I am and showing you how to wear a neutral outfit for the holidays!

I had this idea pop into my head as a regular outfit. Well when I went to shoot it there were so many pretty Christmas decorations around and all of a sudden it became a holiday look. At first I didn’t think it looked very appropriate for the holidays and then I thought it would be great for someone who wears all black all year round. I mean the skirt is very holiday themed with it’s feathers and then the top is very wintery with it being a mock neck and long sleeve. I mean this is a very California or somewhere warm outfit but you can adjust it to fit your weather like add tights and big coat on top. If I took this to New York I would surely add those to be more winter and cold weather like. The heeled booties made it more dressy but with an edge as well which makes the whole outfit. I don’t like wearing a full black outfit and always have to add a pop of color. I usually do red and since red is my fave at the moment I thought I would be different and do a pop of nude to create the most neutral outfit I have ever worn.

It’s quite easy to recreate this look. All you need to do is the following:
- Your choice of black top – Whatever you have just add it and it can be or any type.
- Your choice of black bottom – It depends on you whether you want a skirt (a feather one like mine) or black jeans would look extra edgy and more practical.
- Your choice of black shoes – Go extra and do heeled booties or black flats if you’re simple.
- your choice of a pop of color – You can go all neutral like mine or add any other color that you fancy
- Style it your way – Do what makes you happy and wear what you think is you for the holidays.
This is actually the first set of pictures I took using my new lens I got for my DSLR which was an early Christmas present to myself. I love how they turned out and so excited to play around with them even more. I love the dreamy blurry background it achieves and so happy I can get that in my pictures now. I just had to add in I love this display on Rodeo Drive Two. I took these at the end of November and it made me feel so festive. By the way have you met my new boyfriend? I loved this polar bear set up and I had to do the kissy face with it as I was taking pictures since I thought it was cute. I wasn’t the only one who thought it was cute as an older couple walked past and commented if he was my new boyfriend and how cute I was so it gave me an idea to call this big polar bear my new boyfriend. I bet he would be a great one though. I love the pictures and think they would be great for a Christmas card.
That is how to wear a neutral outfit for the holidays! As I said it was fun to try a different approach to a holiday outfit and I think it’s quite cute. If you are someone who wears all black all year round then here is a dressy and holiday version to give you inspiration. I have more festive outfit inspiration here if you like and my first holiday look of the year here. So I hope you enjoyed this how to wear a neutral outfit for the holidays and let me know if you would wear something like this and if it inspired you to wear an all black look for the holidays as well. I’d love to know your holiday party outfits.

I love the combination! Too bad that it is minus degrees now here in the Northern part of the Europe 😁
That skirt is so cute! You could also add a pop of red with it to add some color.
You look so beautiful! I love all the splashes of pink! And the details of your skirt. Beautiful look! x
