Happy Wednesday! A very good middle of the week treat because of this exciting pink thing and by that I mean my new camera. Back in 2015 I blogged about buying my first DSLR and being able to afford it and expanding my photography for my blog with and just in case you missed that you can read about it here. This time I got myself a new vlogging camera. It's more compact and lightweight so I can take it with me to film and take pictures with it without having to carry around a DSLR everywhere. That means more content from me on my little ol' blog and my Youtube channel. So pretty exciting stuff getting this cutie. The Sony A5000 in pink is my new blogging and vlogging bestie and now I'm going to tell you all about her!
I've been on the lookout for a second camera for ages now and did so much research on what I wanted and didn't want and I finally settled and bought it. After a little scare or technically 2 little scares with my Nikon I knew I had to have a second camera just in case because I was in a situation where I needed a camera badly. If you want to hear about that story fully than I wrote about it in an outfit post here. So with that I knew I had to buckle down and get serious to finally picking one and saving up enough so that won't happen again. I know what I wanted and went through so many options and models but I finally settled and here we are. There were pro and con lists, review after review and endless what ifs in my head swirling around if I would pick the right one. When I finally choose this I knew it was the one. It's a mirrorless compact DSLR like I wanted and has an interchangeable lens. I pretty much wanted a baby DSLR that could be used for photos and videos. I still wanted that good quality my other camera had but in a smaller size. It has a lot of great specs and everything I looked for.
I bought it at Henry's Professional Camera's at the Alabang Town Center branch that recently open. I'm so glad I don't have to travel so far now to get all my photography needs. It was 20,599php cash and I got a pair of Sony Bass Wireless Headphones free with it as they had a promotion if you buy the camera it is a gift with purchase. It also came with an 16gb SD card and a bag. I bought some extra accessories with it though like a gorgeous white leatherette strap and extra battery so stuff like that which I needed. I really recommend going as the staff are so friendly and helped with everything and explained how the camera worked and gave some tips on how to use it.
I have been playing around and testing it with blog pictures and did a few clips for my vlog with it but still haven't gotten used to it. It's still pretty new and I'm just starting dipping my toes in with it but so far so good and I'm liking it. It has the flip up screen which is handy and a good lens that is really versatile in taking pictures I want. I do have a lot more planned with what I want to do with it so look out for all kinds of posts and videos with it. I'm literally over the moon happy I got another camera and not to be all sappy like my last camera post but this is just so cool that I can buy cameras to get better and improve. I remember using my point and shoot camera set on top of my dresser shooting outfit pictures in my room with poor lighting (that blog post is still up and I'm not linking it as it's really embarrassing but go have yourself a search if you're curious) to a professional camera that shoots amazing pictures. Seeing my improvement from all that cameras I have used since starting which were a point and shoot camera to a semi SLR to a professional DSLR all these years I've been blogging is so cool. I can't wait what else I'll capture and document but seeing all this happen in front of me is mind blowing. I can't describe how amazing that is. That got really deep for a camera first impression so sorry about that. Overall it's a pretty decent camera so far and there are so many things I haven't discovered about it yet.
I think I'm going to do an in depth review and how to use this for blog pictures and the settings with all that in a separate post once I have used it more and get a good feel for it. Let me know if that would interest you and what else you want to see me do with this camera and the suggestions would be quite helpful. If you'd like to see more of the unboxing/first impression of this and a haul of the accessories I got with this camera than you can watch that on my Youtube channel here or above this paragraph to watch it straight away if you'd like.
So that is my new camera! I hope you enjoyed this and got another look at my second camera for my blog and channel. I'm going to be doing a lot more with this and now I won't complain having to carry my DSLR everywhere. I know it is going to be so good for covering events and taking pictures on the go also a big thing is me vlogging with it a lot more. If you watched my Vlogmas I did then it is going to be a lot like that. If you'd like me to start weekly vlogging and showing you what I get up to as a blogger please let me know and I might start that soon. I'm so looking forward to the endless possibilities I now have with this camera. It's probably what got me out of my blogging slump during the first of March and got me inspired to start feeling good about my content again. That is it for this post and again thank you for reading my blog because without you I would never have opportunities like this. Have a lovely rest of the week!
