Hyped Up Makeup Sponge & Brushes
Happy Monday! Today’s beauty post on some makeup brushes and a makeup sponge. To be honest I haven’t tried anything from Real Techniques until now. I know I’m not a very good blogger but hey better late than never. I’ve been meaning to pick some up and it is quite accessible nowadays so that isn’t an excuse anymore but I just never got around to it. Now I have some and so I couldn’t wait to see the hype. These are so hyped up so I had some great expectations with this. So here is my first impression I guess of me trying a few things from Real Techniques.
| Expert Face Brush // Setting Brush // Makeup Complexion Sponge |
I bought these at the SM Beauty Section inside The SM Store in SM Mall of Asia. There was a stand there and had a few of the brushes. It took me a while but I settled on two of the brushes that I knew I would get a lot of use out of and ones I didn’t already own in my collection. The setting brush was 560php, the expert face brush was 650php and the makeup sponge was 450php. Not too bad of a price I guess. There are a lot of places to get these brushes now and I wanted to buy them in person and see them at first and now I can just get a few online if I want. There are a few places online that sale the legit ones like Zalora, Kalm Cosmetics and Beauty MNL. I’m sure there are more but those are a few places I saw when browsing.
The packaging is really nice. It was hard to open and it took me a few minutes to figure out how to get inside of it and get them out but in the end I get there and pull them out. On the back has all the info.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
This is the first Real Techniques item I purchased but never got to trying it until recently. I lost it and when I cleaned my room I found it again unused so I had to know. I have been loving using beauty sponges and got on to that bandwagon. I’ve tried a cheaper option I got at the drugstore and one from Daiso which are amazing and it converted me over to using a sponge. Now trying this I do love it. I mean it does compare to my cheaper alternatives but I do love the bounce of this and it gives me a nice flawless base and really buffs my foundation in. I like the slight edge to it as the ones I have are like eggs but this blends it better for some reason and does a good job smoothing the foundation throughout my face. I think I would purchase it again if I need a new one to replace my current one.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
The first brush I ever tried! I bought this after so many recommendations and seeing it in tutorial after tutorial on Youtube. As I said I have converted over to a makeup sponge but this has come in close second. When I first started applying liquid foundation I used a regular foundation brush and it worked but I was never happy. Then i discovered the makeup sponge and loved it for applying foundation and now this brush. If I was to use a brush it would be this one. It does buff in my foundation and I can see the hype with this specific brush. It is so soft and dense enough to blend in my foundation. The handle is so comfortable and I love placing it in my vanity and it doesn’t fall over or roll easily which is amazing and life changing for me. I do love the brush and it is so nice.
Real Techniques Setting Brush
The second brush was the setting brush. Again it was a hyped up one and I see it everywhere. I thought I was going to use this for concealer at first and used it for that but didn’t like it. I mean it might be my fault and not meant for that. I then used it for highlight as I seen it in other tutorials so I did and I see it now. It gives me amazing highlight and is perfect for that. I now use this as a highlighting brush instead of a fan brush I previously used. I also use it to wipe away powder after I set my concealer. I love the shape of it and it is just as soft. I don’t own anything like it so I grab for it whenever I can. It is definitely a great brush and I totally recommend if you don’t own anything like it.
That is it for my review and my thoughts on Real Techniques so far. I have my eye on a few other brushes and their sets. Maybe I can get a few for Christmas *hint hint* to appreciate more of what they offer. I get the hype and I do like them. I mean for one brush it does seem a bit expensive for me especially since there are cheaper options available out there but you are paying for the quality and it is pretty good quality so I get it. The brushes are so soft and I love when they are like it. They do their job and I am loving them so far and reach for them whenever I do my makeup now. Let me know your thoughts on them and which one you would recommend next if i were to pick another up. I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts even though I am sure there are thousandths of blog post and videos about them already. It was my first time trying them and I wanted to share my thoughts. I feel like a proper beauty blogger for doing it a bit late but I did. So hope you liked this beauty Monday review and have a lovely start to the week!

What makeup brushes are you currently using and have you tried the RT ones?

Great post! I just bought brushes and bare minerals products from ulta over the weekend. I also had a lesson on how to apply my own makeup. It definitely requires skills.
Thank you for the in detail review about these brushes – super helpful information to consider as I make my next purchase
I LOVE Real Techniques brushes! Inexpensive and high quality. Not a fan of the sponge though. Nothing has beat my Beauty Blender yet! Great post ๐
Great review! Although I haven't tried the sponge yet, I'm a huge fan of real technique brushes :DVioletDaffodilsxx
