The Magical Holiday Season
Happy Blogmas day 5! It’s the fifth day of the most wonderful time of year and I’m currently sat here on my laptop typing this while I’m on my winter vacation surrounded by trees, Christmas lights and the cold weather. It got me thinking about how much I love this time of year and how happy it makes me. So I thought I would just list the things that have me so excited and why I love the holiday season.
Putting the Christmas Tree Up
This is the first thing that gets me excited and I know that the holidays are coming. I still honor the tradition of putting the tree up after Thanksgiving even though here in the Philippines they do it in October and my family tries to convince me but I stand my ground and wait. Every year though I wait for the time I can put it up again and decorating it.
Christmas Songs & Movies
With the holiday season that means it is acceptable to sing along to my favorite Christmas songs and listen to them at home, in the car, or anywhere to put you in a festive mood. As for Christmas movies, I enjoy cuddling up on the sofa in some festive pajamas watching some childhood favorites, classics and more recent ones.
Christmas Sweaters
Over the past few years I’ve gotten so into Christmas sweaters and have built up quite a collection. They are so fun and something about a warm and fluffy sweater with a festive design reminds me so much of the holiday season.
Getting to wear pretty Christmas dresses and accessories
Of course Christmas sweaters are fun and casual but there is something about dressing up for the holidays in a sparkly dress. Also I love all the fun accessories including bows, Santa hats, reindeer headbands, Christmas themed jewellery and more that I get excited to wear this time of year.
Baking Christmas goods
Nothing better than baking but baking the holidays is even funner. I do love a good festive treat like gingerbread man or Christmas tree sugar cookies. No matter the dessert I love baking and eating holiday goods and don’t feel guilty as it is the holidays after all.
Holiday shopping and buying every one’s gifts
There are so many sales left and right and you get sucked in. It’s also so thrilling getting the perfect gift for your loved one and the excitement of finding just what they wanted is so thrilling. I love shopping but during the holidays it is just a whole lot better.
Getting to do festive content
When it gets close to the holidays I get excited that I can do Blogmas and all the fun holiday content I can create. It makes the season more exciting and I have more things to do and celebrate. I plan a month in advance just so I can express my creative side of doing holiday related things.
Doing Christmas things with family
Lastly and probably the most important is getting to spend Christmas with family and doing fun things with them from putting the Christmas tree up, watching and sing to Christmas movies and songs, dressing up and baking with them and of course buying gifts. I love how close everyone gets around this time of year and spending it with people you love is always a reason to celebrate that.
Those were a few things that get me excited for the holidays. I love this time of year if you couldn’t tell. Whenever I see anything Christmas related I feel like a little girl
again and seeing everything look all magical and being in the Christmas
spirit is the real reason I get excited for the holiday season. I hope we share a few things in common to get excited for but tell me your reasons as well as I’d love to know. See you again for another Blogmas post tomorrow!
Only 20 days until Christmas!
