Plus Size Fitness Inspired Outfit | What I Wore

Happy Friday! Today’s outfit is my plus size fitness inspired outfit! There were many sales on active wear the first of the year so I took advantage and bought a few things to motivate me to start a fitness class. I thought wearing something cute to workout in would be the push I needed and it has. I got my cousin and I matching workout leggings and sports bra so we could be twinning to take a barre class together. We unfortunately still haven’t been but that doesn’t mean I haven’t used my set. Though my outfit isn’t the most practical to wear to the gym but it is comfortable for everyday wear. That is why it is my plus size fitness inspired outfit and I wanted to share it with you!

I’m a very girly girl and love to wear skirts and dresses with heels and sandals but some days I just want to be comfortable. So I go for an outfit like this. It has a bit of my girly style in it but I call this my casual look. It’s my go to when I want to out to run errands or go shopping at the mall. I wear this more often than I’d like to admit. There’s days where I love to dress like this and ones where I want to dress like a princess like this one here.

Fitness Inspired

Obviously this is fitness inspired and not really what I would wear to some sort of class. I took the classic go to the gym look and mixed it with what I would wear for everyday. I would wear the yoga pants I think that’s what they are called. I still have no idea what to call them. I usually wear normal leggings out and never tried sport kind of ones. I thought they would be the same but they are much more fitted and hold everything in place when your being active which I like. I do wear a loose fitted tee as well and some decent trainers and that is what my typical active wear outfit looks like.

As a curvy girl it is hard to find some flattering active wear. At first I was scared to wear clothes like this because I was afraid I wouldn’t look good but I was wrong. I was also anxious to as I’m of a bigger size and would be judged but actually it is so good. I love dance class and once I got started with it again it totally is helping my confidence. So this outfit was inspired by fitness and everyday style.

Outfit Details

The top is pretty old now and I wish I could buy another one. I wore it a few times before here and here and I still love it. It can be the perfect workout top as well. The yoga leggings are so flattering and I wish I discovered wearing them sooner. I love the cutouts to the side and the mesh detail makes them very breathable. They’re also seamless and they are life changing. I have to be careful with the mesh and what underwear I wear but to solve that I wear this long grey H&M cardigan to cover up. It’s been my go to cardigan when I need an extra layer to wear over something like this.

As for the accessories, instead of a gym bag I paired it with a backpack. I think it matched so well with the outfit. The colors and everything compliment each other. The shoes I paired it with my white lace sneakers which I have been wearing a lot lately. They are so comfy and I just throw them on and head out the door. I’m usually not one for sneakers but now I changed my mind and love them. I then paired some sunglasses and brought them out as the sun has been nice and bright. Last I paired a lilac bow to match the colors in my top and the glitter of the pouch in the backpack. And that’s my outfit.

Call it Spring Backpack

With being more active lately I have not only gotten into workout wear but also the accessories that come with it. I’m currently looking for a gym bag which is practical and pretty because if you know me I have to have both and not choose just one. I still haven’t found the perfect one but I’m hoping to. Next is the water bottle. I drink tons of water even if I’m not active. I can easily drink the recommended amount of water and even more so I don’t need one to motivate me to drink water but I need one to just take with me. There’s something new from Waiakea and is a biodegradable water bottle made from volcanic water. It would be helpful and good for the environment. Also more accessories I have is maybe a yoga mat. I’m not sure if I should invest in one yet. I’m looking into buying a cuter pair of athletic shoes as well. There are a few things on my fitness wish list. I mean there’s probably more and I need to get into a better routine and then maybe I will.

That was my plus size fitness inspired outfit to maybe motivate you or get you looking at your workout wear in a new way. I’m obsessed with this outfit that I wore it out again just the other day. I just came up with it because I needed an outfit for something and then I put it together and once it was on I loved it. This outfit is part of a lookbook coming soon. It will be coming out soon and the location was so fun so that’s a little hint on where I shot this and what the theme of the lookbook will be about. I’m so excited to share that with you soon. So I guess that is for this outfit and hope you got some workout wear inspiration from this!
