Unboxing | July Pure and Simple BDJ Box

Another BDJ Box showed up on my door step and since I was so impressed with my June Box which you can read about here I decided to get a 3 month subscription plan. If I really enjoy the ones coming I'm sure I will keep on subscribing.

This July box was delayed and I was kindly sent an email which is very nice of the BDJ team informing me beforehand that it will be late. So when I got this months I was so amazed how big and how heavy the box was and made it worth the wait for sure. As you can see the regular box and this months box have quite a difference. It is 3x times the size and similar to the BDJ Elite box which I received last month that you can find here.

Upon opening we find the card introducing the theme and the products but I wait to read that last and there are challenges to win a prize. There are also encouragement stickers as I call them with a challenge on the back of the card provided. I love the quote this month and I have been enjoying collecting them.

This months theme according to the card is "Pure and Simple" which contain products that will make it easy to use for the rainy months and still make us look our best. I love the idea and it is worthwhile products I'll be sure using. I love having a box like this as it gives some good essentials that you already know you should be using. So let's jump in with the products.

The beauty boxes always have this pretty wrapped tissue making it a little present to open which makes it even more fun to open for me.

The exciting part is lifting the tissue paper and discovering what is inside. I spotted a lot of full size items which is nice as last month was full of samples. I was so excited to see brands I haven't tried and what they all were going to be used for.

Here is the overview of everything I got in the box! All amazing goodies I get to try which has been the funniest part of getting a beauty box subscription every month.

Hygienix Hand Gel
Full Size 100ml // 45php
Fight germs, while keeping your hands nourished and refreshed wherever you go.

Hygienix Hand Spray
Full Size 55ml // 40php
Keep your hands soft, smooth, and moisturized on the go!

The first things that are up are these hand spray and sanitizer which I don't use much of but it would be nice to try. I actually gave the sanitizer to my cousin as she needs it more because she has a baby and uses this all the time. The hand spray I kept to keep in my bag when I head out.

Vitress Hair Solenn
Full Size 30 ml // 80php
Tame curls and waves and rock a smooth, silky, shiny 'do.

Vitress Intant Relax
Full Size 30ml // 75php
Make your hair look naturally straighter and smoother.

I have heard of this and when I was still in college I saw my classmates use this and always wondered what it was like but never tried it as I was always too lazy to pick it up at the drugstore. Now I have a chance to use it and see what it is like. I have curly hair so I don't know how much this would work for me and I hope it isn't too oily since I don't really use hair oils. I like that I got two versions to try out and to see how both of them are like.

Nivea Travel Kit

Nivea Pure Effect Exfoliating Wipes
Travel Size 20 wipes // 139php
Your handy cleansing and exfoliating facial wipes you can take anywhere!

Nivea Anti-Perspirant Invisible Spray
Travel Size 150ml // 184php
Say no to cloth stains and stay protected from sweat and body odor.

Nivea In Sower Skin Conditioner
 Travel Size 100ml // 109php
Replenish your skin moisture without that hot sticky feeling.

The wipes are something I am looking forward to as I have only tried a few and since I've been going so many places I like using these after I've been out. The deodorant is so cute a unique travel size that would be perfect to take with me to dance class to use before and afterwards. The in shower conditioner sounds really cool and I'm intrigued to trying it but it is a little small sachet to try out.

Keratin Complex Travel Valet Care Kit
Travel Size 39ml // 495php
This shampoo and conditioner duo from Keratin Complex was developed to provide a gentle cleansing that will not diminish the precious nutrients of healthy hair. This sodium chloride free formula is recommended for dry, chemically over-processed or damaged hair.

I'm looking forward to using the shampoo and conditioner set and can't wait to travel so I can have these to take with me. I've been obsessed with trying hair products with keratin in them so this is another thing I have to experiment with.

Celeteque Back Acne Spray
Full Size 50ml // 320php
Formulated with salicylic acid, which exfoliates the skin and works to reduce blemishes and acne. It also contains gluconolactone, which gently removes the build up of dead skin cells, helping to prevent future breakouts. Spray after bathing and make sure to let it dry completely.

I'm not really fond of this product as I don't get back acne and it seems a little weird to get. I was happy to give it to my cousin after he asked and I got pictures of it for this post. I'll ask him how he likes it when he uses it.

Pink Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist in Strawberry Pop
Full Size 250ml // 299php
Fall in love at first spritz with Pink Sugar's 12 various scents, grouped into their Fruity, Naughty, Dreamy and Happy Collections. You're sure to find one that will suit your every mood and emotion. Use it throughout the day as a refreshing way to feel and smell great!

This perfume was my favorite thing I received this month as I thought it was perfect for me. I love strawberry scents and this one smells amazing and it's like they knew to give me the strawberry because as soon as I sprayed it on myself I was in scent heaven and loved how great it was.

Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette in Pretty Eyes
Full Size 6g // 199php
This long wear eyeshadow palette contains 3 shades that will allow you to add depth and drama to your eyes. Swipe on the lightest shade as an overall color while using the medium shade to contour, then use the darkest shade to line your eyes.

The eyeshadow was something I was curious about because I have been loving trying new eye shadows because of the makeup workshop I went to and the colors are again perfect for me because I love pink and purple and they are both my favorite colors so it is exciting to try it out.

Envie Aestheticcare & Medspa Gift Voucher

Last thing in the box was this gift card to get services done. It was a nice bonus and if only I lived closer I might use but if I'm ever in that area and want to use this I will keep that in mind.

That was everything in the July BDJ Box. I really liked this month and I loved the variety of the products that I get to try and discover and I'm sure I'll be doing a review of some of the things I'm loving. The box value was pretty good with a total of   and only a 580php fee. It is definitely worth it and I love these boxes that just have a lot of different stuff to try. Let me know if you'd like me to review anything. I hope you enjoyed this unboxing with me and sorry it was a little late even though I took the pictures and wrote this post a little while ago it didn't seem to go up and I had no internet to check.
To subscribe to get your own BDJ Box head to their website, find them on Facebook or follow on twitter to received one of these boxes every month like I have. Until next months unboxing!

fashionxfairytale goes on holiday!

I'm on holiday!

Just wanted to give a little update on here as I've been absent yet again but this time I decided to get away and go on holiday. It was a spur of the moment thing and it felt so good to go somewhere and relax. I'm headed home in a few days and expect a lot more blog posts of my travels as I'm going to do a travel diary and some outfits I wore on my trip as I was planning on doing some travel what I wore for so long now. I'm going to have a few more posts go up I think and as soon as I get it ready they'll be up. It was nice getting away from the internet for a few days and not worry about anything but it is refreshing to be back and just what I needed to get rid of my writers block and also my blogging block I've been experiencing.

So hope to see you in a few days when I get back!

Road Trip Sweetheart | What I Wore

Today's outfit post is something different as I am writing this and doing this entirely on my iPad Air as when I was doing this post I was on a road trip with my cousins and really wanted to blog because this is one of the reasons I bought an iPad to help with blogging while I'm on the go. So at one of our stops along the way I had my cousin snap a few pictures on my iPad of my road trip outfit. When we got back on the road again and it was going to be another 2 hours or more (depending on the traffic) I decided to edit the pictures and upload them on to the Bloggers App as a draft. It was quite simple and I got it done. Then before I went to bed after we got to where we were going I added this bit and it was very easy just typing it out on here.

I went for a very casual look because I wanted to be comfy and the drive was about 4 or 5 hours so I knew I didn't want to be in anything tight or hard to move in. Of course while choosing my outfit I considered going in my pajamas but I knew we would be stopping along the way so I choose these pants I bought at Forever 21 which look and feel like pajama bottoms but they are actual pants that are these new loose style that I don't know how to describe. The one thing I know is they are super comfy and so nice to be in for a long period of time. I call these my "feeling-pajama pants" which my mom thought they were when I bought them but she has now changed her mind and accepted them. Enough about these pants and let's move on to my top which I have worn in another outfit post which you can see here and if you read it you know this is my most comfiest top and I go on and on about this in that post so I won't here but it was perfect for the trip and so nice to wear.
This is the first time I'm sporting flip-flops in an outfit post and I was debating to put on shoes which I had packed with me but that wouldn't fit in with the theme of comfy road trip chic so I went with it. These are my favorite type of flip-flops and they are my everyday footwear sometimes when I'm doing errands or I use them for the beach and pool in the summer time. They're silver with glitter and I have a few other pairs in different colors as I am that obsessed with them. My bag surprisingly matched again because it was my bag I was bringing with me since it was not too big or too small to take with me on the trip. As for my bow I got it a day before I left and I packed it because I didn't know what color clothes I would be bringing so I picked this white bow that will be neutral with any outfit as I packed this with some other accessories and didn't want to bring my whole bow collection with me. Usually I add beauty to my posts now but I don't have any makeup on as I didn't need it while traveling. I do however have Caronia Chasse on my toes if you are curious and good thing I painted them since I knew I was going to be wearing flip-flops.

| top: Forever21, bottoms: Forever21 {similar}, bag: Accessorize, bow: Forever21, flip-flops: Montego Bay Club {similar}, nail polish: Caronia - Chasse

That was my road trip attire and I'm glad I stuck with the comfy look because I fell asleep on the way and it was nice wearing this outfit. I really love these pants and I'm glad I finally got to incorporate them in an outfit post cause I was unsure how to because I was afraid they would look like I was wearing my pjs to somewhere nice when I actually wasn't. It was a nice coincidence that it blended together and made it sort of a themed kind of post.

Hope you liked this post and would like to see these types of posts again. I liked that it was different and easy to do on my iPad. I'm also doing a blog post about this sometime soon on the apps I used and stuff like that. Until next outfit post!

What is your perfect outfit for a road trip?

Get Pixy-fied, a Kawaii Experience | BDJ Box Beauty Soiree Event

I was again fortunate to receive an invite from BDJ Box to their latest Beauty Soriee entitled: Get Pixy-fied! A Kawaii Experience. The event was a makeup workshop and we were instructed to bring our own makeup to retry the looks we will learn about. I have never attended a makeup workshop like this and since I'm not very good at applying makeup I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to learn. So let's see what happened at the event!

The venue was at The Blackboard by Chef Michel, The Podium Mall. I kind of got lost while heading there as it was in an area I never been before and never explored but I love an exciting adventure. I got there safely and was there pretty early which I thought I was running late but I wasn't. Good thing I got there before the power interruption and didn't have to go up 5 flights of escalators but I felt sorry for my fellow tablemates who did.

There was about maybe 30 or 40 Bella's that attended and before the workshop started we were treated to lunch by Blackboard. We got to serve ourselves and we got this delicious Filipino noodle dish called Pancit and a Chicken Burito Wrap which was both so good. The Pancit was amazing and everyone at my table agreed how good it was but my favorite was the chicken wrap because I love those kinds of foods and could eat them all day. So while we ate we chatted and talked about the upcoming lessons we will be participating in.

To introduce the brand Ms. Liz Lazuno from Project Vanity who is one of their brand consultants talked about how the brand started and how it came to the Philippines. She gave some insights about some of the products and it made me want to try the products even more and since I am of mixed culture I sometimes need to find products that will suit my skin tone.

The workshop with Mrs. Charm Suerte was very interesting and we learned to different looks by her but while she was doing both the looks she gave advice and answered questions we had about makeup and she cleared up common problems and gave good advice. I actually learned some pretty good tips that can help me apply my makeup. It was the best makeup workshop I went to and it was so interesting as it was like she was just giving advice to a friend and it didn't feel like a class but a night with your best friend as she shares her tips.

She demonstrated two looks the Tokyo Kawaii look and the Tokyo Glam look. The models were from the BDJ Team and they got to show off both the looks. I really liked the Kawaii look as it was simple for everyday and was very natural. The look had more makeup then I was used to wearing but very simple and look great which I will try on more own time. The Tokyo Glam look was interesting for me so I decided to try it instead of the first look because this as a seminar to try and I wanted to go out of my comfort zone and not be afraid so I tried.

Our table got to try some of the Pixy products and since I didn't receive the BDJ Box with all the full size products in it this was my first time trying it and seeing them up close. The palette had lipsticks, blush and the eyeshadow duos and I wish we could have kept it as it looked all so good and I really wanted to swatch all of them but I was focused on my look but maybe if I pick some up I could get some swatches.

I got Pixy-fied! I know my eyeshadow is probably too much but it was my first time trying a smokey eye or a dramatic eye look so please excuse the extreme eyeshadow. I've only watched youtube tutorials and have never tried it on myself and as I said it was the first time I did an eye look on myself this extreme before. I hope you like the color combination though and give me an A for effort. I am proud I perfected my base and really know how to conceal my under eye circles better then before. I think my foundation application was so easy after learning her tips and also my blush seems on point as she taught us what is best for our face shape. I just need to earn how to contour better and I can say I can do my makeup well.

Mrs. Charm came around to each table and gave us advice and she told me if I wanted it bold then it is okay but add more highlighter on the brow bone which I tried but apparently it didn't turn out well. I blended as much as I could and she could see that which I'm glad watching tutorials taught me that. She also said to fill in my brows and have them shaped again and it would be okay. I think her advice was excellent and now I know what I can improve on and how to do it next time I try. Here is what is on my face if your are curious and yay for my first "Face of the Day:":

Here are the lovely ladies at my table and in my opinion we were the best table and were the funnest to be around. I was a little shy but they were a great group of people and I love spending the whole workshop with them and they made the experience even more memorable. Thanks to all the girls I met and got pictures with!

I also finally got to meet Gen-zel of genzelkisses.com after chatting with her on twitter for quite some time. It was really nice to meet her and I learned she lives in my area which is really cool. I was surprised she got to go because there have been other events that we missed each other and now I got to sit next to her. I also loved her finished look at the event. It was nice meting you Gen-zel!

Another beauty blogger I met was Liz of projectvanity.com and I found out about her blog through Gen-zel as for most other Philippine Beauty Bloggers. I love browsing through her blog and it was nice meeting her in person and she was so nice.

Before everyone went home I had my tablemates write down their blog links so I could follow them. We also added each other on Facebook too. I wanted to share their links if you would like to as well. Sharmeyne of shyieesolove.com, Mhisha of thetouchofyellow.com, Ana of thepinkblush.wordpress.com and Tess of theatheistdoc.ph/colormepretty/

It was such an amazing event! I had fun, met new friends and learned so many new things about how to do makeup. Here is my outfit and sadly I didn't do outfit pictures after the event as it was late but here is a snippet of my outfit from the event. I just wore my new blouse I picked up at Forever 21, my jeans have been in my previous outfit posts and so have my shoes. Nothing special but I did like my top and the back has a peep hole which is quite fun. This is also in front of the restaurant the workshop was held at and it was a very nice place inside the Podium.

The loot bag we took home is always a nice touch and we didn't get to the leave the event empty handed. Inside had one of Pixy's products either a lipstick, a eyeshadow or a blush. I got an eyeshadow which looks so pretty and perfect for me to try and recreate a more subtle look I did at the event. Here are the contents of the bag; Pixy pamphlets, A BDJ Box cookie, Pixy Colors of Delight Eyeshadow in Sorrel Brown 02 and a Pixy Pocket Mirror. The mirror is going to be so useful and I'm going to go attach it to my favorite purse.

That was the whole event and I enjoy every minute of it. Thank you again BDJ team for the invite and I can't wait for the next event. Thanks to the beauty bloggers I met at the event and got pictures with and to all the girls at the table I hope to see you in future events.

If you'd like to find out more about BDJ Box and their events and also beauty box subscription you can find their website and facebook here. Also if you'd like to know more about Pixy and their great makeup brand you can checkout their facebook.

July Favorites 2014

July is done and over with and since I missed out on posting my favorites the last few months since I was using the same products and wasn't buying anything new. I thought I wouldn't do my monthly favorites post and felt like it was redundant to repeat so here I am showing you a few recent beauty products that I've fallen in love with.

The first thing I've been loving is the Benefit They're Real Mascara that I received in my June BDJ Box you can see here. I really wanted to try it as I've seen other bloggers rave about it and I see why it is such a favorite. I have long and curled lashes naturally so I just need a mascara to enhance that and this made my lashes so pretty and so long that it touched my eyelids. There was no clumping which is nice and worthwhile. Even if I have a few mascaras to choose from right now I've been grabbing for this one as it is small so it is easy to use since I'm not quite good at applying mascara.

Another favorite this month is the Benefit Fakeup Concealer again another sample I got in the same box. I need concealer for under eye circles and this one claims it is perfect for that since it has an eye cream also which I've read. It is the perfect color and gets rid of the darkness like it isn't even there. I was so amazed the first time using it that I used it again to make sure I got the same results which when it did made me a happy camper as I didn't have to cake on millions of product to get rid of the color.

Next is the nail polish I've been loving and have been wearing most of June and July on my nails and also my toes is Caronia - Chasse which was part of their Art of Dance Collection I reviewed and swatched if you missed it or want to find out more here. It is a lovely cobalt/royal blue and looks so pretty for this time of you and really pops. This is the first dark blue color in my collection and I'm now officially obsessed and have to pick up more of this color. It goes on amazing both on my nails and toes and is already super shiny without a top coat which is great. I definitely recommend picking up a color like this for summer and it can also be great for when we transition to the autumn months.

Lastly, is the Bare Naturals The Mane Event Hair Mask which has done wonders for my hair. I wanted a hair mask that is good for you as in doesn't have sulfate or bad chemicals that can ruin my hair even more. That's why I need a hair mask to repair the hair from damage and not cause more so when I got this in my April Glamourbox which you can browse here I new this would be my favorite products. It took me a while to try as I forgot about it and was going through my boxes to see I never used it so the following day I jumped in the shower and loved how soft it left my hair right after I got out. It's nice and light on my hair and made it bouncy which makes it so fun to have especially since I have curly ringlets in my hair. It's definitely one of my favorite hair masks at the moment.

Those were my favorite products of July and ones that stood out to me out of all the rest that I've been using. I'm planning on reviewing them soon so I can't wait for that. Hope you enjoyed reading what I've loved lately and check back in next month to see if I discover anything new to share in my favorites!
