Goodbye 2017 | A Year Worth of Memories

My 2017 Top Moments

Happy Tuesday! Today’s blog post is a bit late but I wanted to collect all the pictures and recall all of the highlights from my year. It took me a while to remember what happened this year and get all of the pictures together. I still wanted to share with you all of my amazing moments I had last year and like I have from previous years. 2017 was quite a year! I couldn’t say that about most of my years as they didn’t treat me well especially 2016 but 2017 proved me wrong and I was finally sad to let go of a year. I mean 2017 had it’s downs but they weren’t like my previous years where I wanted a new year to come faster. 2017 proved to be one of my favorite years in a long time. So today’s post is going to be a look back of my highlights from the year. That is why I love having this blog where I can share my happiest moments and look back on them.

Now like a lot of other bloggers and people online this is my highlight reel from 2017. Though there were bad moments I try not to share those times. I can remember one in particular that will never leave me. One of my best memories from 2017 was of me singing in the car with my cousin Jelly in a parking lot but on the other hand it was one of the hardest days. I was vlogging that day and you should have seen me before picking up the camera. I was crying and felt the lowest I ever felt. My cousin was there for me and I had someone to talk to. I was doing Vlogtober and hadn’t vlogged that day. I knew I needed to so I cleaned myself up and put on a fake smile for the camera. At first it was fake and I just explained my day minus the detail of me being down and crying my eyes out about something stupid a few hours before. Since we were in a car and I had just watched a Carpool Karaoke the night before I decided to put on some music and my cousin and I sang along and lip synced to our favorite songs. My smile turned into a real one as we laughed when we got the lyrics wrong. Then we went shopping together and laughed for the rest of the day. The beginning of the day was so dark and I thought it was going to be terrible but one small act made it one of the best days. I’m sharing that with you because the rest of this post is all of my highlights and though I have some not so good ones like that day I wanted to document it here.

Here are my top moments of 2017 as well as some of my favorite pictures from throughout the year.

2017 Fond Memories

The Small Details

Before I share the “big” moments of 2017, I thought I would share a few of the small ones that made my year just as memorable. The first would be going to see Fifth Harmony in concert last April. They were amazing and I enjoyed every second of it singing along. There is a vlog of that night on my channel here. I even paid for my ticket with my blog earnings which is so cool as well that I could do that. Next was an early birthday present which was my new second camera that I use for vlogging. I did a first impression of it on the blog here and did an unboxing video here. Another highlight is winning best dressed at the Project Vanity blogger event and that was so cool. I never won anything like that and I felt like an absolute princess in the outfit I wore. I actually never blogged the outfit but I think maybe I should this year. There is a vlog of that day and I managed to film the moment I won here. I went to 2 Youtube events in 2017! First in May I went to Youtube Fanfest again which was so fun and I took my cousin’s and they got to experience it with me which made it more memorable and then I went to It’s a Girl Thing with Jelly where I saw my favorite female Youtubers in person and speak about empowerment. I have a vlog from YTFF and IAGT here and here. I told you I vlogged a lot and have a lot of these fun moments captured for the future. Last is just taking pictures this year. I loved taking pictures and have so many.

Palawan Summer Vacation

On April 15, 2017, I finally got on a plane again after 7 years and flew to Palawan. I booked the tickets September 2016 and counted down the days until I went. It is definitely one of my top moments. I paid for the whole trip with my earnings from my blog and I cannot believe that. It is so surreal and I will treasure that trip forever.I spent ten days there and I even celebrated my 24th birthday there. I went snorkeling for the first time. I went on so many boat rides. I went to so many beautiful beaches. I caught up with family that I hadn’t met before. I had so many adventures and enjoyed my summer vacation. I got to take some cute summer outfit pictures and got a tan. For once I enjoyed my summer and it was the best summer in forever. Of course I vlogged the whole trip in my first travel vlog series and you can watch all my summer fun here.

Being More Body Positive

The year brought me to be more positive with my body.Something clicked in my head and made me realize that I should just do it. I posed in just my swimsuit on the beach and have pictures of me. Years ago I would laugh at you for telling me I would post them on my blog. I now have so many swimsuit pictures and posting more and more outfit pictures. I am definitely way more confident with my body and hope to keep it that way. I’m going to improve on my body, my confidence and on myself to be the best I ever will be. I also started to blog more about body confidence and you can find all my post about that under the tag here. So here’s to body positivity and how 2017 made me body confident.

Family Bonding

Like in 2016, I said I reconnected with my family. It was one of my highlights that year and it carried over to this year. I bonded even more with my cousin’s family. I spent so many days and nights over there and got to talk with them, have parties with them and sing karaoke until the morning with them. We’ve went on several outings and all of which are so memorable. So I had to add it as a top moment.

Staycation at Estancia Tagaytay

A massive moment of 2017 besides my travels was this travel opportunity. On Facebook I follow a group and one topic was a blogger contacted a hotel and offered her a free stay. I know this is common and it probably happens everyday but I got curious. I know I’m not a blogger with a huge following but I thought I would try my luck and contact local hotels. Well one got back and offered me a weekend stay for me and my parents. When I got the email I screamed my house down and my parent’s forgave me when I told them the news and they then got excited for me. I couldn’t believe it. A hotel was willing to offer me a free stay just to blog about their facility. I am so grateful and this blog got me there. I did so many blog posts and a vlog about the whole stay here. It was so fun and I enjoyed creating so much content for it. It is definitely in my top 3 moments and I wish to create more just like this one in 2018.

Jelly & My Blog Assistant

2017 brought me a blog assistant well a part time blog assistant anyway with my cousin Jelly. She has been helping me and taking my outfit pictures. You may have noticed her as I mention her here and there on here and in my videos since she films my videos for me too. She has been a huge help and I have been so happy with the results of my content because of her even though I give her a hard time about it. Jelly and I are second cousins but I shorten it and say my cousin. Also yes Jelly is her name. We grew up together but we are 6 years in age apart. I’ve always wanted a little sister. I begged for one as a little girl but never got one until Jelly. Jelly is like a little sister to me. She always has been. Ask anyone in the family and they would tell you we are so close. We are always attached at the hip. Everyone said she was my favorite and that I was biased. I guess it is a bit true. I always favored her and I see that. Until now it probably still shows. We do so much together and over the past year grew closer again. I could talk to her about anything and everything (also about a particular subject about a certain someone who I think she is probably tired of hearing about now) and she will listen to it all. I’m so glad she is helping me with my blog and hopefully we can continue in 2018.

Jelly has been one of the best things that has happened to me in 2017 so I obviously had to include her in one of my top memories for the year.

Jelly’s 18th Birthday Party & Debut

Jelly also turned 18 this year. She is 18 years old and I still can’t wrap my head around that. She is officially a legal adult. That is so strange because I still think I just turned 18 sometimes. We aren’t tiny babies anymore. She didn’t want an eighteenth birthday party. She was fine without one but I felt bad as I loved mine and had a huge celebration. She wasn’t there unfortunately but it would have been nice so to make up for that I decided to plan her one. I got my whole family together and we all pitched in and threw her an eighteen birthday party or in our tradition a Debut. I bought her a dress, shoes, we got our nails done, I took her invitation and tarpaulin pictures for a pre-debut photoshoot and pretty much put in so much effort to make her 18th birthday special. I think she enjoyed it and the look on her face that day made it even more special that I could do that for her. Of course her 18th birthday had to make my top moments of 2017!

Baguio Winter Vacation

Travel was a big part of 2017 for me! Not only did I go to Palawan and a staycation in Tagaytay but I went to Baguio. It was one of my dream destinations that I had on my travel list for the year and I manged to make it. I wanted somewhere cold and I got cold. I got to shoot so many winter looks and outfits which is quite the opposite of what I wore in Palawan that’s for sure. I got to visit somewhere new and go to a different place. It was so fun but the highlight was definetly taking my family. As you see there was a lot of us and we took a lot of group pictures at every place we went. They made the trip enjoyable and I’m glad they decided to tag along with me. The Airbnb was huge and we got to spend it all together for 5 days. It was such a fun vacation before the holidays and it is one of my top moments for sure. I vlogged it and it is in Vlogmas so you can watch it there. I’m still going to post my photo and travel diary for Baguio so stay tuned for that but I do have my travel outfits up. I just wanted to take my time and really get everything sorted and the holiday content up before I did any of my travel post on Baguio.

Vlogmas & December

This is quite recent but it was still a highlight. December was such a great month and I just did a blog post on my favorite moments that happened that month so I won’t repeat myself too much. You can read that about here. I completed Vlogmas. I thought at first I was going to attempt it because it sounded fun and I had so much going on that it would be perfect to vlog my month. I have watched other people’s Vlogmas since I can remember and I tried it in 2016 and loved it but I did it weekly. I then decided why not try doing it daily and so I did. I vlogged for 25 days and enjoyed it all even though I missed uploading it daily I still feel like I accomplished it and doing a good job. It was definitely a fun moment. I picked my favorite thumbnails from Vlogmas and if you want to watch all 25 days and see what I did in December then I have a playlist of all the videos to watch in one place on my channel here. I think that was the best moment to end my 2017!

Those were my top moments of 2017! Each memory I hold dear and I’m so glad I could share them with you. I can’t wait to see what 2018 holds and what my top moments will be. I hope you enjoyed looking back and enjoyed the pictures I have taken over the year. I guess that is it and here’s to the memories I make in 2018!

What moment from 2017 would you love to do keep replaying in your head?
