Pearls, Feathers & Velvet
Happy Monday! Today’s outfit is a bit over due as it was what I wore for New Years Eve. I’m catching up with my content after my break from laptop. I also revamped my laptop and after all the stuff I did on it and over worked it in December it was good I did a bit of a refresh for it like I did myself. I did shoot this a couple days after NYE again like I did the previous year. One of these years I will shoot it on the day of or before but this year wasn’t the one. I am quite happy with how it turned out and I waited for NYE to wear it but I was supposed to wear it in Baguio but I am so glad I didn’t there as it is the perfect New Years outfit.
For what I’m wearing I have a certain theme as you can see going on. I love pearls an now that it is on trend and so popular I get to wear them more and not only in earrings. This is the sweater I bought online at H&M. It is the one I saw so many other fashion bloggers were wearing. I gave in and I love it to so I get the hype. It is a bit oversized. I accidentally got it 2 sizes too big but I made it work and had to tuck it in to my skirt and roll the sleeves up. I suggest sizing down even though you want an oversized look because it is oversized on its own. The skirt is something I bought a few months ago as I knew when I saw it that it would be the perfect holiday skirt and it is. I love the texture and the feathers and fringe make it so swirly and swishy. It is a bit short and I’m 5’9 so a bit of a warning if you may be taller than I am. Other than that I made the two work and styled them together.
I wanted to gush about my bag for a minute so bare with me. I saw this bag at the beginning of November and instantly fell in love. I was so in love I was going to buy it then but stopped myself. Then I came back in the middle of November and again couldn’t stop thinking about it so I asked the price. It wasn’t as bad as I was thinking but I stopped myself again. I realized that it was December coming up meaning Christmas so I told my dad and cousin that it would make a great gift to get me. I even put it in my Christmas wish list here. So on December 1st my dad brought me to that mall and told me to show me where I saw the bag and I did and he bought it for me. So I decided to wrap it up and open it for Christmas and that was what I did so instead of using it right away and I knew I had it in my possession I waited until Christmas morning like a good girl and it was hard staring at the wrapped present under the tree. That is why in Vlogmas you see me have an exaggerated reaction because I knew what it was. It was fun though and my dad was so thoughtful to offer to get it for me as he knew I really wanted it. So it is in my top presents I got.
For my jewelry and my accessories beside my gorgeous bag, I focused on the pearl theme. My earrings are vintage pearl ones that I got from my mother. I was going through her jewelry box and I found them and I knew they would be perfect for this outfit and a lot of dressy occasion outfits too. Of course my pearl bracelets that I love wearing and I had to wear it with this outfit. My shoes are new and sort of a Christmas present to myself as I bought them a week before for a Christmas outfit as I didn’t have any black heels of this height because mine was too high and I couldn’t wear them comfortably so I justified them and they are the perfect height and look so cute with the ruffle and they are also velvet which is nice. I don’t have a bow with this outfit but I was supposed to wear my black velvet one but instead I had a NYE headband which I wore here.

That was my outfit for NYE! I absolutely love it and it was just the right look to start off the new year. I did have a pretty difficult time shooting this outfit because I woke up with a bad cold. I had no voice in the morning as soon as I got up, had a blocked nose, bad cough and I was feeling like such a mess and didn’t feel good. I think I even had a fever but I had already planned to shoot that day so I went on with it. The pictures still turned out great and I felt okay afterwards and got some sleep when I got home. I hate having the flu and I’m feeling a bit better and have my voice back but I do have a slight cough and my nose is still stuffed up but I’m better than I was on this day. There are no sick days for me but it felt nice getting out of the house. I do have some fun outtakes of me yawning while shooting these which are so embarrassing and hope no one ever sees them as they are hilarious. So that is what I am up to and my sick days last week. Again, I’m hoping to get back on my blogging and video schedule so stay tuned for more outfits and blog content. I hope you have a fab start to the week lovelies!
