Get Nude Twice
Happy Monday! Here is part two of my BYS Palette week where I review their eyeshadow palette variants. Last week’s one was Berries which you can view here. Today’s one is a neutral variant called the Nude 2. My first thought was it looks familiar and similar to the Urban Decay Naked 2
palette! I don’t own any of them but I have seen
them online and I mean who hasn’t as there are a lot. They aren’t available where I live so I sadly can’t compare the two palettes for this
reason. The pictures do look like a dupe at first look but getting closer I feel this isn’t exact but just a close looking one. So instead of doing a comparison since I can’t do that I am just reviewing this particular palette and what my thoughts are on the BYS Nude 2.

Packaging
It originally comes in a large clear square to see the shades right away. The packaging is a beige metallic tin with dark brown lettering on the front. On the back is a diagram of the inside of the palette, with each shadow color and name. The metal case closes well and that makes it great for traveling and it contains everything I might need to create a eye look on the go. The lid clips in to the base when closing which is great to avoid the palette from opening and being ruined. It also contains a nice sized mirror on the inside. I think the packaging does remind me the ones from the Naked palettes and a lot of other palettes so it is trying be a dupe. It has pretty and practical packaging and I am a big fan of the tin.
Application & Staying Power
The application is very similar to the Berries palette. The colors are creamy and blend so easily. I had a little fall out
when applying the darker shades so I recommend doing your eyes first. These shadows blend well together and it’s
definitely not a palette you have to work with as it goes on smoothly. It does exactly what you need it to do and no fussing about with it which I am in favor for. The longevity of the eye shadows is pretty standard I would say. I never have much fallout with these shades and they last without creasing. These shades just pop on the lid and the color doesn’t fade throughout the day so what you see when you first apply is pretty much what you’ll see when you finish the day. It’s pretty good and last better with the primer though but on it’s own it can still last. I would recommend using an eyeshadow primer. The colors are vibrant on their own but adding a primer can make them stay longer and bring out more of their true shade.
Color & Pigmentation
The colors are very neutral and for a cool toned eye look. There is a lot of brown for everyday neutral eye looks. As well as more darker colors to jazz it up for a night out and to smoke it out. It’s great to mix and match them and create different neutral looks with. I do
quite bronze brown looks for everyday and the darker colors to create a smokey eye for a special occasion or night out.
Color & Finishes
Morning – Light Cream – Matte
Guest – Copper Orange – Shimmer
Selfie – White Cream – Matte
Flirt – Golden Copper Brown – Shimmer
VIP – Light Taupe Brown – Matte
Photo Op – Chocolate Brown – Shimmer
Shots – Golden Brown – Shimmer
Smoke Machine – Metallic Grey – Shimmer
D Floor – Pearly Brown – Shimmer
Pick Up – Nude Brown – Shimmer
Heels Off – Metallic Lavender Purple – Shimmer
Midnight – Black – Matte
The pigmentation is pretty great for such a cheap product although the
two lighter shades are a little chalky. Those two colors are very light making their pigmentation not as good compared to the others. The majority of these shadows
are metallic and reflective. There are only 4 matte shades but I find
they are perfect for blending on the lid and into the crease. The black
shadow is amazing for so much like the lash line or to set liner because it is
just so pigmented. It’s the best I’ve seen inside a palette and one I own.
Swatches
Top: Morning, Guest List, Selfie, Flirt, VIP, Photo Op
Bottom: Shots, Smoke Machine, D Floor, Pick up, Heels Off, Midnight
As you can see from the swatches, it seems that a lot of the colors are very similar to each other. When I first started swatching this when I first used it I noticed how similar a few colors are. I mean it is a neutral brown palette and the theme is supposed to be nude theme so I kind of get it.
Morning – is a light matte beige shadow that is perfect for an overall lid shade. This is very chalky and really light so it doesn’t show much color and is just use for a base to define the color.
Guest List – is a shimmery copper tone shadow that will definitely add extra sparkle to your daytime eye make. I add this in the middle of my lid to add that pretty transition color. The slight orange color looks great adding it in for a coppery shade.
Selfie – is borderline off white and beige matte shadow that is perfect for highlighting areas. It is very similar to the first shade Morning especially swatched and on the lid. It is more pigmented though and shows up better and since it is matte it can give great blendability.
Flirt – is a bronze with underlying orange tone that is a shimmery shadow that can add depth to your eyes. I use this in the inner half and middle part of the lid and the lighter shade makes it look polished.
VIP – is a matte greyish brown shadow that can also add depth to lids. It is a griege as I call it so a beige and grey mixed. If I wanted a cool toned look this is the perfect shade and I sometimes add it in my crease to give a subtle contour.
Photo Op – is the true brown shimmery shadow out of all the shadows in this palette. It has this gold chunky glitter in it and makes it extra shimmery. Even though it is quite chunky it blends in smoothly and goes on nicely.
Shots – is close to Flirt it’s just that it doesn’t have that underlying orange tone to it. It has this rose gold and copper tone to it as well and looks so nice with adding a metallic shine to it.
Smoke Machine – is a grey shimmery shadow with underlying brown tones to it. It is on the cool end and looks great with lightly smoking it out and is not as dark look to go for.
D Floor – is a nice light grey shimmery shadow. It will look great with the color above as a transition shade and how I use it with. It is very light and has a nice sheen to it.
Pick up – is the lightest brown shimmery shadow. I use this as a middle shade and it looks great to deepen the shadow and it looks so nice on the lid and blends seamlessly.
Heels Off – is a shimmery shadow with purple tones to it. It’s a metallic and so pretty to create a smokey eye with as well or add some color to the lid. This is the only color not in the nude family which makes it the most unique color.
Midnight – is a black matte shadow. This is the blackest shadow I have ever come across so far. It is so pigmented and not chalky or any fallout ever. It’s a great color for a dark smokey look and I use this for so many things. I’ve been using it as well for setting black gel liner.
Overall Experience
Overall I am in love with this palette and it has great value for
it’s money
and amazing quality. I’m happy with the colors and I do recommend it
especially the pigmentation of it. For the price of this I can say it
does it’s job and so worth it. It impressed me with the shades and has
good color choices. I am loving this palette and it is actually my go-to eyeshadow for neutral bronze eye looks and going out smokey looks. Have you tried the BYS Nude 2 Palette
yet?
My rating is: ♥♥♥♥♡
I’ll give it 4.5/5 because I do love
everything about it but the palette does have hit and miss shades as all
palettes do. The lighter shades are not as good and a bit chalky and some shades are more pigmented than others. It is 1,199php
which is a fair price for the product. If you are on a budget however
than this is pretty high for one makeup item especially if you are unsure and not into colors like this. It depends on your budget
on eyeshadows. If you don’t like this variant than there are others to
choose from which is great. My final thoughts on this eyeshadow palette
are if you have been wanting a neutral palette that is pretty similar to the Urban Decay Naked 2 than I highly suggest
checking the BYS Nude 2 Eyeshadow Palette. It isn’t an exact dupe but there are similarities. You will not be
disappointed with the quality and shades in this.
That’s it for my review of the eyeshadow palette. This palette has all the colors that I want for a natural look or a night out look because it has an equal amount of matte and shimmery shades to create different combinations. At the moment it is my go to neutral palette to create everyday looks when I want to use eyeshadow. I love the colors and have been loving mixing and matching the palettes to create even more combos. I hope you enjoyed this review and found another eyeshadow
discovery for this week. I’ll have one more version again next week. Let me know if you’ve tried it. Hope you have a lovely week!
