The Autumn Lipstick Edit

Happy Monday! This weekend I had a pretty big autumn photo shoot up in a forest in the mountains. I planned the whole thing and to complete my looks it was time to bring out my autumn shades that I put away from last season. Since last year I've had a few I haven't opened and couldn't wait until this year for autumn to come around so I can wear them. I noticed I had quite a few autumn shades finally and don't have only pinks in my collection anymore. If you couldn't tell I do love the liquid lipstick formula so I choose the ones that are my go to colors. So I thought I would share my autumn liquid lipstick picks and why I love each one!

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lippie in More Better
The first color has to be my favorite shade for Autumn. It is that classic berry color and it isn't too vampy and has a pinky undertone to it. I was so excited when I got this as I thought it would be a pretty shade and I was right. I got this when it was almost December last year so I didn't get my wear out of it that much but now that it is the season for this color again I have worn it a couple of times and love it on.

Sleek Matte Me Lipstick in Velvet Slipper
Next is a color I actually haven't tried until recently. I waited until now to use it and it was worth it. I love the color and it is a bit more vampy than More Better and is quite mauvey which is nice. I do adore this kind of shade and will get more use out of it. Plus I do love the formula on this and it isn't drying.

Matte in Detail Liquid Lipstick in Katherine
Last color in the vampy berry category is this shade. I wore it a few times last autumn and I found it again in a bag the other day and it reminded me of the outfit I wore with it. This is more of an ox blood red and not so much a classic purple berry. It is the most vampy especially on the lips and gives a very dark vibe which I do like for darker looks this time of year.

Pink Sugar Lip & Cheek Tint in Queen Bee
Moving on to an in-between color in case you don't like full on vampy berries is this one. It has that slight berry mauvey tone to it but not so bright and bold. It is a bit more red and a perfect my lips but better shade. So if you don't want something bold or don't like nude shades than this is a perfect color and I wore it so much last year and until this year. It's just a great all year round color and not just for autumn which is great.

Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Americano
This is the special color of my picks. It's fairly new but as soon as I tried it I knew it would be a pretty autumn shade and I would get more use out of it now. It is an orange terracotta and I have nothing in my collection. It isn't peachy so I wouldn't consider it a summer color as it is quite dark on me and I do like it on. It has a subtle brown tint as well and it matches well with a lot of tops I have that I bring out every autumn.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lippie in Beeper
Now on to a nude shade. I was never a fan of nudes until recently. I wore this a bit last year and got more into it this year. I love this on and it is a very flattering brown nude for me. I think it is the best one I have that looks good without doctoring it to my match my skin tone. I never thought I would suite a brown nude but this changed my mind and it makes me feel like my lips are bigger when I wear it. I tend to do more nudes this time of year which may seem backwards than some but I do love a good nude around this time.

Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Manila
Last color of my autumn picks is another nude. At first I wasn't that into but after wearing it with a darker lip liner and adding this in the middle it makes it looks so much nicer on me. It is a classic nude and again I love them for this time of year. It is another year round color too and I will be getting more wear out of it for months to come if I choose.

Here are the swatches and how all the shades look next to each other. I'm pretty happy with my autumn shade picks and these are ones I go for. I choose three different tones of berry shades. A classic purple berry with More Better, a mauvey berry with Velvet Slipper and an ox blood red berry with Katherine. An in-between color of berry and nude that is a subtle autumn color in Queen Bee. There is a terracotta orange with Americano. Lastly two nudes which one is much more of a brown nude with Beeper and a pinkish nude in Manila. All the formulas are surprisingly matte. I didn't plan on that when picking them out. I was more focused on colors and not the formula. I do love a matte lip this time of year and it makes it much more darker I feel like. There are so pretty and I was so looking forward to wear these shades and show you of course!

So those were my favorite autumn shades that I will be wearing for the season. I'm so glad I can finally share an autumn lip edit with you now that I have ore vampy shades and other colors. If I would have done one previously then it would be one very purple shade and the rest are just pinks. I expanded my reach and feel happy with getting out of my comfort zone with lip colors. I hope you liked my colors picks and let me know your go to color you've been wanting to wear for the season. I'd love to know and what shade you were scared to try but love now. I'm going to go and edit the pictures from my weekend shoot now so look out for that. That's how I'm spending my Monday so far and I hope your day and week is as productive!
