Pink to Make The Boys Wink What I Wore
Happy Wednesday! And on Wednesdays I wear pink and take pictures in front of the iconic pink wall at Paul Smith in Melrose. When I said I visited a few of the iconic Instagram spots in LA already I wasn’t lying. I have checked a few of the popular places off my list and the second one is of course the famous pink wall. I do love my pink walls so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take outfit pictures here. On Monday I matched my outfit to The Beverly Hills Hotel (which if you missed then catch it here) and now I’m wearing a pink outfit in front of a pink background. So here is my outfit that I thought was fitting titled, Pink to Make The Boys Wink What I Wore!
| sweater // dress // bag // sneakers // earrings // bow // sunglasses |
This outfit is more of a spring kind of outfit as it is a bit too warm for a hot summer. I mean I could have made it work for summer and took off the sweater underneath but I liked them paired together. Good thing the sweater is very thin so it wasn’t too bad. I love that this would be a great touring the city kind of outfit which is what I did in it. I wasn’t sure if I should go for an all pink outfit in front of an already very pink wall but I did it and I actually like how all the shades of pink went together.

Outfit Details
Sweater – This is from Forever 21 and is a few years old bu I found a very similar one here. It’s sheer and very light weight. I love the blush pink color of it and since it is kind of see through it becomes a lighter color when worn so it is a light pink more than a pretty blush pink unlike when it is hung up.
Dress – I bought this in April for a summer party and I packed it for my birthday staycation but never got a chance to wear it. I was initially going to use it as a swimsuit cover up and that is what I think the original purpose is for since I bought it at Forever 21 in the swimsuit section. I got it as a buy one get one deal so this dress was free. I had no reason to wear it but I saw a similar look on Pinterest with similar pieces so I thought I would style it like that and it turns out it worked pretty good and love how the outfit turned out. I guess experimenting this time paid off and created this fun look.

Accessory Details
Bag – The bag I kind of think I should have gone with another color but it was the perfect going out bag. I also couldn’t think of another bag that would have look good with this so hot pink was what I went for. It’s cross body and holds a lot of stuff but isn’t too big where you regret bringing it with you. It is great for tour the city and is my go to bag at the moment to hold all the essentials.
Sneakers – The sneakers are again an everyday wear for me. I never used to be a sneaker girl but with walking around in LA they are lifesavers. Plus it gives the look a sporty and casual feel but still has a girly element in there.
Sunglasses – Again very matchy and I had to go for the pink mirror pair and with them being very reflective it made the sunglasses even more pink. I have two similar pairs but I think these went better with the look.
Earrings & Bow – Are you surprised I wore hot pink tassel earrings and bow? I think not so let’s leave it at that since I don’t need to explain myself.

As soon as I saw it, I felt like I have already been because of so many vlogs and pictures I have seen of it. There were so many other girls getting there picture taken in front of it and I felt normal. I’m usually the only one taking outfit pictures especially in Manila and I get starred at and watched by so many people. Also they are so inconsiderate and will stand in your way and make it more difficult to get the perfect shot. I would get so frustrated and seem like a freak. However, here in LA, everyone is doing it and it’s no big deal. The girls who were beside me moved out of the way so I can get my shots. They just get it and I did the same for the other girls when I was finished. It felt normal even though what we do isn’t normal. If I was still in Manila I would get looked at for my outfits and what I was doing and here it is no big deal and they get it.

These photos were all taken on my iPhone X. Since it isn’t allowed to take pictures with a DSLR at this wall I had to use my phone. There is a guard who stands there watching you so I had to leave my camera in my bag. I did bring it as I had just shot my Beverly Hills pictures and went straight here after I shot those.
I actually like that I shot these with my iPhone X. I usually never do and it gave me a chance to experiment and play with it. I shot a lot of these in Portrait mode. I also used my phone to edit these. I use Lightroom to edit all my pictures nowadays and I have a desktop and mobile preset that I use to get the look of my pictures lately. If you couldn’t tell I have a pink theme going on and use them on all my pictures. I just used Lightroom Mobile and applied my preset, adjusted them to the way I liked and cropped out what I didn’t want all on my phone. I then used Snapseed to clean the shadows and ground up and this is the end result. I emailed them to myself and then I used my laptop to upload them and write this but the photography was all on my iPhone X. I think that is pretty cool and I think I got my money’s worth with my iPhone now that I can use it to shoot some content on it if I have to.
Get ready for all the Instagram content as well! At this rate I have so many pending Instagram pictures.
The title of this post is “Pink to Make The Boys Wink What I Wore” and that is because I have an inside joke with pink to make the boys wink saying so I had to title it that. I was struggling with what to call it and then in the Uber on the way to Melrose my housemate (who is taking my pictures by the way) and I started laughing about the saying and it just stuck. There’s more but I’m going to leave it at that. You had to be there to get the story and the real meaning on why we were laughing. I wasn’t even wearing this outfit yet. I was wearing the Beverly Hills green outfit. We had lunch before shooting this and at the restaurant I took advantage and changed my outfit in the restroom. I know I’m a real classy fashion blogger. I had to find some way to change so I went in with the green outfit and came out with a full on pink outfit. It’s what I do to get these pictures and I wouldn’t change what I do even if it is a little embarrassing at times.
So that was my day. I shoot two outfits in one day and got to tour a few popular spots in LA. There is so much more but so far I am enjoying seeing everything. If you have any recommendations then please let me know. Also if you have been to the pink wall here in Melrose then let me know if you have the iconic shot. I hope you enjoyed this outfit I wore to walk around Melrose and this very pink outfit!
