Spring Forwards & Fall Backwards
Happy Wednesday! This blog post wasn’t going to happen today. Honestly I wasn’t happy with the photos. I mean there isn’t anything wrong with them but while I was shooting them I realized it wasn’t what I had in my head. This was originally going to be how I style my summer dress to fall. After looking at the pictures I noticed it wasn’t fall at all but spring instead. I was disappointed and was going to wait until it was actually spring again to post these but it came to me. So where I live there are no seasons but hot and summer then rainy and humid. That is it. I try to embrace the current season else where but I shouldn’t be. I try to make something it is not and it just gets me upset. I live in a place that is sunny all year round pretty much (there is an odd day or two where it is gloomy and rainy but for the most part it is sunny) and I should be happy as other bloggers probably envy that while I am out here looking for other seasons when we never get that or we get it once every so often. Now instead of hiding these pictures away which turned out quite nice and nothing wrong with them, I thought I would push through and just show you my outfit. Who cares if it wasn’t meant for that reason I intended them for? I tried and it wasn’t meant to be but the results turned into a very pretty outfit and very unintentional. So instead of how I style a summer dress to fall. Here is a pretty spring dress perfect for any warm weather of the year!
This dress is quite sentimental for me for many reasons. One, it was the first Forever 21 dress I bought and my first thing I bought from there 4 years ago. Two, it was the first thing I bought with my own money I made with blogging. Three, it was the dress I wore to my godson’s baptism. It has been with me through a few summers and whenever I needed a dress that was perfect for a special occasion and could be dressed up and down. It has done me well. I wore it on my birthday one year then out to dinner for my parent’s wedding anniversary. I have worn this dress a lot. The last two years though I hid it away in my closet as I bought more dresses and reached for them more. After a clean out I couldn’t let go as it held so much meaning to me. So I came up with the idea of styling it for summer to fall which it didn’t work out but I did get to wear it again and style it another way then how I wore it before. I love this dress and it will always have a special place in my heart. A bonus fact to throw in is I saw it was worn by a dancer in a music video. As soon as I saw it I knew it was my dress and was so thrilled by it. I never usually see clothes I buy in anything like that so when I saw it worn in a music video it made the dress even more special. This is just a lucky dress I guess.
For the rest of the outfit I styled it with a cardigan. Since it was my summer dress I usually just wear it on it’s own and pair it with some sandals and my current bag and that’s it. This time I put the cardigan over it and I like the light pink matched well with the pattern of the dress. For accessories I paired it with my favorite bag right now and one that has been matching every single outfit which is my designer dupe bag. It is so pretty and I still can’t get over how nice it is and so similar. I see why a lot of bloggers have one and they just go so well with my style. The shoes I went with a matching cream pair of chunky heels. I love when my bag and shoes match plus it tied in so well with the dress color. I kept things pretty simple and just paired a white bow in my hair. I feel like this outfit is made for a nice dinner or in my head a great outfit to wear for meeting the boyfriend’s parents for the first time. I was thinking about that while I was putting this on and if I had to I think this would be the perfect girly preppy outfit for the occasion. It’s really nice and can be worn for so many things.

That was my outfit! It turned out better than I thought. Let me know if you have ever done what I did. It would make me a whole lot better.I did have a fun day afterwards even though I was a little bit down after previewing the pictures on my camera. I did a bit of shopping and went to lunch with my cousins so it wasn’t a fail kind of day it just got my mood down a little bit and then got right back up again after trying to tell myself not to let it go to my head. I have a vlog from this day on my channel to watch if you would like. I was weekly vlogging that week so you can see that if you want to. I better go now. I’m still planning some content and some Halloween themed stuff and have a lot to do with that so stay tuned. Have a lovely rest of the week!

What ways do you dress for the weather and incorporate into your outfits?

I'm kind of in the same situation as far as weather goes; sometimes we just have to dress for the temperature more than the season! This outfit is definitely cute for summer, spring OR fall, either way! <3
