February 2015 Beauty & Lifestyle Favorites
It’s already March and that means it is time to share my monthly favorites. I don’t like doing this every month so that I can try new favorites since I usually stick to the same products. It’s a tad bit late but with me running around trying to finish working on my styling project I haven’t had time to take photos but when I did I made sure to do a few batches in as well.
So here are a few different beauty & lifestyle products I’ve been loving so let’s see them.
Beauty
Sleek Contour Palette in Medium
Since we started learning how to contour in makeup class this has come out of hiding so that I can finally learn how to use it. I was a little intimidated by it before and didn’t really want to use it but now that I’ve learned I love using it to practice and I can say I am quite good with one side but the other side to make it even really needs some work but hey it’s progress. The Sleek Contour Palette is a great starter palette and it is quite reasonable. I will be doing a full review as I love it so much.
Dash Angled Blush Brush
To accompany the contour palette I’ve been using that with the Dash Angled Blush Brush. It does a great job applying the product and it does a nice job blending as well. I love the slant as it is easy to fin where my cheek bones are with this and it is quite soft and easy to clean and doesn’t lose any hairs afterwards. A nice quality brush and works lovely with bronzer and blush.
Etude House Dear My Lipstick in PK009
My fave lip color for the month had to be this pretty blue toned light pink. I love pink lipsticks and I’ve found a new shade to add to my collection. The Etude House Dear My Lipstick is such a girly shade and is such a nice color to keep light or build it up to be a very bubble gum pink. I have a full review of it coming Saturday so if you are wanting to see it and all its glory than come back then. I got this for Christmas and I’ve been using it since and I also fell in love with the packaging. It looks pretty on my vanity or in my makeup bag. I’m hoping to pick up more shades but next time I think a hot pink.
Orly Elsbeth’s Rose
Ever since I tried an Orly polish I have been a complete convert because the formula on me is amazing and I finally have found a polish that lasts more than a week on me without chipping. For me that is like a miracle so after I ended up buying a dark plumy wine color I wanted something more spring like and since I love pink the Orly Elsbeth’s Rose jumped out at me. It took me forever to choose a shade of pink from the stand but finally I got this medium pink color with tiny silver glitter that is so pretty.
Human Nature Clarifying Shampoo
With the weather becoming more dry and humid as the summer approaches where I live I need a clarifying shampoo about once or sometimes twice a week to get rid of sweat and product build up so this has come in handy. It cleanses well and it gives me extra squeaky clean hair. The Human Nature Clarifying Shampoo does the trick and since it is a natural shampoo and has no bad chemicals to damage my hair it has improved the quality of my hair tremendously.
Lush Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter
This body butter has become my fave thing to use in the shower. I always look forward to using it and I am actually going to be needing another one soon. The Lush Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter leaves me with such soft skin and is the perfect moisturizer after I shave my legs making them extra soft. I actually like the coarseness to it and it doesn’t bother my skin which I was worried about. I’m left with soft and sooth skin and I like it doesn’t leave residue and I don’t have to bother with lotion to make me sticky again. It’s definitely a great body product.
Lifestyle
For lifestyle faves this month it is pretty much just TV shows. I’ve been binge-watching all kind of shows on Netflix including Hart of Dixie, Melissa and Joey, and my all time favorite this month is definitely Grey’s Anatomy.
Grey’s Anatomy
So it started with me having absolutely nothing to do one day I decided to start with season 1 and that led me to start binge watching all the seasons. I have been watching Grey’s Anatomy since season 9 until the current season but I missed out on some of the story and with my boredom it was the perfect time to start from the beginning. I fell in love with the show and I am still playing catch up but it has consumed my whole life pretty much. I am so invested in the story and I don’t know how many times I cried like a baby from the characters. I am currently on season 6 and I started it more than a week ago. Some times I have days that I watched the whole season and then I have things to do I get a few episodes in. If you have any other shows I should binge watch then let me know since I’m almost off on summer break and need something to entertain me.
Forever 21 Detangler Brush
I got this while I was on vacation last January as I was a dummy and forgot my regular hair brush at home. I was waiting in line and saw they had something like a tangle teezer which Ive been looking to get one or any sort of detangling brush. So since it was reasonable I decided to get the Forever 21 Detangler Brush and it actually works great and gets my knots out without me losing hair when I brush. I have seen some improvements with my hair and getting a brush like this to not pull my hair out is great.
Those have been all my favorite products in February and I’m sure they will be in my fave list of products for the next couple of months. I am coming up with reviews with some of these soon and my thoughts about that so wait for that. I hope you liked my favorites for the month and if you tried something new that’s worth knowing about I’d love to know.

hi jackie, i love love love your photos here! and actually the whole vibe of your blog cause its very princessy. i have the same lush tin can and i think i've tried that body butter as well. most of lush' body butters are actually really smoothing like you said. my only problem with them is that i cant really use them during the day otherwise itll be too oily on the skin when im outside the house.
Hi Shayne, thanks I'm glad you are liking it! I know so I only use it at night too and it makes a world of difference. xo Jackie
I've only seen three seasons of Grey's, but I'm hooked on another Shonda Rhimes creation, How to Get Away with Murder. It reminds me of Grey's, but in a more suspenseful way.
I've heard of this show and I might try it next as I just loved Grey's and she must be an excellent creator because I'm hooked.xo Jackie
I also have a sleek palette but mine came with a blusher as well ๐ I am trying to learn how to contour too (and failing haha) xgingerphoebe.blogspot.com
I didn't know they had one with blush. And we all fail in the beginning and if you practice you will get better!xo Jackie
Nice favorites sis! I love the contouring powder from Sleek too, I have the face form palette, the one with blush, in the Shade Light. Lovely photos by the way ๐
