What I Wore to Dinner
Happy Friday! I’m back with a style post today. While I was on my staycation I knew my parents and I were going out to dinner and it gave me an excuse to dress up both nights so I intentionally packed two formal outfits to wear. While shooting the first one the lightning wasn’t the best in the world and I was afraid they wouldn’t turn out how I wanted them so I thought instead of a standard outfit post on showing you what I wore. I decided to just combine the outfits and show you how I styled myself to going out for a formal dinner. The pictures turned out better than I was expecting but I kept my idea and thought it would give a twist to my what I wore series. So this is how I styled two outfits to inspire you to wear out to dinner yourself.
I tried to make these two outfits really different from each other but at the same time have something in common together too if that makes sense. They are both pretty dressy and for me perfect to go out to dinner with your parents or family as well as a friend get together too. It’s something I know that looks put together and would be nice enough to wear out. The first outfit is neutral but still has a girly twist to it. The second outfit is very princess like and very pink. I think it is more out there and fun but if that is you then it would be a fun dinner outfit to express your inner whimsical style. If you are not as adventurous than and a classic style like the first is really pretty and would be a great date night outfit perhaps too.
I had these two outfits in mind based on the shoes. I had just bought them a day before leaving for my trip and wanted them to be the base and main focus of the outfits. I initially was going to bring two dresses but realized I haven’t bought a dress in so long and have worn all my current ones so many times on the blog so when I was going through my wardrobe and saw these skirts instead I knew I would start there clothing wise. It took me a while to come up with outfit two but the first one came to me pretty quickly.

earrings: Forever 21 {similar}, bow: Forever 21, lipstick: Colourpop Matte Lipstick in More Better |
The first outfit is my favorite of the two just because it was the first I style and wore. The top from H&M is my favorite because I still can’t get over the ruffle sleeves. At first I thought the top wouldn’t go well with the colors of the skirt as I always found this skirt hard to style with tops. It did end up going and the white and the off white in the skirt looked better than I was expecting. I tried to keep this as simple as possible and not add too many things to the outfit. I then paired it with a classic cross body black bag I got in the sale at Forever 21 a while back and I like the silver chain and how it contrasts with the gold of the skirt. The accessories I just paired these big dangle earrings to be a statement and then I braided my hair and added a bow in a half up half down hairstyle. Last my shoes and I was going to style them with black chunky heels but I wanted to nude as they were new and to go with the gold and tone down the outfit. The lip color I’m wearing is a berry and wanted it to change things up. I was tempting a red lip but I think the berry color switches it up. Overall I love this outfit and I loved styling this together.

The second outfit is very girly and my go to princess look. It is a very feminine outfit and I love twirling around in it. I’m obsessed with this top and finally wore it again after the last time I wore it here. I still love the pom pom details and the frill off the shoulder it has. I wanted an all pink outfit as I hadn’t worn one in a while and I thought it would look nice with this peachy pink glitter tulle skirt. I paired it with a cross body bag that has been my favorite thing since I bought it and it is another shade of pink to mix all the colors together. Last is the heels again and of course the shoe goes with so many outfits that is why I bought them. Then a silk pink bow to match the top and some blush pink heart stud earrings to finish the accessories to the outfit. My lipstick in this is my go to pinky nude which is Birthday Suit by Sleek. It has been in a lot of my outfits lately so if you were wondering what I was wearing then it was that.
That are two outfit ideas if you have a formal dinner coming up and wanted some ideas to dress up for the occasion. I had a lot of fun styling for these two outfits and I think I’m going to do a breakfast or brunch version to show you what I wore when I went out for that in the mornings. So look forward to that as well from my staycation. If you couldn’t tell I have so many blog posts I came up with while I stayed and want to show you every detail possible. I hope you enjoyed this and got some inspiration from these two outfits for your next get together with whoever. Let me know what your go to dressed up look is to wear and if you go for a certain style. I guess that is it and have a lovely weekend ahead everyone!

Both are really pretty. I do prefer the first one just because it's something that can worn to various places, not only dinner! Great outfits in general and love the price tags.
Both of those look amazing on you! You do a great job with styling them!
