Gingham Bow
Happy Wednesday! Today I’m sharing one of my favorite outfits I wore this month. I am styling this gingham top. I actually don’t think I’ve worn gingham before or if I have it was as a little girl. I saw last year it was a very popular print and I know I’m a bit late with the trend but oh well. I bought this top recently and I was excited to see how I style it. The main detail of this top is obviously the back. I love when tops look so simple in the front and then have something fun in the back. This one has three bows that you can tie into a bow and you know me and bows. So here is how I styled this gingham print with bow ties back style top.
I do love gingham and can’t believe I haven’t tried it as it was everywhere last spring. I did buy a top but when I got home the top had sleeves that were too tight for me so it went to my cousin Jelly. I then forgot about the print until I got this top. I kind of regret not getting the print sooner as it is so chic and I kind of like it better than stripes. As for the back it is so me and it has these ties which you can just tie once or make it into a bow. I obviously prefer the bow and it makes it more feminine and girly. It sort of has a peplum shape to it and sheering in the front. Also it is a bit cropped as well. I’m unsure of the cut of this top as it can be unflattering on so I had to be careful in styling it with bottoms. So I just went casual and paired it with my ripped black skinny jeans that have been an essential in my wardrobe. Then I took my everyday bag I have been using at the moment which is my velvet pearl bag and it made the outfit. Since the whole outfit was looking very casual the top didn’t seem casual so I paired some ruffle heeled sandals and again it added a touch of girly too. Last detail was a black wool beret. You would think that I would pair a bow tie top with a bow in my hair but no I went something different for once. I love my red beret I wore in December and it made me embrace hats more so I went out and bought a black on from Topshop. I could have added the red one to add a pop of red which I love to do but something about a mostly black outfit this time of year really made me go with black.

That was how I styled this gingham print top. It sort of reminds me of a Parisian styled outfit a bit and I love the whole vibe of this outfit. I love that it is me still but a bit different as well. I enjoyed styling this outfit together and I can’t believe I was almost not going to buy the top. I’m glad I decided to as I love it. When I wore this that day I felt so confident and walked around the mall feeling like such a girl boss. I love when outfits make you feel good and make you feel like you can do anything. So I hope you liked how I styled this outfit and let me know how you would style a top like this and if you own anything in the gingham print. I need to find others ways to style this top and maybe buy more gingham print now. I better hit up the shops then and see what I find.

What way would you style gingham to fit your aesthetic?

That's such a cute top! I'm a sucker for bows as well haha I'd definitely style gingham with a bright coat while keeping everything very neutral, in only blacks and whites.Marta – http://www.aroundcolours.com
