On My Skincare and Makeup Wish List
Happy Wednesday! I’m back with another wish list Wednesday. It feels so long since I’ve done one but maybe it’s because I’ve been on a spending ban with all things beauty since last week. I have been buying stuff like a lot of homeware bits for my new place in LA but nothing beauty related quite yet. I am however so excited that there is an Ulta and Sephora right by me so it’s amazing and dangerous at the same time. So today I thought I would share what’s on my skincare and makeup wish list.
Like I said Spehora and Ulta are so close to me and not to mention there is their online sites to go shopping on as well. I like going in person to see the stuff but once I know what I need and want then it’s convenient that I have that so easily acceptable to me too. Honestly it was one of the things I was looking forward to when I moved to LA. I have access to so many more brands and products to try as well as having the advantage of not paying an arm and a leg in shipping overseas. I was so excited and it was definitely on my pro list on moving to LA. It’s going to be so sad for my bank balance though but of course I’m going to pace myself that’s why I created a wish list. I can have it all in one place and just look back on it and cross things off once I purchase something from here.
Skincare
Now I’ve mentioned a few times already that my skin does not like the climate change. It went from being very oily to now very dry but the oiliness is still there but not as heavy as before. That meant I needed a new skincare routine. I’m not really good with skincare and just used face wash, sometimes moisturizer and then sunscreen back home but a few months ago I stepped it up and added a new cleanser, an eye cream and a toner. I thought I was doing a great job but unfortunately I wasn’t. My foundation was so dry and looked so bad on me and I was using the same foundation back at home and it looked great on me. So I went to Sephora and asked for a new foundation to try but one of them said I didn’t need a new foundation but a new skincare regime. He said I needed hydration back into my skin as LA was drying me out and I went from a humid climate to a very dry one so it sucked it all out of me and made my skin so confused. He did a brand new skincare routine on me and gave me samples off all the products and wrote it down for me what I should do day to night. So that is where this wish list comes in. I have these already in my basket to purchase come payday. I had loads of samples and been on this new skincare routine for almost a month now and I have been seeing quite a difference with it so I think it was time I get the full size versions. Some are his recommendations and some are for me to try out and experiment with that are similar to what he is saying I need.
Bliss What A Melon Overnight Mask // $16 – This was something I discovered on my own and I found it because of an ad on Instagram and researched about the product and brand and it looks quite nice so if I am in Target or Ulta next I will pick it up.
Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme // $38 – I was searching around different eye creams on Sephora online and came across this and it sounded right up my street and what I want. I have a few eye creams on my wish list and think I will be getting a sample of this next time I head to their store.
Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Eye Cream // $45 – This was the eye cream they recommended and I have a sample of it and been using it for 3 or so weeks now and so far I like it but the price is putting it off. I do like it and found it works though so I might have to pick it up first.
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm // $29.50 – I was recommended this by another lady at Sephora and she says she loves this to take makeup off. I currently am using the Caroline Hirons and Pixi one and love that but I might get this when I run out of mine.
Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator // $12-$50 – Another product recoemned by a Youtuber and it seems perfect for my skin type right now and I need a good moisturizer. I do have another one as well that I am using and looking at too.
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Ultra-Light Moisturizer // $25 – Now this one is the one recoemended in my skincare routine and I love this. It is so soft and light and I am hoping the samples last until I can buy the full size. I am so getting this as soon as I finish the sample.
Lancome Tonique Confort Comforting Rehydrating Toner // $26 – I’ve been using 2 toners and I was recommended to get toner as my first purchase so I got an exfoliating toner first but to match that I needed a hydrating toner and this was the one I got samples in and it is so soft and hydrating and I love how it feels on the skin. So this and the Purity moisturizer will be the 2 things I am definitely picking up and adding to my skincare routine perfectly.
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser // $18 – I have had this on my wish list for forever and I am so getting this. I want to do a separate wish list of all the Glossier stuff I want but this would be the first thing I pick up. My cleanser is drying me out and I’ve still been using it to just finish it up but once I finish this will replace it.
Makeup
Next is in the makeup category and I am in need of some new makeup and with so many brands to chose from it was difficult but for now I have narrowed it down to a few. Also I am more focused on base makeup and getting a flawless base. So since I am making effort on my skincare and getting that clean and smooth base I want to achieve a perfect look. I still haven’t found a foundation I really love so I am going to try and find one now that I have literally endless possibilities.
Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector // $38 – First is a primer and I have a few but this one made the cut and I think this will be the one I try next. I was watching so many Youtube videos with this product so it kind of convinced me and it seems great for my skin type and the concerns of my skin.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte // $38 – I have a few foundations that I want to try but first is this CC cream now I wanted a foundation but then again I don’t really mind it’s a CC cream. I wanted to try the original but saw they made one for oily skin and think this will be great for me. I need to get a sample and colored matched with this. I’m hoping this is as great as everyone says.
Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer // $29 – I think my concealer that I am using is very drying and you can see more of my texture and dry patches easily but lately I have heard that the Tarte Shape Tape does do that and since I do have drier skin now it is showing up more often. This is supposed to be very similar but not drying whatsoever so I hope it is true because I heard good things and I like the foundation so hope it goes well with it.
Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder // $33 – To set that concealer I want to buy this and not just it matches but this is what was used on me at Sephora but I was recommended this or the Laura Mercier one so I can’t decided but since this is what they used on me I think this will be the one I get.
NARS Laguna & Orgasm Blush/Bronzer Duo // $42 – Again another product they used on me and wow it looked so pretty on me and I’ve always wanted something from Nars and of course I need to try their cult favorite and I see the hype as it looked so nice on me.
Ulta X Melisa Michelle Bling On The Glam Eyeshadow Palette // $20 – Now moving on to Ulta when I went in just a few days ago just before I went grocery shopping at Target and I decided to have a look around in there and I stumbled upon this. Now I didn’t know this was a Youtuber collab and I haven’t bought anything like that yet but I just saw this pretty packaging and then the colors so I reached for it and almost got it but put it off for now but I need to go back for it as I’ve been thinking about it non-stop.
Ulta X Melisa Michelle Bling On The Glam Cheek Palette // $15 – The cheek palette is something I want as well. This was initially what got me hooked as I saw the shade names and it said Mahal and Maganda which means love and beautiful respectively in Filipino and by now you know I’m half and lived there for 10 years so that was so special to me. I was on the phone with my dad and he found it so funny. So I know I will be back for this as I need new blushes and highlighters and these are just perfect.
Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray // $30 – Lastly to finish the base I need a new setting spray and now that UD is accessible to me and I have heard great things about this and staying on so well so I am here for it and will be getting the travel size first I think to try it out and then if I do like it I will get it.
That was what’s on my skincare and makeup wish list and all the products that might make it’s way into my hands and collection soon. I am so excited to be wearing some new makeup and really getting my skincare routine down and making my skin nice and smooth again. I do have pretty good skin besides texture and dryness so I made sure I was using it for that. I have my past skincare routine here if you want to check that out as well. I hope you enjoyed see what I have on my skincare and makeup wish list and let me know if you have any products on your wish list beauty wise like this. Now I need to find a way to make all the money to buy every single thing!

I have heard so many good things about face masks, but I have yet to try them. I so need to try the melon face mask.
I always love looking at new make up… but then I get tired of it after a couple of weeks and feel bad for spending the money…
Born this way foundation – I swear by it!
And all the clinic products make my face feel like a silky pillow.
