Pink in the Afternoon & Kissable Pink – Review & Swatches

Happy Wednesday! I’m here with a lipstick review but not just one lipstick but two. I have been obsessed with lipstick lately and usually in the pink family. Every time I got to a store that sells lipstick I’ll automatically swatch any of the ones that are in the light or medium toned pinks. I do like hot pinks too but there not predominantly in my collection. So I’m sharing two Revlon lipsticks I got in to BDJ Box’s last year which you can find here and here. I’ve been pulling on either one of these when I go out so it was time for me to share with you my thoughts about both.

I got the Revlon Superlustrous Lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon {415} and Kissable Pink {805}. They are both in different finishes and I like they are not similar and have a different effect on the lips.You can buy it at most drugstores locally and it is around 350php which that’s how much I paid. The packaging is quite pretty and I love the classic black bullet with gold interior. I remember my mom had plenty of these and it is a classic. And it looks nice in my makeup bag.

Description: {from Revlon’s website}
For seven decades, women everywhere have indulged in the bold, luxurious shades of our most iconic lipstick. Super Lustrous™ creates unforgettably seductive lip color in four finishes — crème, matte, pearl, and shine — and is available in 82 vibrant shades. The legacy lives on.

 Pink in the Afternoon

When I saw this color I was in complete amazement. It took me a while to choose which shade to get when I was buying the BDj Box but I narrowed it down to the Revlon Superlustrous Lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon as all the swatches I seen on line were so pretty and I knew I would like it. It arrived and I was so happy with my choice I had to take pictures of it right away (beauty blogger problem) so I could test out the color. I liked it on and the formula was good and I was actually quite surprised with it.

It is a Crème finish which I actually like. I thought I like matte more but I’m starting to like this kind of formula that is glossy but matte at the same time if that makes sense. It is an amazing color and at fist it looks more peach than it is pink but in person it actually is a pin with peachy undertones. The photo doesn’t do it justice but trust me it is a lovely pink.

The swatches again turned out more peach but it isn’t and if you can see on my lips it is a lovely medium toned pink. It has a blueish undertone as well and the formula is quite wet but it still is a little drying. It sticks to some dry spots but nothing a lip gloss can’t fix.

Kissable Pink

The next one has actually quite grown on e and I wasn’t expecting to like it. I didn’t know if I would like the color as it didn’t seem my shade but I tried it anyways and its actually quite nice. I didn’t pink this shade it can in a beauty box subscription so it can either be hit or miss and I was going to fly it as a miss but it actually started to grow on me. The Revlon Superlustrous Lipstick in Kissable Pink is quite a lipstick if you want to call it that but I think is more a lip gloss in lipstick form. It’s still quite good though and on days where I want a little gloss and shine this is perfect.

The color is quite amazing because I can;t really tell what it is sometimes. At first I thought it was a hot pink and then when I opened it was a blue toned sparkly berry pink so it really gives of different colors. I do like the glitter it has in it and I don’t have many lipsticks like it so it is nice to be a little more fun and sparkly once in a while and it actually transfer to the lips and is not just in the tube.

As it’s a sheer formula it takes a while to build up the color but once you swipe it a few times it is a nice pinkish blue gloss that has a little bit of shimmer in it. It reminds me of a lip gloss sort of I had before and not much of a lipstick. The formula is okay and not drying at all which is nice.I actually like the sheen effect it leaves and I like the color it leaves when it fades.

I can’t seem to pick my favorite of the two but they are both my go to lipstick these days. One for days I want to wear a lipstick and the other when I want a swipe of color to tide me over. Both are lovely, have different finishes and are a good lipstick. I might even try layering them if I ever feel adventures.

Those have been my go to pink lipsticks at the moment and I quite like them. Let me know what pink lipstick suites your fancy and if you like or tried any of these. I am a bit obsessed with pink lately so excuse all the pink lipstick but I do love a good one.  I hope you enjoyed my little ramble about lipsticks!

What do you think of these pink lipsticks?

    I think it's the summer season? I'm leaning towards pinks, too 🙂 But I like more coverage on my lippies because my lips are a bit dark and light colors don't always show.

      Hi Tellie, I think it is now officially summer here but I'm savoring the spring time since we get so little of it. I still haven't got a hang of very dark lips myself.xo Jackie
