Audrey, Belle & Minnie
Happy Friday! With Halloween only a few days away I thought it was time to put out my last minute costume ideas post. I usually do them every year since I began blogging and I always have a fun time creating them. I switched it up this year though because normally I create a collage with the costume ideas however this year I went out and wore the actually costumes. I even filmed it for you too. This year I picked costumes I haven’t been already for once instead of repeating them. I have always wanted to be these three so I went out this year and finally style them together. They are pretty common and quite popular so I put my spin on it. So today I thought I would share my 3 last minute outfit/costume ideas for you just in case you are in need of a quick idea with clothes you already might have in your closet!
Audrey Hepburn – Breakfast at Tiffany’s
The first costume is pretty common. I have always seen this costume and I wanted to recreate and this year I accomplished it. The best part of this look was I only bought one thing for it and that is the mini tiara. I actually already own a crown and tiara but not this mini one. The rest I had already owned and just pulled out of my own closet. The first piece and important part of the costume is the black dress. I saw the original was a long slim fit gown but I compromised and went with a modern twist with a short skater style dress. I had this dress in the back of my wardrobe for 3 years now and it still had the tags on it. I’ve been waiting for the right time to wear it or find an occasion to use it for and now I finally have. The reason I bought it all those years ago was for a 1920’s outfit day I had at fashion school. Now I am using it for an Audrey Hepburn costume so it comes full circle. It is such a simple black dress with a v neckline and the back is open and has this scallop detail which is so feminine. I think it is the perfect dress and finally I got to wear it. As for the details, this costume had many accessories. The iconic black satin arm gloves that she wears. I bought these at Claire’s for the 1920’s day back then. They came in handy again. I don’t know how she did it because I was stuck trying to do anything even trying to unlock my phone was a struggle. I know there wasn’t a touch screen cell phone back then but it still was hard to do much. Then we have to statement necklace and the pearl bracelets both from Forever 21. Last is the mini tiara. It is the only thing I bought and it was only 150php so a pretty good deal. I put my hair up in a neat top knot on top of my head and it is something I should do more often as I thought it was so cute. For my shoes I just used my black platform chunky heels that make me feel so confident and put together and what ore do you want is to look and feel good especially on Halloween. The last thing is the cigarette she holds. I just did a DIY and that was it.

Belle – Beauty & The Beast
Another very popular costume except I didn’t catch on with the whole Taco Belle that has been floating around lately. I went with the classic but normal Belle. I didn’t want the full yellow ball gown or her iconic blue apron look but those would be nice. I just wanted a casual and simple Belle who would exist in real life right now. It’s one of those threw on kind of costumes but gets the point across. I always wanted to be Belle. She’s my favorite Disney princess so I did this year. I think when I was little maybe 3 or 4 my mom bought me a Cinderella costume. I was never one to be a Disney Princess growing up but now I am all over it and want to be all of them if I could. There is always next year.
The outfit I bought two things for it which is the rose and the top. I can justify the top as I can just wear it again. It has ruffle sleeves which kind of makes it more Belle for me. I then paired it with a white skirt. I could have gone with a yellow dress or a yellow skirt with it but as I said I wanted modern everyday Belle. I was going to pair it with a white tulle skirt but kept it casual. Then I paired some white sandals to match the skirt. The accessories are a little lacking for me. I only used a single red rose to symbolize her. I was looking for a book and a choker to add but couldn’t find one to shoot this with. I did accomplish the hair and did her iconic hairstyle and added a pearl hair tie in. I actually love this and it is becoming my go to hairstyle now. So that’s my take on being princess Belle.

Minnie Mouse – Disney
The last costume has been something I have been thinking of being since last year. I love Minnie and this was inspired by my cousin’s love of Mickey Mouse. I actually bought the headband last year as well so it has been a while. It is the easiest costume but it wasn’t and I will explain. The top I bought last month and technically again I can use again. The red tulle skirt I have worn before but I added the white polka dots and it took me like 5 hours to DIY it again. I had such a hard time tracing and cutting the polka dots and then sewing them on the skirt and lastly the placing of where they go. I’m glad it is over and I can just cut the thread off to make it go back to the original style if I wanted. Last is the headband and I could have choose between pink and red but I went for the classic red. The shoes I paired with is just some black wedges. It is a simple outfit and the most fun. I didn’t have any other accessories but maybe if I had a Minnie mouse bag. I obviously had to add in the red lip to match and everything seems better with a red lip to feel more confident. I put my hair in ponytails for a cute look and it looked so good with the headband. That is it for my Minnie Mouse costume.

Those are my last minute costume ideas with items in your closet! I really enjoyed putting this together and dressing up. I am still deciding what I am going to do and which one to wear. I love all of them and they are so simple and cute. I did film a lookbook to go along with this and you can watch that here or down below. I really enjoyed editing that and showing you them in motion instead. So I hope you enjoy my costumes. Have a great weekend and you get ready for Halloween!
