Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing a graduation outfit idea including a few tips on what to wear. Not only that but I am showing you graduation invites and cards to match so your stationary could also be perfect for your grad day. Since graduation just took place where I live and we are in the middle of summer break I thought it was the perfect time plus I think other schools will be done soon so graduation might be coming up in other countries. It actually has been 4 years since I graduated from college. I have a bachelors degree in communication and media and it seems like yesterday I was in class studying. So enough of my babbling and let’s see my graduation outfit idea and some grad invites and thank you cards to customize if you are graduating any time soon.

This is a great dress if you are looking for something to wear for graduation. It isn’t what I wore but something I would have. I mean you don’t have to go with your schools colors but for this blog post I did. However I was always the girl at school who went above and beyond on school spirit day and had a bow to match and dressed head to tow in the colors. I was that extra. It depends on your style so you can go simple or all out. Just be aware if you have a dress code as my college did but maybe yours won’t so just keep that in mind when choosing what you are going to wear.ย I’ve worn this dress a few times before on the blog but never just by itself. It is the perfect holiday theme dress as I’ve worn it with a white skirt on Valentine’s Day which you can find here and I wore this dress with a sweater over it on Christmas which is here. It is the perfect dress to wear casually or dress it up.
As for the rest of this graduation outfit, I kept it pretty simple with some diamond bow studs, a little bag to hold everything in and you can easily pass it to your parents to hold if you aren’t allowed a bag.
All my graduations I went for the sensible pair of shoes. My first graduation which I think I was 4 years old from kindergarten I had on a little heeled doll shoe. I am so surprised my mom let me wear a heel but she picked them out. I think you know the ones I am talking about those cute shiny white shoes with a bow on the toe and a slight heel. I have a picture somewhere so that is how I remember. I wore kitten heel sandals my 6th grade/elementary school graduation and let me tell you for my first time in “proper” heels I did an okay job an no I didn’t trip walking to the stage. My 8th grade/middle school gradation was on a grassy football field so heels was out of the question so instead I went with a slight wedge which gave me height but was super easy to walk in especially since the field was massive. I felt bad for all the girls in high heels who got the heel stick in the mud or did a bit of a stumble. My high school gradation I wore flats as we were only allowed to wear our uniforms and school shoes. The first time I wore flats is when I’m a lot older. You would think I would have worn flats in elementary not high school. Lastly my college graduation I went with similar shoes I am wearing in this picture. In college, we had to wear heels so I was a bit used to wearing 2-3 inch heels everyday. I went with a chunky heel as they are the easiest to walk in and look great.
My tip is judge where you will be walking and choose something you can walk in. If you can find comfort and style then I applaud you and you rock whatever foot wear for your graduation.
I wish I would have thought of this back when I graduated. I actually didn’t do invites or had any stationary made for it. I mean it was kind of a big deal as I was graduating college and finishing the last school of my life but I didn’t make it a big deal. If I had though then I would have loved having matching invitations in my school colors to hand out to my whole family and maybe thank you cards for coming or sending gifts. That’s why when Basic Invite showed me what they offered I had to share.
They have so many options and customization on everything likeย graduation party announcementsย and much more on their website. I loved looking through it and here are a few things they do to get that customized card perfect for you.

Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. This is what we feel sets us apart from almost any other online stationery company and is what we feel is our biggest draw.
Custom Samplesย – Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before they ever have to place their final order.

Customers can choose from over 40 different colors when it comes to their envelopes so that they can make their invitation stand out even before it is opened. All of our envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed.

In the first set of pictures I show you my outfit but as a little twist I paired it with my alumni jacket I got when I was in my freshman year of college. I think that year my college was in the championship so they collaborated with Adidas and did this jacket. I bought it at the Adidas store and my college won the championship the whole four years I was studying there. The second set of pictures I posed with it and you can see where I went to college. I don’t think I ever mentioned where I went on the blog but I have mentioned my studies and did a few blog posts back when I first started this blog about my course and what I was studying. It seems so surreal to be sharing it with you now.
I actually haven’t worn it until now. I hardly went to any of the sporting events except sports day but we were provided with our own t-shirts with our course names. Other than that I had no chance in wearing it so I’ve kept it in my closet. Of course I’m not going to get rid of it as it is a souvenir from my alma mater. I didn’t buy it on campus and bought it at the Adidas store in the mall and I think it’s the only “designer” or name brand thing I own. So I guess I do own something by a big brand. I might have shot another fitness inspired outfit wearing this jacket so maybe stay tuned for that. It is technically a men’s jacket and as you can see a bit big on me but I make it work and you can clearly see you can make it a unisex jacket fit for both genders. I’m kind of happy I got to use it and incorporated it in a blog post.

Also yes that is my college grad picture but it was the one my dad carries around in his wallet so it is a bit wrinkled and well loved from showing everyone he meets it. I borrowed it for the flatlay as I can’t find any extras. I did my own hair and makeup in my grad picture and love how it turned out. The medal is from middle school and not college. I wanted to add several elements from all my graduations in a flatlay but couldn’t find anything else so I got this picture instead.
That was my graduation outfit idea plus some stationary to match as well as some tips I have for what to wear for your graduation. I enjoyed writing this and it made me look back on all my graduations. I loved every graduation I had and can remember all of them including my kindergarten one. I’ve always thought of getting a masters degree so I can do it again and get some grad cards to announce it and some invites but do I really want to go back to school? Not right now but maybe in the future. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and got an idea of what to wear for graduation as well as a few of my wardrobe tips. Again, thank you to Basic Invite for working with me on this blog post. I generally use services like this and have been using it on my cousin’s occasions as well as my own. So please let me know your thoughts on it!
I see some of the graduation invites being sent out today and I’m jealous! We didn’t have anything like that when I graduated!
Thanks Alayna! I know it is so cool they have those now and I feel left out.

That dress looks so cute on you! I remember doing high school graduation announcements but I didn’t do one for college because, haha, I can’t remember why.
Thanks! I would have loved to do them for both but at least you sent out high school ones.
