Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 215 Shameless – Review & Swatches
Happy Monday! To conclude I guess the beauty review month I kind of started not on purpose though I wanted to do one last review for the month of June. I was quite enjoying reviewing eyeshadows last week and so I thought I would continue with one more review but this time a lip product since you may know how much I love reviewing any thing lip related lately and they are also very popular and I love to do them so here we are. This is the first lip crayon I have bought and now own and in such a bold color may I add. I was hoping on getting a subtle pink color but I went all out as you can see but glad I did. So today I am reviewing for you the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless.
If you missed my last review on the WetnWild Angels in Aubergine Eyeshadow Palette which I talked about wanting a marsala shade but could not find a lipstick in the right color. So I settled for this vibrant purple color which I usually never pick but when I swatched it I knew I could make it work with the color I was looking for. I guess there is just a certain theme with purple and violet products which is nice because I’m always into pink hues. I have never been a person to go for a bright color but I don’t know it looked so pretty.
Description from (Revlon):Vibrant colors infused with a Triple Butter Complex give you a bold, beautiful lip. It’s a burst of matte color with a balm-like feel. Go bold and get moisturized in 10 craveable, collectible shades.
The packaging is so nice and I just love how the outside tube matches the color. The texture of it is also matte which I found so cool because I love matte packaging on my makeup products. It makes it so easy if you had multiple ones so you know which to grab. It is easy to twist up the bottom to get more out of it. It is so convenient to have a twist-up chubby stick.
Shameless is an eggplant purple with violet tones. It’s bold but has a warm toned deep purple/violet color with a pinkish undertone to it. The color is so vampy and has the best color payoff. This shade is buildable, but if you really want to get the most of this
shade I suggest to wear it bold with multiple swipes. You can play
around with the intensity if you want a toned down look which I have
both tried. It is simply amazing and a light single swipe ensures almost
opaque
coverage which can be built up more without any sticky feeling which I
hate when my lip products do that and it puts me off.
The swatches are great and has amazing color payoff. There is absolutely no issues with pigmentation and I love how bold and intense it is on the first swipe. It glides smoothly and he staying power is wonderful and can get about 4-5 hours of wear as it is a creamy matte so it tends to fade down to a soft stain after a while. When I eat, these do tend to wear down faster, but that’s to be expected.
The lip crayon is smooth, velvety and has a lightweight formula. The
texture has that same light-and-velvety feel about it. Another thing is
that they don’t get cakey and they don’t start to flake after a few
hours on the lips. It is a lovely velvet matte as Revlon describes. It’s very soft, smooth, creamy to apply and not at all drying or flat. The balm does not dry out lips at all which is a bonus! I love that even if it is matte it still is moisturizing with the coconut oil and shea butter in the formula. It also has a slight peppermint smell accompanied by a slight sting ensures a fuller pout. I love the minty scent and the way it tingles as well but fades out instantly after minutes of application.
Overall Experience
This is great and I can see the hype over these lip crayons.I enjoyed a lot of things about this matte balm and I love the formula, the pigmentation and I really loved its minty flavor. I would really love to pick up more shades and maybe try the other version as well because I do love colors that are not just matte as well. I would recommend you get this color as it is so vibrant and if you love a bold lipie I think this would be great and look nice on a lot of skin tones. I also hear it is a nice dupe for a lot of shades as well as a MAC lipstick so that is another plus.
My rating is: ♥♥♥♥♡
I think this is so perfect and such a great formula. The only reason it doesn’t get a full rating from me is because it isn’t an everyday shade and I won’t get as much use out of it. I think it speaks for itself but I enjoyed reviewing this and cant wait to go out and try more of these.
That was my beauty review for the week and hope you enjoyed all the beauty reviews I posted in June. I sure did and really liked writing about these since I felt I was not putting time into them. I really liked having a new color to try. Let me know if you recommend any colors I should try and what I should get next. Hope you liked this and see you in my next review!
What is the boldest color lippie you own?

Really good review! My boldest lip product is a vibrant blue lipstick by a brand I would've normally passed up called Ruby Kisses. I really love bold lips and I like to wear them on a daily basis with a neutral eye.HauteDare
