Lusting After Designer
Happy Sunday! The other day I was doing my finances and it occurred to me that I was pretty close to saving up for my dream bag. I then realized how good it would be if I did a blog post on how I was doing it so here we are. I wanted to share a few tips on how to buy a designer bag and a list of the ones I would want to own one day. Since I’ve been working on saving for it for a while I worked out how I could. It is something I’ve always wanted and so I’ve been doing everything I can to do so. So I thought I would give a few tips on what I’m doing so I can finally purchase the one I have my eye on.
1. Set aside a certain amount every month.
This is the method I’ve been doing for the past few months. Every month I set a little aside. If some months I can’t handle it I’ll still try and set aside a smaller amount then what I actually do. For example last month when I went on vacation and needed all the money I could I still put a bit over. That means I won’t get to my end goal faster but I still made an effort. It”s a slow approach but every bit counts and eventually you will get there.
2. Pay weekly on a weekly service.
The next way is a bit like the first but this means you are paying weekly. Instead of saving a certain amount you are paying an amount. So it’s like you’re making payments on your dream bag. A place you can do that is payweeklystores.co.uk and I think that is a genius way to get what you wanted faster. I did it with my camera and other electronics but if I knew it existed for a designer bag then I would have too.
3. Cut back on unnecessary things.
For me this was the hardest thing to do. Sometimes you have to sacrifice one thing for another. It’s important to cut out unnecessary expenses like for me I didn’t really need those pretty stationery bits that I never use. If there is a way to cut corners on something then do it as it will help you get to your end goal faster.
4. Take on extra income.
If you can then get another side job or find another way to earn money. That way that money can be set aside for the bag and your main income will be for everyday and necessary things. I think I might start doing this so I can get there a bit faster.
5. Save up birthday/Christmas money or gift cards.
I usually spend my birthday money on makeup or concert tickets but maybe I could save it for the bag. If you get money or maybe a gift card for your birthday or on Christmas then use that. It will help so much. Also tell your relatives about what your plan is and they might help out. Honestly if you can get a loved one to buy it for you then power to you. I might convince my dad too. ๐
The first is a recent one I’ve been lusting after. I’ve seen it quite a lot but in red and tan and I really loved the style but wished it was in a different color. I wasn’t a big fan of red or the brown as I knew it wouldn’t go with much but suddenly while on Pinterest I saw the pink one and absolutely fell head over heels. It is so pretty and seems like the perfect size. It’s the pink bag of dreams I tell you. Next one is a bag I recently showed you that I had my eye on it and that is because of all the bloggers wearing it in all their outfit photos. It is just so whimsical and lovely. The third one is this one from Chanel. A Chanel is on everyone’s list isn’t. It just that bag that girls dream to own one day and of course I’m no different. I’m not entirely sure what style I would actually get but a classic looking one does seem ideal. Another blush colored one is this one from Givenchy and again it was another blogger inspired one that I see a lot of Tumblr and Pinterest. I initially wanted the pink one as well for this but I would have so many pink colored bags I wouldn’t know what to do with them. So I went with a neutral colored one as I currently don’t own one so I’m taking inspiration from this. The most brightest bag is this one from YSL. You know I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to put in a hot pink bag. I saw this and honestly I love it. I wasn’t a big fan of the style at first and thought it was a bit mature but it did grow on me but the color did start changing my mind. The last bag is one from Kate Spade. It’s always been my dream brand and their style is so my aesthetic. It’s also more in my price range and I can see myself actually getting one in the near future. The others are of course more of luxury but they still all are on my lust list. Also how cute is it to have a matching wallet, card holder and bag. I never have so if I do I would love the set. This particular bag is so pretty with the scallop detail and I’m always carrying a black bag for everyday so one that is practical and I know would go everything that is one I’ll get my money out of.
So those are the designer bags I one day dream to own. At the moment these are my picks and brands I am interest in. I hope you found my tips helpful for saving up your dream bag and my top picks I want myself. I really enjoyed putting this together and when I do eventually buy one you will hear all about it and see it in all the outfit pictures for sure. Let me know if you own one already and what you did to get one or if you don’t own one which one do you want? I’d love to know and maybe find out more and see other options. That’s it and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovelies!

What designer bag do you dream abut owning?

These are great tips. I've always been afraid to purchase a designer handbag because I'm really hard on my bags. ๐
Thanks Lecy! Glad you liked it! I was thinking about it as well but I'm still training myself to be better with them especially if it is a bit more money.xo Jackie
I really want a LV bag, but they are so expensive…if I won a large amount of money, I'd definitely get one
Thanks Kim! That is a nice choice. If I won I would buy all the bags in a heart beat. It is nice to dream though, right?xo Jackie
Oh my, these bags are so gorgeous! I own a few designer bags that I was lucky enough to stumble upon at second hand stores, but I'd love to be able to buy a newer one ๐http://www.thesmalladventurer.blogspot.com.au/
Thanks Indya! They are and that is such a good idea to get it second hand. If I ever find one that would be amazing!xo Jackie
