My 2018 Halloween Costume and Makeup
Happy Friday! Since Halloween was on Wednesday, I wanted to share this years costume, makeup and what I did. I was trying to get this up on the actual day but I had too much fun on my first Halloween living in LA again that I postponed it until today. On another note, it’s November and I can’t believe it. It seems just yesterday I was celebrating the New Year with my family back in Manila and now it’s almost Christmas again. Well enough about Christmas I haven’t told you about my Halloween yet. I filmed a get ready with me a few days before to see what I wanted to create and love how it turned out so I recreated it on the actual day. I’ve listed my makeup below and the look I created. Also the costume too so read on or just watch my video going up on my Youtube channel tonight. So here is my 2018 Halloween costume and makeup!

Here is my costume. I’m a costume repeater as I wore this or something similar back in 2015 which you can see here. I love my poodle skirt and can you believe this was my tap recital costume back in 2004 and it still fits. Well it was a lot longer at the time and it still has the original hem my mom had to sew as it was too long and now I love the length and it makes a lot more grown up and sexier to be shorter so that’s why I haven’t let down the excess material sewn underneath. This will be my favorite piece of clothing and very special to me. One day I hope to pass it on to my daughter as a Halloween costume. There’s something about 50’s fashion I love and will never get tired of this costume. Can you believe this was my last Halloween costume back in 2008 before I moved to Manila? Now it’s my first costume I’m wearing back in 2018 here in LA. It came full circle didn’t it.
There is a lot of varieties to this costume and could be mixed and matched. Some years I wore the full costume with the sparkly leotard it came with, Other years I added a plain black top with tap shoes but this year I wore it with a long black sleeve mockneck top. It was nice as it was pretty cold for me and I wore a pink satin bomber jacket and the style really reminds me of the 50’s and Greece. I was supposed to buy some frilly shoes with my white sneakers but I couldn’t find any last minute. I know you should have some oxfords to really look like the style but I just wore the sneakers I already own. I don’t have the original bow to this costume or a neck scarf anymore but the bow I wore matched the jacket so why not. I love how it turned out this year.
The makeup I wore with my costume. I went with a mauve pink to match more the jacket then the skirt. I wore a hot pink makeup look in my Halloween costume in 2016 so you can see that here. I didn’t want to go very bold pink but a subtle pink glam. Again, I matched the eyes with the lips and went very glittery. It’s so glittery that you can see it all over my black top which I didn’t notice until I was looking at these pictures after they were uploaded on here. Oh well it is as extra as me. I’m proud of this makeup look and can’t believe how much I am improving. So here are the details of my costume.

The eyes I went very glittery and pink. I did add a touch more berry in the crease on Halloween to make it more bright and smokey but this is the base look I went with. I love the gold glitter and I even added a little rose gold glitter liner above my black cat eye flick. I’m getting better and better with wing liner and I’m still going to practice to make them perfect. Also I added lashes and again I’m getting better at that too. I find doing wing liner easier than applying lashes though. I always have trouble and regret doing it and then when I apply them correctly and see them on I love them so much. I don’t know about you but I can see improvement in my eye makeup and I’ve been having so much fun practicing and getting better at it. I’m proud of this look and had to share.
That was my 2018 Halloween costume and makeup! I hope you enjoy this years costume. I had the best time. I had a little too fun as I woke up with my first hungover but I’m still on the grind and had to get this blog post up and the video which will be uploaded tonight so stay tune for the get ready with me. It was so fun to experience my first adult Halloween as I was only 14 when I left the US and I was still trick or treating back then. This time I’m old enough to do all the other fun Halloween things. Also living in West Hollywood has been fun and I got to see what the city is all about which is so cool. I had a party right on my street which is cool. So that was my Halloween. I hope you like my 2018 Halloween costume and makeup and also what I did on Halloween night. Let me know what you dressed as and what you ended up doing.
