Treat Yourself (Valentine’s Edition)
I don’t necessarily celebrate the holiday of how it is supposed to be celebrated but I dress up for fun. I always loved the holiday since I was in elementary school and just to celebrate love of all kinds. I love dressing up for it and giving little gifts to those close to me but since I don’t have someone to treat me for Valentine’s Day so I treated myself and that is what I did.
Ever since I planned a coffee date with Jelly we talked about doing this more often and going out to try new places and experience new foods and just hang out a few times a month. We get together and she helps out by planning content with me, shooting it for me and then I edited and put it out. It’s been nice to have one of your closet cousin do all this and so I treated her for Valentine’s Day as a little thank you. I mean we went to shoot pictures too but it was nice and we had fun.
We did go out to actual dinner afterwards. I know dessert before dinner but I’m an adult and she just turned 18 so we could do whatever we want. Not only did both of us go to dinner but I took her dad and her mom out as well and they had a Valentine’s date night with us. It was fun and we had good food and talked through the whole thing. Even though I didn’t have that one special guy to take me out on a date I had my favorite people with me and it was still good company.
Also I did buy my own self Valentine’s Day balloons and I have been doing ti for a few years now so it’s kind of a tradition of mine. I’m going to keep doing it until I get a boyfriend to do it for me. Let’s hope it happens so I can stop buying balloons.
Cupcake Date
The first thing I did was I went on a cupcake date with Jelly! I have been planning this since our coffee date. I knew this would be perfect and we do love these sorts of things. We love food and cutesy things so it was obvious it would be a perfect us. We got milkshakes and cupcakes and chit chatted. I went for a strawberry milkshake and pink cupcake to match my pink outfit. Jelly didn’t care for aesthetics like I do so she just got what sounded good which was a salted caramel cupcake and a java mocha frappacino. Both were amazing and we had a great time. Vanilla Cupcake Bakery has been featured before on my blog back in 2015 and I haven’t been back since. The interior is still as pretty with all the cutesy decor and the marble tabletops are a bloggers dream.
Treat Myself
As a Valentine’s gift to myself I bought myself this bag. Before Christmas I saw this bag and wanted it. I knew I was getting my black velvet pearl bag you have seen in all my recent outfits. So I just lusted after it and if someone volunteered to get it for me then that would be great. It didn’t happen and I decided maybe I should buy it as a New years gift. I know I’m crazy but I have a bag problem I know. When I went back for the bag it was already sold out in the color I wanted and though they had a red and blue one to choose from I was set on blush pink. I tested it to see if it would fit my iPad Air but unfortunately it didn’t and that was a selling point for me and I would have justified getting one even if they didn’t have the color I wanted. I was buying so many small bags that I couldn’t take my iPad or much else with me. It meant I saved money though.
Then last week when I was paying my Internet and cell phone bill at the mall I felt a bit cheeky and went to the department store in another mall from when I saw the first bag. I was with Jelly and we spotted it at the same time and she remembered it was the one I was trying to get in late December. Apparently there is two sizes and the one I saw previously was the smaller size and so it didn’t fit but they had a large size in blush pink. Like other bags it was like fate and I knew we were meant to be. I didn’t have my iPad on me so I couldn’t check it but they said I can return it if it doesn’t. In the end I bought it and it fits the iPad and a lot more. It is fairly big and the biggest I own in this sort of style. It has all the things I wanted in a bag and I was tempted not to get it but like another bag jelly was there to convince me and I listened because the bag we bought together before I got my money’s worth and use it so much. So I treated myself and here is my current bag which you will probably seeing more of.
Binge Watch TV
I love watching TV and it is how I spend my past time. So I spent the evening after I got back just watching Netflix. Right now I am obessed with the Arrowverse which is all four of the CW superhero shows. I started watching The Flash and then Arrow and then Supergirl and lastly the DC Legends of Tomorrow and I have binge-watching them and I love the episodes when they all get together. I was never one to like those shows before but my cousin go me hooked after watching Justice League last year so now I’m loving it and I’ve been watching it in the background while I blog and doing other stuff.
Pamper Myself
I had a good pamper. I got my nails done, washed my hair and did a hair mask and basically just treated my night like I was at a spa but still at home. It was amazing and I should do it more often as it is so relaxing especially when you get in bed with fresh sheets and pajamas. I was definitely loving that and it was a nice end to the night.
That was how I spent my Valentine’s. It might not have been the most romantic or I didn’t even celebrate it how it was meant to be but I was still surrounded by love and I think that is what it’s meant to be. You never know maybe one of these days I will tell you how I spent Valentine’s romantically and gush all about it but for now that is what I did and I had the best time. A cupcake date, pamper session, binge watching TV and a new bag purchase. That is what I’m all about and it was the best a girl could ask for. So that was how I spent love day. Let me know if you did anything or did something like me. I hope you did and had a great one and if not then enjoy the weekend!
