Latte to go for one please
Happy Wednesday! This will be my last lipstick review for a while but I hope you enjoy them as I love doing them. I got this in another BYS Glamourbox under a matte theme and this was the color that came in the box. I did just review one of the lipsticks in a red color you can read here. I kind of compare it and give my thoughts with this review of the color Latte To Go.
Description from here: For that lovely nude shade, try the BYS Matte Lipstick (Latte To Go). The lipstick features a matte finish in a soft, nude shade. This BYS Matte Lipstick makes the perfect companion to a dark smokey eye look, giving it a more balanced style.
Like in my last review of the same lipstick just in a different color it has the same packaging. It comes in a sleek, black tube with a semi-matte finish. The
cap is clear so it allows you to see the color and also just how much
product you still have left in the bullet. It is plastic
all around and has a sticker on the bottom telling you its shade and
the batch it was a part of which is really handy. The product
ingredients and all that other information you need about it are printed
on an attached sticker which keeps the tube sealed which it is kind of
hard to remove for some reason.
Color
This color is a light nude and has a peach undertone to it. I don’t own anything like it and it is the most unique color in my collection at the moment. Like the name suggest it is supposed to be like a latte color which it does resemble. It isn’t brown which I like and a nice tone to it.
Texture
It is matte and it is more drying than the previous BYS Lipstick I tried. It applies nicely but with such a light color it sticks to dry patches and lines. It is necessary of you to add a lip balm and prep the lips since it is a matte lipstick. The matte is quite nice and I really love the effect it leaves.
Pigmentation
Though it is a lighter color I am quite impressed with the pigmentation and with a few swipes it can get a nice opaque color like in the tube. It does go on creamy and dries faster and more matte than the previous. It doesn’t transfer as fast and stays on the lips for quite long through the day.
The swatches are nice and love the color. As I said it is nice and opaque and with a few swipes I got this color. I love the peach undertone and pinky hue since I am not really into the browny nude colors. On my arm it looks great and I have lighter arms I guess than my face so it looks great there but my lips has a different tint.
Here it is on the lips and as I tried it and looked in the mirror it made me look washed out and matched the color of my skin tone and blended it in. I mean this would have been a good base but I don’t know what to do with this. I think maybe blending it with another color to make it not so match to my actual skin and foundation. Another thing I wasn’t too fond of is that it sticks to all my lines and I had fairly dry lips so it stuck to them and wasn’t very moisturizing. Other than that it has it’s benefits and it has it’s bad points.
Overall Experience
I think it’s a good lipstick but I either have to put a lip liner underneath or blend it with another color of lipstick. I liked the swatches but on the lips it washes me out and kind of matches my skin tone to make me look like I have no lips at all. If anyone has a solution to this I’d love any suggestions because I really want to make the most out of this lipstick.
My rating is: ♥♥♥♡♡
This is a three and a half for me due to the color and sticking to the lines in my lips. I quite liked the other lipstick I reviewed in another color. It has good formula and great pigmentation so it makes up for the cons in some areas. It wasn’t made for me but maybe someone with another skin tone it would work.
Pros
- Great pigmentation
- Nice color payoff
- Applies creamy dries matte
- Long lasting
Cons
- Drying
- Sticks to lines
- Not suitable for all skin tones
That was my review for this lipstick. I might give it a second chance as it isn’t all bad but I need to figure out what lip liner or lipstick to blend it with. I hope yu enjoyed this review and hope that it wasn’t to negative. I mean it isn’t a bad lipstick but the only thing putting me off was the color didn’t suite me too well. Let me know if you have an experience and if you helped it and made it better.
What was your first matte nude lipstick you tried?
