Stripes & Polka Dots
Happy Wednesday! Today’s outfit is quite of a mix match. I’m not one to mix patterns or wear many patterns so this is pretty big for me. While I was in fashion school, a teacher told me tat I should learn the rules of fashion and once I do then I should break them. Time and time again I heard to not mix different patterns together as they will clash and I did just that. I broke the rule and wore stripes and polka dots together. Actually this works though. The top has small polka dots and the skirt has stripes running horizontal. I think it works because they aren’t too focused. You can’t really see the stripes and it looks normal so making it less of a big deal. Also the blue blends them together. They ended up working perfectly together and I love how I styled the outfit. Just looking at this outfit I want to experiment more with clashing different patterns and see what works and doesn’t. So here is my mixed pattern outfit!
For my outfit I went with this sky blue polka dot cotton tee from H&M. I recently got it in the sale section and it is so soft and comfortable. Also I love how you can dress it up or down. This look I dressed it up with a skirt but on other days I wear it around the house with leggings. as for the skirt you’ve seen me wear it a few times. I love the shape of it and the stripe detail. Sometimes you can see them or sometimes you can’t. Th accessories I kept matching and in the cream color family. My bag is my go to and it is a dupe of the Chloe Nile as you see. It is a great bag and has been great pairing with all my outfits. Same goes for these heels. Ever since I bought them I’ve gotten so much use out of them and they will come in handy this coming holiday season as well. The jewelry I just went with my heart pendent necklace, bow earrings and a pearl chain bracelet. My bow is a black stripe one to match the stripes in the skirt.

That was my outfit! Let me know what you think about mixing patterns and if this worked or not. I personally love it and love these kinds of outfits on me. Also I love this new mall that opened up 15 minutes from my house. It means I can go down and take pictures there more often. I took these ones when it first opened and there are still many spots around to explore to take more outfit pictures. I’m actually going to be shooting a few more outfits. I have them planned out so I think that’s how I’m going to spend the rest of my week. So I hope you liked this outfit of me mixing patterns together and have a lovely rest of the week!

What two patterns do you love mixing and wearing together?
