Summer Styling

Happy Monday! Today's blog post was inspired by me spending my weekend browsing Pinterest and Bloglovin as I was pretty bored. I was still productive and edited the pictures for this week's posts but while doing that I noticed that this set of pictures had a lot of elements of summer trends I was browsing online. Then that led me to realize that my fashion lately has been inspired by a lot of items I recently have been seeing everywhere.

I've embraced the trends! I'm usually not one to even follow or try them but this year it's different. Maybe it's because I love all the girly ruffles or the simple stripes but this year, this summer in particular, I am trying one or two in my outfits. Something about the style that's so in right now has me going into stores and trying them. At the moment if I want my fix on the trends then I head to H&M and pick and choose what I like that's out. My go to stores is Forever 21 and H&M if you couldn't tell by the details of my outfits. I need to look into some more around but the department stores have caught my eye. I just need to start exploring new brands and see what is around.

This outfit I wore last week got me thinking about it like I said. A lot of tops I see in store lately is either stripes or gingham print. I bought a gingham top the other day with the cold shoulder effect so that purchase right there tells me how much I am influenced by the trends. The off the shoulder style is big as well and it is perfect for the weather here. Denim is another big item and it's just timeless. I've always been a fan of denim and since I was a 90's kid the denim jackets were in full force. I actually haven't bought one since but I might have to. I do love these denim skinny jeans and they are so comfy especially for everyday use.

Next is the cross body bags. They are just so convenient and the tan color is so popular. I one day would like a designer bag but the dupes right now are doing it for me. I'm not quite sure about the sandals but I love them and they are my go to footwear and can be dressy or casual so it is a good summer trend. I think the pom pom sandals or tie up ones are more popular styles than mine but they are the closet I can get in my size. Last trend that I have seen non-stop on Intsagram and pretty much everywhere is the mirrored sunglasses. I love them and they are so fun. I have 2 pairs this green and gold one and a pink and rose gold one that are my favorite things. I kind of want the Ray Ban ones no after trying the dupe version and might invest in them. These sunglasses just make you feel so much more cooler and trendy and what more would you want. My bow is just my own trend and my own trademark to my outfits of course.

I wore this to my appointment to get my US passport renewed. I told you I was getting it done finally after putting it off for so many years. The picture in it was when I was 13. That was 11 years ago and I looked like a baby. I got it in the mail a few days ago and that means I'm so excited to use it to travel. A few minutes after getting it in the mail I saw a tweet about waiting for a blogger trip to the Maldives for free in their emails and I literally screamed "same" at the screen. It was such perfect timing and I never related so much to a tweet before. Wouldn't it be funny if it was a sign to renew my passport for an opportunity like that come in for me? I'll be here just waiting for it just like that girl. Until then I'm going to be working my butt off to get there. The day I took these was so sunny after raining hard the day before. It was the perfect day for lunch outside with my family after my errands that morning. I took both my parents as they needed to be there as my passport went from a minor to an adult which is really scary to think about. Now it's good for 10 years and I don't know what will happen in those 10 years until I have to renew it again. It seems so weird to think about but I'm sure in a blink of an eye I'll be back there. Will I be married? Have kids? Where will I be living? Will I still be blogging? (I hope so) What ever it is I'm not going to think that far ahead as it scares me. I'm just going to enjoy now and plan my next vacation just so I can use my new passport and get it stamped up.

So that is my outfit and my thoughts on this summer's fashion trends. I hope you enjoyed me discussing how I am embracing them and incorporating a few pieces into my own wardrobe. I would love to know what your favorite trend is right now and if you get sucked into them too or have no choice as that's all that's available in stores right now. I wonder what will be popular in the next season and if I'll adapt to that as much I did for spring and summer. I'll be going now but I hope you have a good start to the week lovelies!
