Will My Style Change Now That I Live In Los Angeles?
Happy Monday! Today’s blog post was inspired by a conversation with my cousin. I was on Facetime with her while I was in Beverly Hills last week to show her the sights. I then showed her my outfit and she commented that I was so glamorous and that my style has changed. Now remember she used to take my outfit pictures while I still live in the Philippines and saw my outfit progression. I didn’t think my style has changed but maybe it has now that I live in LA. I see more fashionable people and got inspired by it. Also I knew I was heading to Beverly Hills that afternoon so I made an effort to dress up for it. You can maybe see a little of my style changing in my latest outfits posts here, here and here. I try to dress up more and being in a new place has changed my attitude with dressing. So let’s find out will my style change now that I live in Los Angeles?
I don’t think my style will change drastically right now but over time you never know. I’ve only lived in LA for a month and it hasn’t changed to much but I feel more confident in my dressing. I’ve been showing of my curves a lot more. Now I used to not do that, not because I wasn’t confident but in the Philippines it isn’t too looked upon to do that when you are my size. I would get looks for dressing up like I did so let alone if I showed a bit of skin. In the end I did just dress however I wanted and just put up with the stares. Now in LA I noticed that a lot of people embrace their fashion choices and don’t stare at whatever you are wearing. I mean that is just an observation in my time living in this city so far. I guess the surroundings is one of the things that might affect my style to change.
The weather is probably going to affect my style quite a lot. I knew how to dress in Manila. I knew what to wear so I wasn’t too hot but still looked good. I even wrote about a guide to dress in the hot weather here. I was so used to it. Now the weather is very different in LA. I mean it is a bit similar where there is a lot of sun and quite warm but it isn’t as humid and can get very chilly at night. There are also seasons to think about now. I pretended to dress for seasons but I wouldn’t wear the outfit out only for picture purposes. I think here I can actually dress for the season. I mean I don’t think Southern California gets too cold or great for fall but for me it is cold since I am used to hot and humid most days of the year so moving to a cooler climate is colder for me than others who have lived here a while and are used to that cool temperature but for me it’s colder than what I’m used to if that makes sense. I can’t wait to dress for fall and winter though and can actually wear a sweater all day instead of just wearing it for the picture and taking it off afterwards.
With my style kind of changing with where I live I have so many stores to look at and shop for more clothes now. There are so many options so it will probably be inevitable that I will have a different style with all the options I can shop at and since I will be doing a lot of shopping that means I need to find ways to save so when Wikibuy approached me I thought it was perfect. There are so many coupons on there and they have so many stores to choose from to get extra discounts so I know that will be helping my wallet a lot.
Now those are my thoughts on will my style change now that I live in Los Angeles! Who would have thought that a conversation with my family members would spark a blog post? It will be fun to see how different I will dress a year from now. I think that everything around us affects how we dress and I think my cousin is right. I know I was heading somewhere fashionable so I stepped up my game and tried to come up with a risky outfit that I never thought I would wear. It was fun and I had a fab day out in Beverly Hills doing all the tourist things and just exploring what they city has to offer. I hope you enjoyed this outfit post and the pictures as I love how they turned out and we went at the perfect time where the sun was amazing. Now I think where you live does affect your style and how you dress. Let me know if you dress based on where you live.
So will my style change now that I live in Los Angeles? I think it might so stay tuned for the journey.
