Manila & Americano Love
Happy Friday! I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve written anything beauty related so today I thought I would write about the new launch from Ofra Cosmetics who collaborated with Glamourbox to create a new shade to their Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick range. It was created with Glamourbox, which is the local distributor of the American brand. While shopping there, I’ve always wanted to try their Ofra lippies but never took the plunge until now. There are so many unique shades and I do love their names they give. I was fortunate to win their Instagram giveaway so I received their newest lip offering and a mini deluxe size. So here are my thoughts on the Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Manila & Americano.

Manila
Packaging
The packaging for this lipstick comes in a box. Some lipsticks come in boxes and some don’t nowadays. This has one that has it’s information, shade detail and house the lipstick when buying it. It has a cut out to see the the tube and lip shade to really get a feel of the color and what it looks like. I do like the black and olive green together. The lipstick itself comes in a plastic clear tube with a glossy black lid and etched on the front in silver has the branding. On the bottom there is a silver sticker with the shade name. It’s pretty sleek and is a pretty big tube so you get a lot of product. It comes with the standard doe foot applicator to apply the lip color. Americano is a bit different as it is a deluxe size and it not full size. So of course the packaging and sizing is different. Instead of a black lid it has a silver lid and the branding is on a black sticker with the shade name on it. There is no sticker on the bottom displaying the name it is on the side. It has a smaller size doe foot applicator but resembles the full size. It does look a bit cheaper but I do understand as it is only a deluxe size and not the full blown regular one. I do find the size cuter and plus it is better for traveling as you can just throw it in and it doesn’t take up too much space.
Application & Staying Power
The formula of this is amazing and I love it. It’s my first time trying a liquid lipstick from this brand and I can see why a lot of people rave about it. It is super creamy and doesn’t feel like a matte lipstick. It feels like it’s less drying on the lips as well compared to others I’ve used. The applicator gives good coverage and I don’t need a lip liner beforehand to get it even around the edges of my lips. I get pretty good application without bleeding over and going outside the lines. It wears well during the day after trying it for the first time. After a meal it does fade evenly on me and the middle is usually the first to go on all the lipsticks I’ve tried. If I want a perfect application again I do have to retouch after a heavy meal that was super oily. I totally understand that but in fairness this lasted a good while. I give it around
four to five hours with no meal.
Color & Pigmentation
Manila is a gorgeous color and something I don’t have in my collection. There is something with this color as it is so different when swatched and on the lips. It’s meant to be a nude
matte with a strong mauve tone. When on the lips, it is a pinkish nude. However the swatches on my arm it is more
as a warm brown. Also I’ve seen the color on others who have different skin tones and it is another color as well so I guess depending on your skin tone it just molds to you I’m guessing. So the color you see on me now might not look that way on you. It’s very weird but very cool! I was expecting it to be a mauvey nude on me but it was way different. That is why on their website it says the color may vary on everyone and I agree. The pigmentation is amazing though. I have to give it that. This is just one swipe on my hand and then I built it up and the color intensifies and doesn’t cake up. It can be good with just one swipe on the lips to cover them which is very impressive. I didn’t expect it would take one layer to get full opacity since it is pretty light but it sure did so.
Swatches
As you can see on my lips it is quite pale and I have medium yellow undertone skin. It blends in with my skin color and washes me out. I think it is a great conceal shade as it matches really well with my skin tone though. So to be able to wear it I have to mix it with another shade or maybe use a darker lip liner. It is a gorgeous color and looks so pretty but to get it to work for me I have to darken it up a bit. It’s meant to be for Philippine skin I think and I don’t have their complexion. I got my dad’s American skin and color so it doesn’t do to good with my mixed skin. I wish it did as it is such a pretty color and something I don’t really have.
Here is the makeup look I wore with it. Since it is a pretty natural lip color I went quite neutral with it. As you can see it is pretty pale on me and blends in with my skin color but you can see a bit of pink undertone in it while on my lips. This has no lip liner and I applied it straight from the tube. I did wait about 15 minutes before taking this picture so it set to it’s matte state. It doesn’t set in my lip creases and doesn’t look like it is cracking so I’m pretty impressed with that.
Americano
Application & Staying Power
The application is just the same as Manila. It has the same applicator but just a bit smaller so it can get in between the lines and no need for lip liner. It just needs one swipe because of the color and pigmentation which is good so you don’t have to double dip and waste product. The staying power is about the same. Of course with the meals it doesn’t last as long. It is a light formula I feel but it stays around 4 to 5 hours as well without eating. This one lightens up more when it fades and creates a bit more of an ombre look instead of the nude color which you can’t tell it is fading unlike this color you can. It doesn’t transfer when it dries so it stays in place which is what I look for because I am known for smearing and making a mess. It also didn’t get in my teeth so that’s a good sign.
Color & Pigmentation
Americano is a mocha brown color which is definitely an on-trend color at the moment. It’s a very deep color and I thought it would look more vampy than it did. It’s absolutely
stunning on and would work well on a lot of people who have pale or dark skin
color. It’s one of those warm toned lip shades that are going to look good on.Honestly when I first swatched it on my arm I wasn’t too impressed. It’s a shade I don’t own and would have never reached for if I was buying it myself. I stick to my pinks, nudes and reds but not something like this. Then when I wore in on my lips it changed my mind. It makes my lips look so much bigger than what they are and it is such a flattering shade. I think I’m going to reaching for this in the Fall months with very warm toned makeup everyone is loving and so am I. I can just see this lip shade to go with a lot of my warm tone eyeshadow palettes I have and I can’t wait to create some different makeup looks with it. The pigmentation is just as amazing as Manila. It is full opaque in one coat and since it is a darker color it goes on in one swipe on the lips.
Swatches
On my arm it is an orange brown tint to it. While on my lips it is like a terracotta brown and looks so pretty. It has a bit more sheen than Manila it seems like. It settles on my lips more and is very comfortable. I find it has a thinner formula even though I applied the same amount. I’m not sure but it seems like it as it feels like I have nothing on while with Manila I knew something was there. Maybe the tweaked the formula around a bit.
This is the same makeup look as I wanted to keep it the same for both to show the difference. Americano does seem to amp up the look and make it more night friendly though. With the color it makes the makeup seem like it’s a bit vampy even though it is the same makeup. I guess one lip color can just changed the whole vibe of the look. As you can see I love this color a lot more than I thought and will be looking forward to grabbing for it. It’s true that a shade you don’t really think you will like you end up liking a lot more.
I linked the lipsticks and you can shop the makeup I was wearing in this look if you’re curious down below.
Overall Experience
Overall I love these liquid lipsticks and they both have great value for it’s money
and amazing quality. I’m extremely happy with them and I do recommend it
especially their new Manila shade. For the price of this and with all the hype with
what I hear I can say it does live up to the reviews. It gives nice color and both have amazing pigmentation. It impressed me since this is my first time trying from Ofra Cosmetics and love it so much. I’m going to be adding the colors that are on my wish list to my basket as I love this liquid lipstick’s formula and one of the best I’ve tried so far. Have you tried any of the Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks
yet?
My rating is: ♥♥♥♥♡
I’ll give it 4/5 for Manila and 4.5 for Americano because I love everything about it but they both had their differences. It has
great pigmentation and both are gorgeous colors so I give them that. The best thing is the
formula
and it’s really nice and gives amazing pigmentation. The only issue with Manila is the shade for me. It isn’t a lipstick I can just throw on and go because I have to play with it to go with my skin tone. As for Americano, I didn’t like the sheen to it when it is meant to be matte. Sometimes I like that look and sometimes I like it full matte. It’s not a big issue but that is the only fault I have with it and it is only a deluxe size but that means I would just have to get a full size myself. So beside that small bump it was pretty amazing I
think and I would love to buy the other shades they have
as I was quite
impressed with these two.
That’s it for my review of the Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Manila & Americano.I really enjoyed these and I think I’m going to pick up a shade I really like as an everyday lipstick as the formula just blew me away. Also I love that these lipsticks represent me as a person. I have Manila for my Mom’s side and I have Americano for my dad’s side. I find it quite funny and how random it was to get those shades. I would love to thank Glamourbox for sending me these two lippies. I don’t know how I won their Instagram giveaway but I sure am lucky. Thanks to them I got to try their new release and a color I never thought would look good on me and make me fall in love with a new shade. You can pick up your own on their site and other beauty essentials like I have in the past. So now I’m off to enjoy my weekend. I think I have plans but let’s hope they go through and I won’t miss out them because of the weather. I hope you have a great weekend yourself!
What is a lip color you avoided before but tried it and end up loving it?

Your pictures are fab! i had never heard of that brand before. I really like the pigmentation. However, I am not sure it would fit with the color of my skin xx corinne
The Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick looks like an amazing product. I am all about makeup that last a long time instead of wearing off quickly.
The different lips shades are nice colors and the packaging is pretty cute with the black and the teal. It seems like it last a good amount of time.
Manila is a new color for me, have to try this out. I always prefer Peach..:P
I like Americano more. Manila looks too pale. Never heard of ofra, is this locally made?
Those are beautiful shades!! I especially love the idea of long lasting, since I don't really enjoy applying make up, so much prefer that it last as long as possible! 🙂
Love all of your pictures and info on each product. I love a long lasting lip product!
I agree that the brown does look like a better color for your skin tone. Great review on the products though.
I think you look amazing and I totally love the colors of these lippies. I don't think I've tried any of Ofra's lipsticks before.
The problem I tend to have with really great lipstick colors is that some don't last long and others flake. Ofra seems to cover both of those issues and it's a great color on you. It looks like the tint would work on my skin complexion as well.
this is such a warm colour of lipstick to go with, it kinda has an easy blend with outfits too.
Those lip colors look like they would really stay. I like the nude one a lot.
Ofra is a product i have never tried out, but the lipsticks looks really good on you.
