2014 Outfit Rewind
I guess 2014 was the year I started doing regular outfit photos and I’m glad for 2 reasons so 1) because it was one of my New Years resolutions and 2) it got me to explore this side of blogging and made me fall in love with it. So today’s post is a look back on all of my outfits and to rewind what I wore in the year 2014.
| Mint Lovers | Afternoon Tea | Easter Dress |
Mint Lovers is where it all started and this was not planned or did I ever think I would start it then. I didn’t wake up one day and say “hey let me take pictures of my outfit.” It just happened and my cousin saw an opportunity to just take a picture of me after we went to the mall as we were in a car park on the top overlooking everything and it was golden hour so it just fell into place. It was a spur of the moment and I think that was what sparked my interest and made me addicted.
Afternoon Tea has got to be one of my favorite outfits out of this rewind. This was a little more planned than the first one but the outfit just came to me and adding this blazer over this floral t-shirt would just work and it did. I can still remember taking these at the pretty River Park before it officially opened fully and having barriers up causing me to avoid them in the back of pictures. All these shots were taken while we were waiting for our food to come and my parents were both there and my dad took these and I had to instruct him with what I wanted and that’s when they found out I ws doing pictures for my blog.
Easter Dress was a little obvious as it was what I wore on Easter. We didn’t do much but I wore this just feel like a kid again as my mom used to buy me a lot of dresses for Spring and when we would go to church on Easter one of them would be my Easter dress and with me feeling nostalgic this happened. I designed this dress on my own and it was my first works I technically designed for my 17th birthday but I decided to get it out of my closet to wear again.
| Casual Chic | Blushing Diamonds | Coverup the Grayness |
Casual Chic was a very simple outfit I wore to one of my last days of classes. I loved these boyfriend jeans look and pulled the ou for comfy wear as I was doing a lot of things my last day of classes and I just made it simple and added heels to make it more dressy as well. I love this top and stretched it out so much but I still love it but soon it will have to retire. If you couldn’t tell I loved this color in my outfit posts.
Blushing Diamonds this was when I went to one of my first blog events and didn’t know whether I was going to take pictures or have time to take pictures there so I decided to do them before I left just to make sure. This is such a pretty top and I wish you could see the true color of how pretty the blush pink is and the diamond detail was my favorite touch of the top. I didn’t really know what to pair with it but I just added the black leggings to pull it together,
Coverup the Grayness was after a makeup workshop and store opening even I got to go to. I did these afterwards in a garden right beside the parking lot. My dad took these and I really liked how they turned out. The outfit as my favorite look back during those months and I paired that grey cardigan over everything as it was so simple and could go with a lot. I want to start exploring with mint too coming up as I just love it paired together.
| Casual Lunch Date | Neon Pink Dreams | Little Miss Pinkie |
Casual Lunch Date was on Mother’s Day and my parents and I took a day trip up to our property in the mountains and my mom decided to take her close friend and her family with us and it turned into quite an outing. It was also a hotel and after we ate at this nice restaurant we got a tour of the place and I found this area and wanted to shoot there as the light was amazing thanks to a huge window overlooking the valley below and the sun was setting make everything so pretty. I loved how I went with such a simple outfit and made it dressed up for some reason and I love that style apparently.
Neon Pink Dreams was also shot in a parking lot outside the event venue. I have a thing for doing my outfit pictures in car parks and parking lots apparently but I find it the most convenient after I get done with an event or just get done doing something. This was the first outfit wear I wore something neon too and I find it quite fun and something I would have never did before. I am definitely going to explore more neon options now and add them to my wardrobe.
Little Miss Pinkie was another look I fell in love with especially the location. I was unsure whether I was going to take my outfit pictures as it was getting late and the sun was going don and we were stuck in traffic as always but we manage to get to it in time and we went to a open promenade outdoor mall so it had a perfect location for me to shoot and it was just so pretty with the sun setting in the background making me want to go back and take more pictures there.
| Road Trip Sweetheart | Rainy Days | Floral Dreams |
Road Trip Sweetheart was again in a parking lot during a stop from our road trip. I wanted a picture with the sign of the mall but it again randomly turned into an outfit shoot because of my same cousin. I was not even planning this and didn’t feel like my outfit was anything worth taking pictures of but i thought it would be great to show my road trip fashion and it isn’t suppose to be cute but comfy for the long journey but I feel it as both. This was all did on my new iPad as well and I feel turned out quite nice.
Rainy Days was another outfit apart of my Road Trip Lookbook I did and this was shot at a tourist park and all of a sudden the nice sunny and hot day turned into a rainy one but what do you expect living in a tropical country. I still liked how the blue got to match the very green backgrounds and the day was just filled with amazing things and definitely one of my fave moments.
Floral Dreams was another dress outfit post and I know very rare I see throughout the year. I wore this a couple times but it never got a proper outfit post until I took it on our road trip and when I got to go to my cousin’s best friends wedding it got a proper photos for this post and it was just perfect for it. This has to be one of my favorite outfit posts as well as I just love the dress and how it fit and everything about it. A fit and flare dress is becoming on of my fave staples in my closet I hope.
I just think this is going to be my fave dress for a while and will wear it many more times.
| Sophisticated Charm | Black Swan | Nighttime Fancy |
Sophisticated Charm was shot again in front of my parents place. I used to have this as my backdrop in a lot of my early outfit days including a few in the beginning of the year and previous ones when I didn’t really do them regularly and didn’t feel comfortable in public doing them. I still like them and feel like I should bring them back a little more for some occasions. The outfit was of this baby doll top which is a tad bit big and I paired it with a velvet pencil skirt I wore to my parent’s anniversary and thought it was a different out and I think one of my first wearing a skirt during the year.
Black Swan was my outfit post for what I wore on Halloween. I was Black Swan of course you can tell but I thought I would do my outfit pictures with this. It technically isn’t a official outfit post as these were for a photo shoot I did but it was still what I wore for Halloween and I didn’t get a chance to get a picture of me wearing it afterwards. I designed the tutu and just used my ballet leotard and ballet shoes with the outfit.
Nighttime Fancy was my first night outfit pictures and I was so off put with posting this as I was afraid it would be too dark but it turned out not that bad so I went with it. I was at an all day event and anted to stop and take outfit picture and watching that sun set was heartbreaking and I really liked my outfit that day but I just pushed thought with it and it turned out better than I was making it out to be. It was a pretty simple outfit an I just dressed it up with black heels and a nude bag to contrast which I liked a lot together.
| Crowning Glory | Carefree Casual | 1920’s Elegance |
Crowning Glory was cutting it close as I was so afraid of the sun setting and plus it was super gloomy and no natural light the day I shot this. I was at the mall with my dad having a daddy and daughter day we have once a month or so and I let him take my outfit shots again and by this time he knows a little more what he is doing with only a little instruction now. I took these up on the rooftop garden and it had such pretty backdrop and I just loved the location and must go back during the golden hour to take more outfit shots. This outfit was my comfy and warm look as I said it was very gloomy and colder than normal hence me wearing a hoodie. There are no seasons so it is sad we don’t see my outfits change by the time of year but I wish they did and I try to incorporate it as much as possible.
Carefree Casual was an outfit I didn’t plan on doing as always and i just threw on this as it was just a short day for me when I headed to an orientation for Fashion School and afterwards I met up with my dad at a mall near by to look for cameras and scout the area some more. I repeat outfits a lot and you can see a lot of pieces over again but again I don’t plan these a lot and I like that style apparently but I am going to try some different things coming up so that would be new to see.
1920’s Elegance was something you wouldn’t really see me or much anyone else wear on a daily basis but this was for my styling class where we had to dress in a Great Gatsby fashion and this was my interpretation of that which I liked a lot. I mean for a modern day version of it I would totally wear it. I just loved this and had fun picking the pieces for this outfit to put together. Taking the pictures for this was terrible as my camera died and did not want to work anymore so I was left taking this on my iPad but I feel they turned out alright even though. I do wish I had taken them with my DSLR but maybe I could for Halloween or something when I decide to wear this again.
| Blazin Neon | Preppy Peplum | Fallen Hearts |
Blazin Neon was an outfit I wore to a Forever 21 Store Launch and naturally I wore everything from Forever 21 and this was something i threw together and at the last minute I decided to take outfit pictures inside the store instead of the parking lot as the lighting was amazing in there. I just did it really quickly as a lot of things were going on and manage to get a few snaps.
Preppy Peplum was another favorite from the year. It was such a simple outfit but if I would describe my fave outfit to wear I would say this and you can tell a little bit. I did this inside the all as the lighting was just right and my dad was with me taking his own pictures so before I had to meet up with my classmates for makeup class at the MAC counter demo thing we needed to go to I took this opportunity to just take pictures and I was already planning on wearing this and doing outfit pictures and instead of it going to waste I was glad I took that chance to take this and they turned out not that great but after I edited and added this filter almost I loved them and it made them 10 times better. I usually edit my pictures a little bit as well but I learned after that to add some effects to make it pop like this.
Fallen Hearts was my first Autumn look and something Pinterest inspired and the whole look was just so inspire and planned as I did everything for it and went to the park especially for it. I needed to test my camera as well because of it glitching out and not wanting to work so I decided to take this opportunity to do an outfit picture. I saw a picture on Pinterst with an outfit like this and just decided few weeks before I would do my own take on it but didn’t have a reason to wear something like that anywhere. It was a good thing I got to do my test shots and it turned out my camera was amazing that day and took amazing shots when it was just not working the day before. I was surprised by the results and how some of them turned out. I did love everything and would war something like this again when it gets cooler again.
| Ketchup & Mustard | Dark Florals | Mysterious Holidays |
Ketchup & Mustard was another editorial style outfit post which I shared. I wanted to show what I was doing in fashion school more on my bog and so I turned our assignments into outfit pictures as well and I actually like how they are turning out. This was combining red and yellow together and I like the outfit I picked out and how I did it at the park which has become a regular occurrence for me lately. I actually named this ketchup and mustard not only because of the color but me and my friends went to a burger place right after this assignment was given and I just saw it and it reminded me of it. I think the name is quite funny to be honest.
Dark Florals was shot the same time as Ketchup & Mustard but this was what I was wearing before I shot that editorial because I wanted to hit 1 post with one stone and did two outfit shoots as I loved my outfit as well. I love this outfit so much and it is another favorites of mine this year and I love everything and the styling together.
Mysterious Holidays was my what I wore on Christmas and the holiday seasons. I went with a little black dress for the first time instead of a red or other Christmas color. I love this dress and it is definitely my second favorite dress I wore during the year and I really want to wear more dresses like this as I feel like a princess spinning around in it. we shoot this at a restaurant that was sort of a resort and I loved the various tile design as a background because it would make it ore bold since the outfit was plain.
I love that all my outfits spark some kind of story and when I see a particular outfit I can remember taking it and just imaging the moment and I like that. I loved putting this together and ope to take my blog in a more fashion and style direction for this year. I hope to be exploring more with my style and up my photography game when taking outfit shots but that’s why I am taking Fashion Photography at fashion school. All these were amazing to do and hope you enjoyed my outfit rewind of 2014.
So here is to another year filled with more outfit posts so this time next year I’ll be doing it all over again I hope!
