Styling A Dress From Day To Night For Fall
Happy Monday! Since it’s August and very close to fall, I thought I would slowly start transitioning my outfits to fall. It’s still pretty warm here in LA but I can feel the cool breeze once in a while. One night I randomly got so excited for fall because I was thinking about Halloween and now that I live in the US again that means I can go to pumpkin patches and I could wear boots and sweaters there. It got me so excited for dressing for cooler weather. I know SoCal doesn’t get too cold or have perfect fall weather but it’s closer than living in a tropical humid country. So I decided to style an outfit that can transition from day to night and summer to fall. It was so fun and it makes me eager to prep my wardrobe for a new season. I’ve done this before with a top in which if you missed that then that’s here and I styled it kind of the same way. This time it’s a dress that my cousin gifted me before I moved to the US so it’s really special to me. Now today I’m styling a dress from day to night for fall.

Day Look
The day time look is very dressed down. It is a pretty versatile dress so it can go both ways which is a great piece to have in your wardrobe. I love wearing this burgundy red in fall and it’s one of my favorites to style. The tassels and off the shoulder detail make it great for summer but the color can transition over to fall. I paired the dress with a long grey cardigan which makes the dress more casual. To continue the casual vibe, I went with my go to white sneakers which is comfy and makes the look preppy. My bag is white to match the sneakers and it’s a cross body which is easy to carry around. I tied my hair up in a chic high ponytail and added a matching color bow with the dress. My jewelry I went with my everyday heart pendent necklace and bow pearl earrings. Overall it’s a very preppy and casual look perfect for a day out shopping or having lunch with the girls. It’s super cute and I love this outfit. The dress is a bit short on me so I would probably tuck the dress into some shorts for a very casual vibe if I really wanted to style it down even more. Either way I love the day look and it’s great for summer or fall.

Night Look
As for the night look, I dressed it up more. I wore the dress alone to show off the off the shoulder detail and the pretty tassels that are on the dress. If it was colder and if I had one I would love to pair it with a leather jacket to make it even more fall appropriate. As for the bag and heels they are my go to evening accessories and go together perfectly as they both are black and velvet. I went with heels to elevate the dress. The jewelry I still went with the heart pendent necklace but changed out the earrings for more dramatic ones. They are from H&M and I bought them to go with a floor length gown as they matched it perfectly. They’re diamond leaf dangle earrings and look so chic and dress up an outfit with these statement earrings. Lastly I went with a similar colored bow to the dress but pinned my hair back with it. This would be perfect for date night or going out for drinks in the evening and I would so wear this for that. I like how simple the night look is but it still makes a statement too.

I can finally appreciate the weather and dress for it instead of faking it just for pictures. I’m hoping to put out more fall styling posts for you so stay tuned for that. I’d love to know what if your favorite piece to style in your closet from day to night and from season to season. I hope you enjoyed me styling a dress from day to night for fall.
