Products I Regret Buying

Products I Regret Buying

Happy Tuesday! I wanted to continue my series of cleaning out my drafts folder so here I am again. This I guess is pretty old because the pictures are from my old camera and I haven't figured out my background or props yet. I decided to just go with it and publish this so here is the Products I Regret Buying.

So I seen that some bloggers write posts about products they didn't love and didn't do much for them and I have accumulated some products I didn't really have a connection with also so I thought I could tell you about ones I didn't quite like. I hate negativity and try to avoid it as much as possible but sometimes you really need to have some to balance things out. I'm not saying I hated the brand but the product didn't do much for me and if my impression was good with the brand then I will buy something else of theirs but not the ones I already know didn't work for me.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Daily Facial Scrub
First was the Neutrogena Daily Facial Scrub, I really wanted to try a new face scrub and they had this one which was on offer and had a good deal so I picked it up. I used it when I was off from school in case I reacted to it and when I put it on it stung my face a little and I thought it was normal so I left it on a little longer but I couldn't take the sting and washed it off. I didn't break out or develop redness but I was scared to use it again because I might react badly. I'm not sure if the product is actually like that or what but it didn't feel right with me so I took it off before I hurt myself.

Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner
I picked this up at the same time as the facial scrub and you couldn't just buy the facial scrub without trying the Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner and I convinced myself to get it. I have not tried many toners and don't really use them but I wanted to make a difference with my skincare so I popped this in. I thought it was not going to sting but as soon as I applied it on my face it hurt and I got scared and stopped. I am not sure if it is supposed to be like that but I didn't try it again after that. Let me know if toner is supposed to do that and I might try again.

Garnier Brightening Oil-Control Scrub
To continue with the facial scrub theme I apparently decided to try another scrub again and I picked this Garnier Brightening Oil-Control Scrub up and I used it quite a few times and I thought it was going great until I started getting red and thought this might be the suspect. I love the beads in this though and if I didn't get anything from this I would sure have liked this. It smells quite nice too and made my skin nice and soft but the redness was the only thing to put me off.

Garnier Light Moisturizer
I got this because of the Garnier sale a few months back and thought I would like to try a new moisturizer since I guess I was just in the mood too so the Garnier Light Moisturizer was the one to be picked. It turns out this was quite oily on me and with me having already oily skin in this hot humidity weather it didn't mix well with me. I like the thickness of it and I am sure it would have done its job but the oiliness just got to me.

As for the others like the Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner I quite liked this but it started making my hair oilier than normal. It didn't really do much for my hair but the smell was absolutely amazing. I wouldn't repurchase this but I am willing to try it again. Next is the Dove Intense Heat Protector which did nothing but soak my hair and made it smoke when I tried curling it. I don't really now if my bottle was broken but I didn't like the texture and the smell so for me this was a no. The last product I didn't quite like that I picked it was the Beauty Formulas Cleansing Nose Pore Strips that I saw in the beauty aisle at the grocery store. I thought this would be cool to do it at night with my cousin to have one of those beauty nights in. This doesn't stick well admit didn't do much for me. I might try another brand as I think this would be good to help clear my pores especially on my nose.

So that was all the products I didn't really enjoy and kind of regret getting in the first place but I think that is fun with the trial and error. The products wither were to early or had side effects I didn't like about it. The ones with pictures were going to be for reviews so I added them in but never did so at least I got them in as well.  If you would like any full reviews on these I might try and do them.

That was quite different from me today. Some of these products have been sitting in my beauty cabinet for a while feeling unloved since I haven't used them and some were not really good for me. I might try them again and see if I get a different result because I believe in second chances and they might be not that bad after all. Let me know how you like post like these and if you didn't really like some things you purchased.

What did you regret buying in your beauty collection?

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless | Review & Swatches

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 215 Shameless - Review & Swatches

Happy Monday! To conclude I guess the beauty review month I kind of started not on purpose though I wanted to do one last review for the month of June. I was quite enjoying reviewing eyeshadows last week and so I thought I would continue with one more review but this time a lip product since you may know how much I love reviewing any thing lip related lately and they are also very popular and I love to do them so here we are. This is the first lip crayon I have bought and now own and in such a bold color may I add. I was hoping on getting a subtle pink color but I went all out as you can see but glad I did. So today I am reviewing for you the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless.

If you missed my last review on the WetnWild Angels in Aubergine Eyeshadow Palette which I talked about wanting a marsala shade but could not find a lipstick in the right color. So I settled for this vibrant purple color which I usually never pick but when I swatched it I knew I could make it work with the color I was looking for. I guess there is just a certain theme with purple and violet products which is nice because I'm always into pink hues. I have never been a person to go for a bright color but I don't know it looked so pretty.

Description from (Revlon):Vibrant colors infused with a Triple Butter Complex give you a bold, beautiful lip. It’s a burst of matte color with a balm-like feel. Go bold and get moisturized in 10 craveable, collectible shades.

The packaging is so nice and I just love how the outside tube matches the color. The texture of it is also matte which I found so cool because I love matte packaging on my makeup products. It makes it so easy if you had multiple ones so you know which to grab. It is easy to twist up the bottom to get more out of it. It is so convenient to have a twist-up chubby stick.

Shameless is an eggplant purple with violet tones. It's bold but has a warm toned deep purple/violet color with a pinkish undertone to it. The color is so vampy and has the best color payoff. This shade is buildable, but if you really want to get the most of this shade I suggest to wear it bold with multiple swipes. You can play around with the intensity if you want a toned down look which I have both tried. It is simply amazing and a light single swipe ensures almost opaque coverage which can be built up more without any sticky feeling which I hate when my lip products do that and it puts me off.

The swatches are great and has amazing color payoff. There is absolutely no issues with pigmentation and I love how bold and intense it is on the first swipe. It glides smoothly and he staying power is wonderful and can get about 4-5 hours of wear as it is a creamy matte so it tends to fade down to a soft stain after a while. When I eat, these do tend to wear down faster, but that's to be expected.

The lip crayon is smooth, velvety and has a lightweight formula. The texture has that same light-and-velvety feel about it. Another thing is that they don't get cakey and they don't start to flake after a few hours on the lips. It is a lovely velvet matte as Revlon describes. It's very soft, smooth, creamy to apply and not at all drying or flat. The balm does not dry out lips at all which is a bonus! I love that even if it is matte it still is moisturizing with the coconut oil and shea butter in the formula. It also has a slight peppermint smell accompanied by a slight sting ensures a fuller pout. I love the minty scent and the way it tingles as well but fades out instantly after minutes of application.

Overall Experience
This is great and I can see the hype over these lip crayons.I enjoyed a lot of things about this matte balm and I love the formula, the pigmentation and I really loved its minty flavor. I would really love to pick up more shades and maybe try the other version as well because I do love colors that are not just matte as well. I would recommend you get this color as it is so vibrant and if you love a bold lipie I think this would be great and look nice on a lot of skin tones. I also hear it is a nice dupe for a lot of shades as well as a MAC lipstick so that is another plus.

My rating is:
I think this is so perfect and such a great formula. The only reason it doesn't get a full rating from me is because it isn't an everyday shade and I won't get as much use out of it. I think it speaks for itself but I enjoyed reviewing this and cant wait to go out and try more of these.

That was my beauty review for the week and hope you enjoyed all the beauty reviews I posted in June. I sure did and really liked writing about these since I felt I was not putting time into them. I really liked having a new color to try. Let me know if you recommend any colors I should try and what I should get next. Hope you liked this and see you in my next review!

Fashion Finds | Everyday Bags

Fashion Finds - Everyday Bags

Happy Saturday! I'm sharing another fashion finds for you today and the theme I have come up with is some everyday bags. And since I've been wanting to get another one because I don't have enough already and I may clearly have an addiction. So the other week I was contacted by Zaful.com if I wanted to write about their affordable bags they offer in various styles. I thought since I was already lusting over bags to buy once pay day comes and do a wish list I instead decided to share my picks on fashion finds. Now here are my six bag choices that I would love to have as an everyday bag.

Chain Metallic PU Leather Tote Bag | here |
This is my favorite bag out of all the ones I choose so I decided to put it first. I'm really tempted to buy this one because look how pretty it is. I have been wanting a new black everyday bag to have some variety and not use my current one every single time I go out. I love the gold detailing and the handle because sometimes I am just to lazy to wear the strap and I just need to hold it. It comes with a lot of color options but I feel the black one is just classic and can look good with any style I choose to pair it with. I am definitely in love with this bag and really want to buy it myself.

Candy Color Hasp Tote Bag | here |
I've been wanting a white bag and I've never owned one before. I feel this size is perfect and it is just so simple but I could pair it with any of my outfits. Whenever I am planning what I want to wear I always tell myself I think this would be so cute with a white bag but I never actually go out to buy one but I'm hoping this will now push me. I love the style and it actually comes in a few different color options but I saw the white one and I thought it as perfect for me but my second favorite would be the lilac colored one.

Candy Color Bowknot Tote Bag | here |
A bag with a bow? Can you tell I love bows yet? I automatically had to include this because anything with a bow I will just drool over. I picked this in a hot pink color because it is my favorite color and who says you only have to have neutral colored bags. I do love having pops of colors if you see my what I wear posts and you can tell I am not shy with color. I love the size and the handle on this and it comes in a lot of other colors as well if you aren't feeling the pink like I do.

Checked Solid Color Zipper Tote Bag | here |
I just love this style of bag. I saw a bag like this before I think at Forever 21 and was going to get it but I put it off since I already bought a few other bags a few days before so it was a tad bit overboard but I'm glad to see another style similar and instead of black I love this color. If you didn't know I have been obsessed with the color of the year which is marsala and I usually go for my pinks but somehow ever since fashion school I just fell in love with this shade. I would love to use this in the autumn and winter and I think it would just look lovely with all kinds of darker colored outfit and matching nail polish.

PU Leather Solid Color Crossbody Bag | here |
I saw this and thought I needed a basic tan bag as I don't own one anymore. I used to have a few and I have seen so may outfit with tan accessories and it made me love it and want to try it for myself. I just want to have a light ink dress with this bag and some tan flats on a nice summer day. I love the basic structure and this just seems like the perfect go everywhere kind of bag that you can just pick up and go.

Lace Solid Color Chain Crossbody Bag | here |
I've been needing a dressed up mini crossbody bag and when I saw this I new it would be it. I adore the pretty lace detailing on the front and that's so me and whimsical so it had to be featured. It comes in so many pastel colors and I just love bags like this. They just seem so girly and could go with  pretty pastel and flowy dress for both spring and summer. I think it can even be used as a nice formal bag or a date night so any occasion like that I would love to style it with that.

That was this week's fashion finds and hope you enjoyed the bags I featured. I loved putting this together and making the collage a little different for once and add some color and little things in it. Also go check out the lovely bags and other nice things on Zaful as they have so many other affordable things to choose from. Let me know if you are wanting a new everyday bag and what style you like.

If you'd like to leave suggestions of what theme I should do next week since I would love to start doing this regularly again like I did when I first started blogging but now it seems like I ran out of ideas so please let me know what you'd like to see.

Share the Love | Favorite Fashion Bloggers

Share the Love - Favorite Fashion Bloggers

Happy Wednesday! I have been so inspired with joining twitter chats lately and the love in the blogging community that I wanted to share a few of my favorite fashion bloggers. I've seen so many other bloggers be so nice and share their favorites so I thought I would share mine as well. I have gotten so many lovely comments and chatted with a few lovely people on twitter and on here so why not share.

Carrie of WishWishWish
If you would ask me who I read religiously I would say WishWishWish. I just love her style and her photography and just everything about her and her blog. I know it is pretty popular already but I just love it and maybe you haven't heard of it if you are reading from another country. Another thing I love about Carrie is her Youtube channel which is a work of art and her videos are probably my favorite things to watch and I so recommend you going over because they are so worth it. My favorite post of hers at the moment was this one here because of the pretty anchor dress and stunning background of Portugal.

I just started discovering Philippine fashion bloggers and Camille was recommended to me by my classmate in fashion school in which she said she loved her blog so I decided to check it out. I know they are several fashion blogs by Filipinos that I do love reading but I included her as she was the most recent. Camille's pictures are always so pretty and I just love her backgrounds. Also she has really great style which I take inspiration from because we live in the same place so she knows the weather and gives me ideas. My favorite posts of hers at the moment is this one here because I love the business casual look of it and gave me reason to dress up.

Patricia of Peexo
I recently discovered Patricia's blog from Bloglovin and even though we don't have the same style I just love hers and think she has such a nice writing style. I love how she does her pictures and I am such a fan of her middle of the street looks as I can't do them where I live because an insane driver will run you over. I find her really lovely and I just love reading her and admiring her outfit choices. My favorite post of hers at the moment is this one here because I just love the combination and colors since I wore something similar as well but the pink shoes are the winners here.

Mara of M Loves M
I've been reading Mara's blog for years now and I always go back and admire the pretty dresses she always wears. I just love how she combines colors and patterns and her travel posts have been so fun to read especially her latest trip to Alaska. I've always wanted to go and she took such pretty pictures I had to stare at forever just to take it all in. I feel like we have similar styles and she just seems like a lovely person and is so nice. My favorite post of hers at the moment is this one here because I just love a fun pretty pink summer dress and how she styled it with tan accessories which I just love.

Allison of Curvy Girl Chic
This was actually the first plus size style blog I have ever read and I just fell in love with Allison's style. I love how confident she is and gives good tips and I love how she styles her outfits together and just seems like a lovely person. My favorite post of hers at that moment is this one here because it is just something I think I would wear this as I love blush pink and lace and everything bout the styling is love.

I have been reading Sian's blog for a while and I always loved her blog and her journey on weightless. She has wrote such a great post on that and it gave me inspiration and I am slowly getting there and taking each day at a time. I love how she dresses and no matter her size too. My favorite post of hers at the moment is this one here because I've never tried a striped dress and she makes me want one and I just love the clutches she pairs with it.

Lili of Lilibuzz
This has been a new found read of mine and I'm really enjoying her content.  I love that she is also a lifestyle blog and I love her outfits and her style is just so nice and I do love it. She seems such a nice person and I enjoy reading her blog. My favorite post of hers at the moment is this one here because I love the white pants and the pink top and I love that combination.

Those were a few of my favorite fashion bloggers I have been following and just wanted to share. I do love doing these and may do a beauty blogger one soon as well as I do enjoy my fair share of reading beauty blogs. I hope you found a new read or just enjoy these as well but let me know what your fave fashion blog to read is that isnt here for me to read.

What are you favorite fashion bloggers you always go back to reading?

WetnWild Angels in Aubergine Eyeshadow Palette | Review & Swatches

WetnWild Angels in Aubergine Eyeshadow Palette - Review & Swatches

Happy Saturday! To conclude my eyeshadow palette review week I am bring you the last palette I have that have been sleeping in my drafts folder for a few months now. I really liked this idea and it gave me a reason and motivate me to write them and show them to the world. I also save the best for last of this series. This is my favorite palette I'm going to feature this week because of the quality and the colors so let's get with it. Here's the Wet N Wild Angels in Aubergine Eyeshadow Palette.

I bought this a while back when I was still taking makeup techniques in fashion school because I was doing a photo-shoot with a marsala theme. I needed to do the makeup and styling myself so I went and bought everything I could find in this color. I got the nail polish easily, and then I needed eyeshadow and lipstick but those were so hard to find. I found a purple lip crayon and decided to just add a red lipstick on top to create the color I was looking for. That burgundy and plum combination was just so hard to find. Lastly my big problem was trying to find an eyeshadow and with only a student budget I wanted something from the drugstore. The saleslady was so helpful and suggested this. The one in the middle called the definer was the closest marsala shade. Even though I was looking for a duo to save money she ended up convincing me it will be worthwhile and I think it truly was because I grabbed this for my colorful makeup looks and fashion shoots.

Description From (Website): Five amazing shades in one convenient package for an unbeatable price! Each eyeshadow palette features five distinct shades that can be mixed and matched to create a unique look for every style. From matte to ultra-shimmer, these long-lasting, highly pigmented formulas are satiny-smooth for crease resistant wear. Enriched with Macadamia Oil, each shadow provides continuous moisture that improves the appearance of the delicate eye area.

The packaging of this palette has a clear lid again and has those eyeshadow applicators but this time they seem quite nice for coming with a palette. It also has two different kinds of brushes which if I am ever in need of one I think I will be willing to use it. On the back it has instructions and ingredients and things like that as well. I always find it helpful to have that how-to on the back. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic and it feels so sturdy because I have dropped it and it still whole and didn't shatter into a million pieces. So for me I am pretty impressed with the packaging of the packages.

The colors in this palette are absolutely beautiful. I think the color theme of this is just stunning and such a great combination. I find these palettes are so easy to use and could be use together or apart which I have both done. What I love the most is that you can see what goes where and as a beginner before this would have been great with me to follow. The first color is the crease color which is a nice silver and has some sparkle in it which is not so sparkly but this subtle shine especially in the light. The next color is the browbone shade which is a middle tone pink but seems quite light in the pan and in the swatch i is darker than I expected but turned out so pretty. It is matte and it has this purple undertone which I quite like instead of a standard just reddish pink shade like most eyeshadow colors I own. As for the color on the top which is the base color it is the lightest one out of all the shades. I do understand it is supposed to be a base so I wasn't expecting it to be such a bold color. It is a little chalky I feel and has some kind of silver undertone to it as well. Now the second to last eyeshadow is the marsala color I was talking about and I was afraid once I used it that it wouldn't be the one I was looking for but luckily it was and it is a burgundy and slight plum shade and is quite a satin finish to it. Then lastly I have the eyelid shade which is the matte black and I use this for lining eyeliner and it is great and so easy to use to create a smoky eye with. I think I quite enjoy the colors and theme of this palette.

As for swatches of the colors you can see what I mean about how nice the color payoff is and the pigmentation of these are so great and I didn't have a hard time for it to show off because in one swipe for the swatch it just glided on to my skin and set in really well. It doesn't even have a primer so with one I feel this will stay on for quite some time and won't budge but just before you want it too you can easily smudge it out which I have tried and tested as well. There is no fall out and I hate when that happens but this is compact and applies easily. It is just such a nice creamy and blendable eyeshadow to work with too. I'm not impressed with all drugstore eyeshadows as I have seen them that are not as good like some I have reviewed this week but this one is the best over all so far.

Overall Experience
This is a great eyeshadow palette. I just loved it and don't regret this purchase what so ever. For the price I paid for this I think it was worth it and I used it many times while I was in school. It was the perfect combination and I just love how well they blend together and also I used these in an all pink shoot as well. I do recommend this palette and would by a lot more variations like maybe a neutral version with those pretty brown shades and a smokey eye one I spotted too. I think I will keep on going back to WetnWild though because it was my first brand of makeup I tried when I was a child because of ballet recitals and I just get that nostalgic feeling as well every time I use something from the brand.

My rating is:
I give this a four rating because it isn't quite a five for me but it is pretty close. The only thing I don't like is it cannot be used every single day but other than that the quality is amazing, the colors are so vibrant and unique and also the pigmentation is so nice. Everything about this is so nice and it is such a good palette for the price since the quality and shades all pass in my book.

That has concluded my eyeshadow review week! I really enjoyed reviewing these especially this one. It was my absolutely favorite of this mini series I think. Also a fact I discovered about the name of the palette was I was was playing with my nephews toy and it had an aubergine on it and was shaped like an eggplant so when I searched it on Google I found out it was just another name for it. I understand now why it has the purple theme to it and find it quite cute. Hope you liked this and my eyeshadow review week. I'm planning on maybe doing this again soon so look out for that. Let me know if you've tried a WetnWild palette and what you think of it.
