These Lips Don’t Lie
Happy Thursday! It’s the second installment of my #MatteLipWeek here on fashionxfairytale! This is highly over due as I bought these back in October when they first launched and I even hauled them here but never got around to doing a full on review so here we are. It’s a bit late as they have three new shades to the collection but the original four shades are what the focus will be for this blog post. I’ve been reading Liz from Project Vanity for quite a few years and was one of the first Philippine blogs I started reading. I was fortunate to met her back at a blogging event in 2014 and recently I went to her blog anniversary event and that blog post will be up next. It is a blogging dream come true to have your own line of cosmetics from a collaboration with a brand or to establish a self made line. So when I heard she was doing these lippies with Pink Sugar a brand I am loving so much right now I went out the next day and bought all four. She is such a sweet lady and I hope she gets more success and is such a girl boss I aspire to be one day. So without further ado let’s talk about these collaborate lippies with Pink Sugar and her blog Project Vanity.
Description (from website): Pink Sugar’s chubby crayon created in collaboration with Project Vanity. It delivers full-coverage hydrating color; creamy texture applies smoothly and blends effortlessly; soft, semi-matte, velvet finish lasts for hours; twist-up design requires no sharpening.
Where to buy: They are available at Pink Sugar’s counters nationwide. Also you can purchase them online at Pinksugar and BeautyMNL. For more places visit her blog here.
Packaging
The box is so pretty and I adore the packaging. I heard that Liz designed the illustration that is on the box. As for the lipstick it comes in a matte pink tube that matches the Project Vanity shade. Even I would have it match my blog color too. The shade name is located on the bottom and on the side of the box also it can be found on the bottom of pink tube itself. My only problem with the packaging is the cap. It is so easy to smash the product when you put the cap onto its body so be extra careful when putting it back to avoid damaging the lipsticks. Other than that the packaging is gorgeous and I applaud Liz for such excellent style choices with these.
Color & Pigmentation
Ready in Five is an easy bright pink lipsticks. It’s also based on the Project Vanity pink logo. It has a hint of a medium rosy barbie pink that surprisingly looks gorgeous. I adore shades like this and love barbie pink shades.
Love At First Swipe is a peachy cocoa. It is an ideal neutral peach cocoa lipstick that’s very on trend right now. I can describe it as a warm walnut brown shade with a hint of peach in there. It is a perfect nude lipstick.
Woke Up Like This is a muted pink “my lips but better” (MLBB) shade. I can describe it as a rosy mauve that looks amazing for everyday use. It’s a very versatile shade and will look great on many skin tones.
Nothing To Wear is a deep plum shade. It can be a lipstick or as a deep purplish pink stain. It can also be perfect for parties and a lovely Autumn shade that is bold but not too vampy. I think it is a shade that everyone should have in their stash since it brightens it up and a bright lip can boost anyone’s mood.
Application & Staying Power
These matte lip crayons are insanely pigmented in one swipe. It is very long lasting without drying your lips out and I appreciate that since using so many drying mattes it is nice to have a moisturizing matte once in a while. These lip crayons glides smoothly against the lips. It doesn’t drag and the pigment pay-off is really good on it and does such a great job. The staying power on this is amazing and can last for a while. It can last even after I eat. At the end of the day it leaves a nice
stain so the lips are never bare when you wear it.
Swatches
Here are the swatches on my arm. You can see the pigmentation and how it looks initial swatched. I did leave it so it can dry matte before the picture was taken so this is how it dries and looks. I love all the shades but the pink one which is Ready in Five is my go to color and coming in close second would be Woke Up Like This.
Overall Experience
Overall I love these lipsticks and it has amazing quality. I enjoyed using each one and with it’s unique shade makes it a great addition to my collection. I’m extremely happy with these and I do recommend these shades above because of how amazing they are. They are good shades to choose from and you can get either pinks or a vampy one and they have lovely pigmentation. The color selection is just awesome and I love the fact that the shades are well curated and they are all very wearable even the darkest shade. If you get a chance you should pick them up as they have a superb formula for a matte lipstick and I can’t get enough of them. I wasn’t disappointed at all with these. Everything about them is worth it and I saw they have a few more shades that just came out so there are immediately going on my wish list. Have you tried any of the Project Vanity x Pink Sugar These Lips Don’t Lie yet?
My rating is: ♥♥♥♥♥
I’ll give it 5/5 because I love everything about this lipstick. There are no faults
only in the packaging which I am willing to overlook as everything else is amazing. It’s affordable and has great value, has
a great color selection and the packaging is so pretty to look at. The best thing is the formula
and the different shades really stand out. It can complement many
skin tones as well. So it was pretty amazing I
think and would love to buy the more recent shades that launched.
That’s it for this review of these Pink Sugar x Project Vanity Matte Lip Crayons. I really enjoyed reviewing these even though I kept putting them off. It made me fall in love with the matte lip crayon again and have another matte formula to play with. I think it is so cool that Liza had a chance to do this and I saw the new shades and I must say they look stunning to. If I get them I’ll pop a review up but let’s hope I don’t delay it like this one. Make sure to check back in within the next couple of days on a recap of her blog event I went to last month and the loot bag I got. So that is it I hope you enjoyed this and if you’ve tried them or something similar let me know and your thoughts on matte lip crayons in general. Have a lovely Thursday everyone!
What would be your dream blog collaboration to create?

Everything about these is so pretty. I love the packaging, the pink tube and the colors! I had to run out and buy the NYX lippies you reviewed the other day. Now i'm wanting to run out and buy these, too!
Glad you liked the NYX ones and bought some of your own! I'm not sure if this is available worldwide but if you do end up finding some they are so worth it. Thanks for the comment Leslie!xo Jackie
