The Bittersweet Birthday Suit was Shabby Chic and the Petal was like a Velvet Slipper
Happy Saturday! It’s the last installment for my #mattelipweek! Today’s matte lipstick review is from Sleek. It’s another worth the hype kind of product and again was influenced by bloggers and youtubers local and international. I’m so in love with the colors I have collected and can’t wait to add more.So without a long introduction here are my thoughts on the Sleek lippies!
Description (from website): A long-wearing liquid lipstick for that picture-perfect pop of color. It covers lips in vivid cream color with a soft matte finish; light-as-air texture provides comfortable wear for hours; won’t cake, flake, or dry out; glides on smoothly; no need for a second coat.
Where to buy: Sleek is available in SM Beauty Stores nationwide and online at Zalora. It comes in a clear tube with many shades to choose from at only 450php.
Packaging
The Matte Me Lip Creams come packaged within a clear rectangular tube with a matte black lid with the Sleek lettering on the front in a glossy font. I like that it is square shaped because it doesn’t roll off and can
stand up so it made it the easiest to product to photograph. It is simple yet classy packaging and I like that. The packaging is quite sturdy and I like that it’s transparent so that I
can see the color of the product. I love that it’s clear so you are able to see the shade inside and not try and try to pick up colors you are not looking for. However if you want do need to know the shade name is at the bottom. The product is actually very light and very easy to pop into a handbag. The small doe foot applicator inside is soft and a great shape plus it is very smooth and comfortable when on the lips. The sponge applicator is also great and the shape of it really helps apply it well and really contours the shape of your lips perfectly so you get even application.
Color & Pigmentation
The shades I own are these 5. I love the names they have and think they are so cute and fitting.
Petal is a pale muted pink. It is not bright at all like the swatch but it appears quite nude on my lips. It appears a bit glossy at first and it dries fully.
Birthday Suit is a nude but a much a deeper nude
tone. It has slight pink undertones and is also a little bit sheerer than the darker tones. It’s one of their best seller shades and I can see why as it is the perfect color to be on trend right now.
Bittersweet as is a more brown pink with a bit of a coral tint to it and a redish undertone. It’s a more brighter shade but in the tube it looks very similar to Shabby Chic but when swatched and on the lips they are far from each other.
Shabby Chic is a mauvey MLBB color. It is a gorgeous pinky mauve with a but of brown in it. It is another trendy shade and probably one of my faves in the collection. It does come up a bit darker than the previous shades but I love that about it.
Velvet Slipper
is a dark berry that’s very chic and such a fall color. It’s a start to the dark lip but not as bold or scary to try like its in the medium range. It’s a deep dusty plum with a mauve undertone while on the lips.
Application & Staying Power
The three lightest colors are smooth and solid in one swipe so you don’t have to add layer after layer. The darker shades can be a little patchy on oily parts of the lips but a good lip balm can solve that. Each shade starts out quite glossy but turns matte within approx 30 seconds of application. Once matte they don’t budge and sets in place which is essential when I need to be out the door and don’t have time. Since they have such good staying power and doesn’t budge that means it’s a bit tricky to remove. After a while it does come off naturally especially with eating and drinking but if you want to fix a mistake be quick or you might need to use a makeup remover. The staying power is average at about three to 5 hours. It depends what you do but that is pretty good time for the lipsticks.
Swatches
Last thing is the swatches on my arm. The colors are much brighter swatched than in the tub. I think the colors are all so nice and will get a lot of wear from them. Petal is absolutely beautiful but comes across a little pale on my skin tone.Birthday Suit is my perfect nude that isn’t too pink or too brown. Bittersweet is a gorgeous color that I don’t have another like it. Shabby Chic is my favorite and such a flattering and trendy color I can’t get enough of and lastly Velvet Slipper will be my go to fall shade as it’s dusty berry is so eye catching.
Overall Experience
Overall I love these lippies and it has great
value
for it’s money and amazing quality. I’m extremely happy
with this and I do recommend it especially the shades featured. For the price of this and with all the
hype with what I hear I can say it does live up to the reviews. Plus since it is such a nice liquid lipstick it is inexpensive and not break the bank. It would be great to keep in mind if you are in need of trying a new matte liquid lipstick. Have you
tried the Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream yet?
My rating is: ♥♥♥♥♥
I’ll give it 5/5 because I love everything about these lippies. It’s affordable, has
great pigmentation and nice colors to choose from. The best thing is the formula
and all the different shades are really nice. It can complement many
skin tones as well and they are so pretty. So it was pretty amazing I
think I would love to buy more of their products and a couple of shades to add to my collection as I was quite
impressed with this.
That’s it for this review of the Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream. Also that is the end of #mattelipweek! I really enjoyed this mini series and it gave me an idea for an upcoming one. Let me know if there is another one of these you’d like to see like eyeliner review week or anything like that. Maybe even a whole month dedicated to beauty reviews. I don’t know but it was fun for me to do something like this. Now I need to let my lips rest after all the matte lips I’ve been wearing but I did have fun testing them all out and can’t wait to get more use out of them. I also need to start organizing all of them now too. I think that is how I am going to spend the rest of my weekend. So I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what is your favorite matte liquid lip at the moment. Have a wonderful weekend loves!
What is one of the factors you look for in a matte lip?

Love the shaded. Btw, did you use your Sony A5000 for all the product shots? 🙂 ice quality!
Thanks Emmerey! I actually used my Nikon D5500 for this set instead of the Sony. I have been playing with it and have a few blog posts that will be out using that camera.xo Jackie
