Happy Monday! I am back to another planning inspiration post and this is to show the dresses of the mother of the bride and groom. There were so many cheap dresses to choose from at Missydressesau and it had different style and colors for the mother of the bride dress. As you know I am kindly helping my cousin plan her wedding and last Saturday we went off to some dress shops to browse for her dress and since her mom which is my aunt tagged along we needed to have her try on some dresses or technically we tricked her into trying on something dressy because she does not like wearing anything fancy or anything like that. It was a struggle and we may have to consider uninviting her to the wedding, kidding e love you aunty no matter what you wear. So it was my mission to find some dresses online to show her to kind of get her to accept the torture of wearing a somewhat formal dress on the day. Now here are some of my choices I picked for the mother of the bride and also groom to wear.
First we have my aunt and we choose for her to wear blue. She looks pretty good in blue and it will match the theme my cousin has chosen. She also did not want a long gown because in her words she is not the one getting married and isn't going to prom so we had to find something short or mid length because anything that looked like a gown will be turned down in a second flat. Now these are two dresses I showed her.

Navy Sheath Knee-length V-neck Mother of the Bride DressThis one is the exact color my cousin had in mind. It is simple and to me doesn't look like a gown. It seems like something Kate Middleton would wear and that's why I picked it but it was a dress all of us could agree on. My aunt likes the belt and it doesn't seem that bad but I'm sure this will be the only time we see her dressed up.
A-line Square Knee-length Chiffon Mother Of the Bride DressNext one we really had to do some convincing because it does look like a short gown but this is what my cousin had in mind for her mother and I'm sure a lot of forcing will happen. We still have time to choose but I really liked this one as well and I just love the top and the sleeves and it does look like it can be for a mother.
As for my cousin's mother in law. I only knew the color she was wearing which was like a beige and brown or something and she didn't really care and could be dressed up in a gown so we went for a floor length gown and this was way easier to pick than her mother.

Sweetheart Short Sleeves Floor-Length Mother of the Groom DressThe first one is really nice and I love this one myself. I love that it seems like a pretty bridesmaid dress and the color is really nice on it. The skirt is tulle and just drops down and I think she'll like it and will be willing to wear it.
Sheath V-neck Sleeve Taffeta Mother Of the Groom DressThe last one is in the same color palette and is cinched at the waist and has this pretty detailing in the middle. My cousin choose this one as she thinks it would be exactly what his mom would wear. I'm okay with it but I like the top one better but I do feel this would be better suited for her age and not look like something the bridesmaid will wear.

Those were the dress inspiration for the mother of the bride and groom and I really like choosing styles they could wear on the big day. It usually is over looked and I'm glad my cousin could think of it because I would totally forget. I can't wait to do an inspiration post on my dress and what would be wearing on the day. I still haven't decided as well but I think the other details are more important first so that would have to wait. I hope you liked these dress and which one you liked best. Until the next post of my planning inspiration.
What kind of dress do you imagine your mother wearing at your wedding?
