Neutral Glam Birthday Makeup Look
Happy Monday! So last Friday I shared what I wore on my birthday (which if you missed can be found here) but today I am sharing the makeup I wore with that outfit. I have been loving makeup and so have been doing my makeup more. I went for a neutral glam birthday makeup look and I wanted to share how it turned out. I actually filmed a get ready with me on my actually birthday night and featured my hair, makeup and outfit on my Youtube channel here and love how it turned out so I thought I would show you the products I used to create this neutral glam birthday makeup look!
As I’ve said I have been loving makeup an creating different looks. I usually go for the no makeup makeup look and it looks simple and like I’m not wearing makeup but lately I have been playing around with my makeup collection. Since it was my birthday I want to create a different look and play around for my special day. The base I wanted it to be as flawless as possible and been trying more high end bases to achieve that look. I’m working on disguising a bit of texture I have on my face and getting it as smooth as possible. I’m also working on a skincare routine that agrees with me and my skin so I can get as flawless of makeup application as possible. It is fun playing around and I’m getting there. My foundation was more smooth in person but with the camera settings, lighting and the preset I use I feel like it didn’t look the best in pictures.
Next I’m actually practicing how to contour my face better. I started using a cream contour and after watching so many Youtube makeup tutorials it isn’t as scary as I thought. I do need to work on that as well. Now for nose contour and getting a slimmer nose is something I’m trying to learn as I never did it before. I’m still trying and don’t think I got it yet but I will practice more. As for blush and highlight I’m still getting the hang of not putting too much of it on and then having to blend it out again. Same for brows I got a bit of a routine with it but I still feel like there is room for improvement to get those fierce Instagram brows and shape them better.
This is when my makeup was freshly applied right after I did it on my birthday. It has no filter on it like the others only the brightness turned up and I was standing in front of a huge window that gave amazing natural lighting so it made the makeup look better in my opinion. Here you can see the eyeshadow and I think I created a decent eye look. I don’t wear much eyeshadow but have a million eyeshadow palettes so I thought I should experiment more and create a neutral brown eye look for my birthday. I was going to go for a bold color but it didn’t match my outfit. I mean I know a natural brown eye is nothing special especially on a birthday night out but again I don’t wear too much eyeshadow so natural colors was easier for me to do. I did do a glitter brown all over my lid and a chocolate matte brown in my crease and blended both of them out as best I can. That is another thing Ii need to work on is my eyeshadow blending technique. I like the shape and how it turned out and I’m pretty proud of the look I created despite not wearing eyeshadow all that much. I’m getting great at wing liner and straight lines though after practicing but for me applying fake lashes is harder than creating a wing on my eye shape. Good thing I have fairly long and curled lashes so mascara usually does the trick so I don’t have to fight to put lashes on all the time.
Last is lips and I have been using a lip liner before lipstick which has changed my life. I’m starting to slightly over line my lips to give the illusion but I don’t really have big lips and I’m working with what I got so adding the extra step of lining them does help. I love lipstick and though I don’t have makeup on I can just swipe on some lipstick and I feel put together. I think lipstick over runs my collection and it is the most I have out of all the products. I do love all the lipstick colors and shades and I own.
Below is my get ready with me where I show my hair, makeup and outfit in action on the night of my birthday. I’m so happy with the editing and if you’d like to watch it or maybe subscribe then I would appreciate it. I’m trying to get back into doing videos and will be doing a few more on my channel soon and more vlogs.
That was my neutral glam birthday makeup look! I hope you liked the look I created. I plan on doing a post on showing you my everyday makeup products and what I use on a daily basis plus my favorites so let me know if you want to see that. Also if you want me to do more makeup and beauty related posts again. I do miss them but don’t think I can do reviews much anymore since I don’t have a proper set up at the moment but posts like these of the makeup I am wearing in my outfit posts. I hope you liked part two of what I was wearing on my 25th birthday and liked the beauty side to it and not just showing the outfit. Let me know how you get ready for a night out for a special occasion like a birthday or a simple night out makeup look as I’d love to know your go to!
Happy Birthday! This neutral glam is such a pretty look, not to much just the right amount. The colors that you used on your eyes are really nice!
