My Thoughts On The iPhone X So Far
Happy Friday! Today’s going to be a bit of tech post. I don’t normally do posts like this but I was feeling like I could share my thoughts on the iPhone X so far. I’ve had this for exactly a month and I wanted to write how I’ve been getting on with it and let you know a bit of how I’ve been using it. So let’s hear about my thoughts on the Apple iPhone X.
I treated myself to the iPhone X as an early birthday present to myself. I had an upgrade available and I finally bit the bullet and got me the latest iPhone. I use my iPhone as long as possible. I used my iPhone 4S for 3 years and my last one was the iPhone 6 and used that for almost 3 years so I think it was self-explanatory for me to upgrade my iPhone finally. I use my phone a lot, emails, photographs, editing, I am usually always on my phone doing something and notice I was using it a lot more the past couple of months. I go in cycles of loving being on my phone to not picking it up until the end of the day as I was too busy on my iPad and laptop. My iPhone 6 was just fine but I went over to my phone company and the lady who has helped us since I got my first phone with her 8 years ago now. I decided to take the plunge and buy the iPhone X after much debate whether to get the 8 or the X but the X won as I never had the latest iPhone so I thought it was finally time and jump on the hype. Knowing me though I will be using this for 3 years again before I upgrade again. Who knows? I’m so excited to have a new iPhone and I always do and since it is so long in between my new phones it is even more exciting for me to set up and play with and that is what I’ve been doing.

The Pros
The Size – So the iPhone X is the perfect size and yet it has a large beautiful crisp AMOLED display. It’s pretty hefty to hold and it fits in my jeans pocket or any of my small clutch bags.
The Camera – It is incredible. One of the reasons I upgraded and choose this phone. I was so intrigued with the portrait mode and it blew me away. I have been using it for my Instagram pictures and love using Instastory so much ore because of it. I honestly think it’s the best iPhone camera I’ve had and I’m so impressed with it.
The Screen – Of course the screen is amazing. It was a bit weird at first and I needed to get use to not having the frame. It is so cool though and the iPhone X is all screen with practically no border. I feel like I’m using some advance technology. I can’t describe it but it’s just so fun to have. It is really easy to see everything and it’s been such a pleasure to have everything right there on screen.

No Button – I’m used to having the button and pushing it then putting in my code to unlock it. I don’t have the face recognition turned on. I double tap it to turn it on and then put the code. I hear that having the face recognition is a pain and you have to unlock it twice. I sometimes pick it up upside down as there isn’t a button to indicate the top and bottom. I have to tap it to see or feel the back for the camera. I miss that classic button.
No Headphone Jack – This was a deciding factor. I know the latest releases of the iPhone they got rid of the headphone jack. My 6 has it and it’s easy to plug in headphones and listen to music and when I watch Youtube or Instastories. I forget that I need the adapter which honestly is still in the box as I haven’t tried it yet. I thought it wouldn’t bug me as I have wireless Bluetooth headphones and just use them but when I want to watch something quick I can’t just plug headphones in. So that was a con for me but it’s a small problem and I can look past it.

I’m honestly loving it. There’s still a few things I”m getting used to like the new gestures of swiping different directions than before and like having the the wifi menu on the top instead of the control center on the bottom. Now, I’m pretty good at maneuvering around. I still use my old iPhone 6 and I can’t believe the difference in quality when it comes to the screens! It’s obviously a lot faster and the screen is not as clear and big plus the frame makes it feel like it is squared off and everything is a bit smaller on screen. I get confused with both of them sometimes and I swipe up to close apps when I’m on my old iPhone.
Also I forgot to comment on the battery life which is much better. If I’m not using it a lot I can leave it for 2 days. Honestly, I’ve not had any bad luck with any of my batteries so I’m just lucky but this one is pretty good. I know a lot chose not to get this and I get it but overall I do love the iPhone X and I don’t regret upgrading to it.
It did take me a while to decide which iPhone to upgrade to. I knew I wanted a new one but it was pretty hard. I got the iPhone 6 in 2015 when I was in fashion school and taking class which seems like ages ago now. I did do all my research and got all the info I could on which model was best for me. I wish I could have discovered productscorer.com to help me out when I was deciding. It would have been so easy and it has so many reviews of different products. You can compare and look at similar products as I was deciding to go with the iPhone X or the iPhone 8. In the end though my deciding factor was the one everyone was talking about. I never had the latest one and I go for the one that is on deal right before a new one comes out but this time it lined up and I got the iPhone X and so far I love it so much.
Those were my thoughts on the iPhone X so far and my experience with the latest iPhone offering. I do like it and I’m so excited to find more cases to protect it with. I did forget to add I got it in the space grey option which is the white back which is what I wanted. It actually is so weird that I have a black phone as I’m so used to being white and then I turn it around and it is white. The screen just makes it look black and I honestly forget about it all the time now and just think I have a pretty phone. This is also the first phone that I have in 64GB which my last two iPhones have been only 16GB so I was so used to having such little space but now I can do so much and I can now take pictures and add the apps I want now without having to worry. Honestly I’m so happy with it. I know I don’t do too much of these posts but if you want to see more tech kind of posts then please let me know. I’ve done one with my iPhone 4S, my iPhone 6 and my Sony A5000 camera. So check those out if you’d like. I’m going to be on my phone all day now!
Thanks for the pros & con list! I was actually wondering if I should get this phone or not since I’m in dire need of a new one now. I have the 6s. How BIG of a change is it from the 6? Lol
Thanks! It was a big change for me since I don’t have the latest OS and the gestures and style was different for me. The size isn’t too bad but I feel that the X is a bit thicker to hold. I hope that helps!
