Styling An Edgy Outfit As A Girly Girl
Happy Monday! Today I’m back after taking a week off all social media. I didn’t mean to but it was a nice break. However I have been shooting a few outfits here and there so I had content when I did come back. Now this outfit came up as a spur of the moment one when I needed something to wear for the evening. If you’ve seen a lot of my outfits then you know I have a very girly and feminine style. Sometimes I switch it up and like to add a bit of edginess to my outfit and that is why I’m styling an edgy outfit as a girly girl. I’ve done this before in a few of my other outfits and I’m doing it again. I knew my style would change now that I live in LA which I wrote about here. So here is today’s post about styling an edgy outfit as a girly girl!

My roommate and I headed out for the afternoon and evening and it lead us to LACMA which I’ve been wanting to go to for a while. Even before I lived here I had this on my list of places to visit. I knew I’d love to shoot pictures there and get the iconic lights pictures. My roommate suggested it and who knew it wasn’t too far away. It wasn’t as big when you see it in real life. I always imagined it was so tall and there was a lot of them but no. It was still fun to take pictures and weave in and out of them. I actually did some fun vlog shots of me running in and out of them. It was cool seeing it in person and the photos turned out amazing.
So how I’m styling an edgy outfit as a girly girl is by taking this dress that I’ve worn before at a wedding here. It’s not a very girly dress in the first place so it’s easy to manipulate to any style. I can make it feminine and dress it up and I can make it sporty and casual like this. I feel like this is an in between. It’s still dressy but not so much if that makes sense. It was the perfect afternoon/evening outfit. I usually have outfits planned out when I visit certain locations but I came up with this right before I was leaving. I do love how it turned out and matched the location pretty well.

As for details, I ditched the bow for a beret. I thought this outfit suited a beret and I was correct. Then I added this new faux suede moto jacket and I have always wanted one. I love the edginess to it and it really toughened up the look. Next are these ankle booties which I love the look of but to be honest they aren’t the comfiest boots to wear. They are okay for a while but with it’s pointed to it is not good for wide feet like mine. I think they are so cute though and for a few photos in them they are fine. Of course my black velvet and pearl bag which goes with all my outfits. Overall this is the outfit and love the styling of everything together.
That was how I’m styling an edgy outfit as a girly girl! I had such a fun day visiting LACMA. Unfortunately the rest of it was closed due to an event but I would love to go back and explore it. I think I have been there before on a field trip in elementary but I don’t remember so I’d love to actual see and appreciate it. I do have a few more things I want to see on my LA list but I’m slowly crossing them off which is exciting. So I hope you enjoyed this and like how I styled this outfit. Also let me know your way in styling an edgy outfit as a girly girl if you’re one as well. I’d love to know and let me know your experience if you’ve visited this famous photo spot.
This outfit is AMAZING on you! It really is the perfect mix of girly and edgy!
