What’s in my Makeup Bag?
Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is kind of an old one but I’ll explain in a minute. I was going through my drafts and cleaning them out ready for the New Year and thinking of new posts and saw I still had this half written with pictures from my old camera. It was all set up ready to go but somehow I overlooked it and it got lost within my drafts not getting published. This was probably back in Spring since it is mostly spring colored. Well since it is close to changing seasons and there isn’t seasons here so it is totally acceptable. I have more makeup now and switch up my products but I still thought I would share so it doesn’t get lost in the drafts folder again. I also can’t believe I have never done one so I’m excited to show you what I carry in my makeup bag.
My makeup bag I am currently using is this one. I got this pink quilted makeup bag free when I purchased a few things
from Suesh including this eyeshadow palette which you can read my Custom Eyeshadow Palette from Suesh here. It is my favorite color and it can hold a lot of stuff in it which is always nice. The best thing is you can make it really small and flat so that it can fit perfectly anywhere if you need to store it. The lining inside makes it really easy to wipe off in case any products get anywhere and spill.
This is what I am currently using and products I am obsessed with. I have quite a lot more in my traincase that I got for Christmas last year that is also full of more makeup. I’m building up a collection now and if you want to see a post about what I have in that please let me know. This is only everyday stuff and not the whole makeup collection I currently own. Now
instead of using the traincase and since I graduated makeup class I don’t have to carry it around anymore. So instead of it going to waste it has been convenient for storing my makeup. I don’t have much space in my room to have all makeup on display right now so it makes good storage space. The only thing is I’ve discovered its been getting harder for me to get stuff out so I brought back my makeup bag so it’s a little easier and I can still switch things up in it if I get tired of a certain product. I don’t fuss with a full face everyday and like to go for the no makeup look so these are the products to achieve that look I go for.
Base
Collection Colour Match Foundation in Natural | To start off I have this as my foundation. It is the only one that works for my skin and makes me look natural. It gives me a flawless finish and it isn’t matte or dewy but an in between which is the kind I like going for. I have a full review for this foundation here if you want to know my full thoughts on this and how much I love it and how I fund my whole grail foundation.
Heroine Make Mineral BB Cream in 02 | If I am not in the mood for a full face or if I am just plain lazy then this is what I use to touch up on some of my imperfections. It is quite light so I can’t use it all over but it makes a good corrector. I think BB creams are just perfect for light touch ups so I keep this in just in case I really want that sort of look. I did a full review on this here if you want to see swatches or all my thoughts on it.
MAC Skinfinish in Medium Plus | For powder I was using a Heroine Make one that did amazing but since I got this one I seem to reach for this. I do alternate but lately this just gives me more coverage and I can swipe this on alone and it leaves me shine free. If I am truly lazy I can use this alone and get rid of the shine on my t-zone. It is so soft and blends perfectly so this is my favorite powder. Unfortunately I don’t have a full review on this alone but if you’d like one I could.
Contour & Blush
Sleek Contour Kit in Medium | At the time I took these this was my only contour palette so I had nothing to base it on so it was a favorite. I know own a few but I still reach for this because since I started learning with this I know how to control it and I know the pigmentation to get the right amount. It does a great job and I also have a review on this here to hear my full thoughts.
Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Rose Silk | This is a beautiful colored blush and I can’t get over how pretty it truly is. I just adore the slight silver sparkle in it and it just gives you a natural flush pink when you apply it to the cheeks. It is light enough to swipe it on or you can build it up to be a bolder color. It is silky and so easily to apply which makes it my perfect everyday color and if I can’t decide this will be my go to color. I have a review on that you can read here and see how pretty color and swatches are.
Benefit Posie Balm | I love this is dual purpose and a definite must in an everyday makeup bag. It is the Posie Balm in the sample size I got in a subscription box but it can be used as a cream blush and than set with a powder blush or a nice lip balm color. I use it as both and I don’t find it sticky or anything like that. It is the perfect light color and can be used as a base or not. I don’t have a separate review on this one as it was a sample but if I purchase a full size I could.
Eyes
Heroine Make Quick Eyebrow in Brown | Also at the time this was the only product I had for my brows as I got it in a monthly subscription box and since I didn’t really fuss with my brows I didn’t think I needed it but it definitely changed my mind after getting a few to play with. This is so easy to use and it makes it easy to fill in so that is how I fell in love and it gives small strokes and matches my hair color so that is good. I don’t have a review on this and it also ran out but if I repurchase this than I can give it a proper review.
Pixy Eyeshadow in Sorrel Brown 02 | So this was the only eyeshadow palette I used when these were taken but since then I fell in love and started playing with more palettes and eye looks. For an everyday look and something not too fussy this is the perfect everyday color and easily can blend together or separate for an all over lid color. I adore the colors and the pigmentation is pretty great for the price and of course look how nice the packaging is. I did share my thoughts on this here if you’d like to see swatches and the colors it creates.
K-Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner | This has to be my all time favorite eyeliner. It isn’t just about the packaging and the fact it is pink but it is a perfect eyeliner for me. It is like a pen so it is easy to make the wing liner and make thick or thin lines. It is super pigmented and a very nice black. It doesn’t smudge which is amazing and dries fast because I am very impatient with that sort of thing. The sad thing is I used it all up and I definitely need to repurchase this. I will be doing a review once I purchase this again because it was that good.
Lips
MAC Lipstick in Please Me | My go to lip shade. This was the first MAC lipstick I own and I treasure it dearly. It is my perfect pink shade and can be worn with a lot of different looks and outfits. I can always reach for it and it be an amazing color. I gave my full thoughts on this lipstick here and if you want me to gush about it even more than you could head to that post where i go into much more detail of how much I love it.
Collection Lipstick in Satin Bow | This is a more pink nude and is a satin finish. I love this for when I want more of a neutral color and also when I want a glossy lip instead of matte when I have chapped lips. The packaging is so cute and my favorite color too so it helps and I love it matches my makeup bag. I have a full review on this here if you want to see the color and my thoughts on it.
Tools
Eyelash Curler | I don’t use this too often on myself but did on my cousin when I did her makeup. If I need a boost and feel my lashes need a boost than this is just a cheap thing I picked up at Daiso. I noticed as well I forgot to put mascara so this was kind of unnecessary but maybe the updated one will.
Dashe Makeup Brushes | For my makeup brushes I still use the same one. I love this kit and since I have been using it I think it counts for some new ones. These were a great first set and these are super useful and were pretty soft. I think you could see the wear on them now but they wash well and pretty sturdy. Since it is a whole set I had a lot of brushed to choose from but my go to was the powder brush, foundation brush, blush brush and a few eye brushes like the blending one to blend in the eyeshadow and they all did a good job.
Now that is all I carry in my makeup bag at the minute or it used to be since I changed up the pink lips for a couple of red lipsticks and put in a couple of plum blushes. It just depends on the season but once the spring colors are back in then of course they will be coming back. I think I might do an updated version of this in a few months because remember this is now almost a year old. I do still use a lot of these but since I got new stuff I want to trade it out and use some other stuff now.It was nice looking back at how my taste changed and since experimenting with makeup more how adventurous I have gotten as well. I haven’t done reviews on all of these so the ones I missed if you want to see my full thoughts I still can review them. I wanted to do maybe my brush set review as I never done one or my thoughts on the eyeliner as it is so good. Let me know if that sounds interesting. Also I’d love to read what you have in your makeup bag and if you have done one please link it in the comments for me to read.
